Sammies Bar and Grill

Another great experience at Sammie's. Their house made french dressing is amazing! Always a good choice.We did notice they've once again downsized their menu. Which, I understand, but they got rid of several of our favorite meals. That was a bit disappointing.

I went here a couple of years ago and had some of the absolute worst service in my life. Initially they want to seat my wife and I next to the restrooms when the restaurant was half full. Then I ordered their fried calamari, it was WAY overdone and served in the wrong porcelainware and was over sauced and cooked. But wait folks, the horrible service doesn't extend there. After I told the host to seat me elsewhere then dead next to the crapper, I got aggressive stare downs and aggressive body language from the host. Like how dare I do not want to sit next to the toilets in a half-filled restaurant. Anyways, I ordered an adult mixed beverage and had to wait about 15 minutes for the drink, whelp when the drink came to my table it was "dead". What that means is that the ice was melted, and it had sat for too long. An attitude for refusing to pay for an old drink. Now, folks let's move on to the main crap show. The main courses. My wife had ordered the salmon with some kind of fruity sauce, and I had ordered the beef tips with gravy. It took at least 40 minutes to get our entrees, all the while the waitress utterly ignored us with outright aggressive body/facial language while we asked for our drinks to be refilled. This pathetic excuse of a waitress at a pathetic excuse of a restaurant brought us our entrees. I could tell that these were dead plates that had sat in expo for quite some time because of the obvious congealing of the sauces. I took the plates from this horrible waitress and had personally felt that the entree was lukewarm and unfit for consumption based upon food safety laws and standards. We refused to eat or pay for such substandard and unsafe food. This unprofessional excuse for a waitress tried to intimidate us by saying we needed to speak with the owner/bartender but as I have 5 years' experience in sit down restaurants, I wasn't swayed. I refused to pay for anything, but the crappy appetizer and the owner had the same exact crappy attitude. I will trash this establishment every chance I get. It is the worst of local restaurants, and I stand by my review with witnesses.

M- another disappointing meal we had heard they were given a excellence award. Must have been prearranged on a staged night. I made the mistake of ordering their featured meatloaf. All I can image is that they hire some young person with no cooking experience or a lack of enthusiasm. My meatloaf was burned and definitely a warmup from the freezer. Mash potatoes were gummy and not enough cream. The saving grace was the rolls and white french on my salad. Maybe they should drop the grill on the bar and grill and stick to what they do best burger and beer.

My boyfriend and I were visiting his family for Thanksgiving week and were recommended (by his parents) to try this place out! They mentioned Sammies has the best burgers in town and noted their service is top tier- fast and friendly. I agree with them!Upon arriving, I was blown away by how cute it was on the outside. It appeared small, but festive. The inside was (in fact) not small, and VERY decked out for the holidays. I sat and pondered where in the WORLD they would store all these ornaments once the season was over...We were seated immediately, as the restaurant was near empty, and enjoyed a booth seating in the middle of the restaurant. I have never seen a setup like this, very cool! We both ordered the traditional American burger, and it came looking very underwhelming. The tomato, lettuce, and onion arrived under the patty in skimpy portions, but didn't bother me at all once I tasted my meal and discovered how the meat could stand alone. They forgot my pickle (and as a #1 pickle fan, this upset me greatly!!!!), however I didn't bring it up or cause a ruckus because again, the burger surprised me!Our meal was about $33 for both burgers and fries. We didn't get anything to drink. Highly recommend coming here for a delicious, affordable date night!!!

The Chicken Cesar Wrap and Sweet Potato Fries were excellent. However, you need to be cognizant of their prices. In my opinion they charge way too much. For a party of 3 it was over $70 including tip and nobody ordered alcohol. If you're looking for great food then you definitely need to try this restaurant but be ready to pay a pretty penny.

Prices have jumped so much we refuse to eat there. We understand all restaurants have had to raise their prices but this place just got ridiculous

STAY AWAY- burgers buns were soggy also gave incorrect sides. eat anywhere else this place. all the reviews are about trash food but good service waste of your money

Great meatloaf and awesome chicken/bacon maple sandwich!!! Bluemoon on draft as well. Great experience with food and service. Highly recommended!!!

This is one of our favorites. My favorite is the Reuben or the Grilled Caesar wrap. The fried green tomatoes are awesome. The service isn't always the greatest so if you are in a hurry this may not be the best stop. Otherwise, it is a great place to dine.
