I happened upon this place today. I am glad I did. The lady greeted me fast and with a smile. I don't eat fish so I can't speak on the quality of the fish. But it looked and smelled good. The sign at the ordering station specifically states they are not fast food. And I will attest. It wasn't fast. But speed isn't everything when the quality is great. I ordered the lunch special. $5 for three piece dark chicken with fries and a soda. I asked for the two legs and a thigh. The flavor of the chicken was out of this world. I enjoyed every bite of it. The seasoning was on point. The doneness was perfect. The fries were soggy. And that's because they don't have traditional boxes. They put the chicken on top of the fries. So the grease from the chicken makes the fries soggy. I won't deduct a star for this. The chicken was that good. This place is a must get to for your chicken and I assume fish is just as perfect.

The fish was good. My husband and I ordered the perch meal and a side of cream cheese pound cake. The meal came with fries and coleslaw (which was hidden under parchment paper under food). They didn't send condiment we ordered door dash so you may need to ask for them. Overall the food was good nicely seasoned. The fish need salt. The food arrived fast and hot. I was worried the fish would be soggy but to my surprise it was crispy and delicious. I would order form here again.

The chicken was good. The service...not so much. My family placed a large chicken order and PREPAID 2 weeks in advance. There also was a follow up call placed to verify our order. When we arrived at pick up time, our order was not ready. After 20 minutes, we were offered a soda pop for our inconvenience. NOPE!30 more minutes later, we had a chicken, but unfortunately was late to the venue to decorate and had other members of the set up crew waiting outside, in the winter, until we arrived. The chicken was good though, but the level of unprofessionalism was sad. Do better! As a family, we order a lot of food from restaurants all over Cleveland. We may try this restaurant again on a smaller scale...but no time soon.

I ordered the whiting and Mac n cheese. The fish was awesome! Crispy and not greasy. However the Mac n cheese...I paid $3.95 and they gave me a table spoon. Seriously???

First, let me start off by saying that I am a huge supporter of Black owned business; however, with that said, I think that some of them really need to be cognizant of how they are treating their patrons. Now, on with my experience with Sam Sylk in the Southgate shopping plaza. On Saturday 6/8/2024, my friends and I attended the comedy show featuring Cheryl Underwood. Cheryl was hilarious and entertaining, but the customer service was not accommodating. I was one of seven people in my party, mind you we purchase our tickets well in advance only to be seated in the back by the door although there were seats closer to the front. The person that seated us reported that we were seated in the back because we had a large crowd Make it make sense. Although Mr. Sylk was approached and politely notified, he did say that he would come back to our table, again that never happened. Furthermore, we arrived at the show early (5:00PM) only to have to stand outside until 6:00PM. Our plan was to go early order drinks and food; nonetheless, we had to wait until 6:00PM, so much for arriving early to beat the crowd. Once we entered the establishment, the servers were overwhelmed, our server was getting orders mixed up, and we didn't get served our food until close to the end of the show. Although the food was good, the portions were small. To add insult to injury, while waiting for our form of payment to be returned to us, the security came and told us that we had to leave because others were waiting to get inside. Although I completely understand that, and was also sensitive to that matter, we were not going to leave until we received our form of payment back. Overall, Cheryl Underwood was amazing. She was personable and approachable, very down to earth person. I enjoyed the show, but I was very disappointed with the service. What I would have done differently, was allow people that came in the building to allow them to go ahead and order their food and drinks. Perhaps that would have eliminated people standing outside, and the mayhem. Also, it may have prevented the servers from becoming overwhelmed because the 6:00PM show was a large crowd.

Ordered two fried shrimp dinners via Uber Eats. The shrimp was terrible! They were small, salty and fried so hard that they were inedible not to mention tasteless! We had to throw them in the trash. Shame on you; teach your staff how to deep fry without ruining the order!

I went to Sam Sylk's in the Southgate shopping plaza and had an amazing experience. The food was delicious, the space was clean, inviting, modern and spacious. The DJ did a great job and we were able to dance and socialize without feeling awkward. Security was at the door and searched my purse which I appreciate, I felt safe.
