What a pleasant surprise ! We were en route to another local Italian location , but we got mixed up where it was located, we were surprised to see Salvatore's where we ended up , so we decided why not grab food here. Awesome variety for a lunch menu , something for everyone. Waitress was very hospitable . I ordered the clam chowder and chicken parmigiana sub . My husband ordered the steak sub with hot Hungarian peppers and fries . Wow !! What an incredible lunch . Left very full and happy.

Food is always good here. Decided to give them a try for lunch. Sandwiches were delicious beer was cold. I like the wedding soup better than the pasta fagoli. Just a recommendation Service is always great. Wasn't extremely busy like it is for dinner. In and out in under and hour. Would definitely return to try other things on the menu.

Me, my wife went for dinner the other night just got a love the pizza bread they have in the bread baskets. We always order the peppers in an oil as an appetizer. Between the appetizer, the bread and the salad by the time our dinner came, we were almost full. We ordered the tour of Southern Italy not sure if it was southern or northern Italy but anyhow, it came with chicken, Parmesan, lasagna, and fettuccine Alfredo. The staff was very good always kept our drinks full And checked on us quite often. They did some remodeling for the restaurant looks clean and new we go here often so it's very very good value for the money. It's usually pretty quiet and they have Italian music music playing in the background not too loud just right if you're looking for some good Italian food, this is your place to go on the top of the hill Howland Ohio.

Yet another Mahoning Valley gem that shines brightly against a backdrop of mediocrity. I happened upon Salvatore's following a visit to the Youngstown Air Reserve Base to renew my military ID. Salvatore's is inconspicuousily located in a strip mall but has signage near the road.I stopped in with a big appetite and a craving for pasta. Upon entering I was promptly greeted by the hostess and walked to a small table near the bar. The interior has a dimly lit ambiance that is calming and perfect for a date. I was handed a menu and after scrolling a bit decided on a double espresso, bowl of Pasta Fagioli, and Penne a la vodka - without prosciutto. My server was more than happy to acquiesce and collect the menu. Warm fresh bread was brought out which comprised a mix of rolls and cheese topped thick squares - almost like pizza. The bread paired well with the soup, which had a rich broth and was full of hearty flavor. Finally the main course arrived hot and ready to eat. The a la vodka sauce was excellent, with just the right balance of tomato and cream and was seasoned to perfection! The penne was cooked al dente and paired marvelously with the sauce. Needless to say, I didn't need a to-go container. I will definitely be returning whenever I find myself near Youngstown.

If you want a "quick bite" it's not this place. However, we ordered the polenta. I love polenta! It was served about 1.5" thick with a crushed tomato sauce, greens, roasted peppers (I opted out) and buffalo mozzarella cheese. Well, this is the first time I actually liked their food! If I go again, I will get the polenta. We had to ask for it - only on the carry out menu the waitress said.

I have only been here once, but the food was great. The portions are a little small for the price, but it's very tasty. The pizza bread is good. They were able to put(what I hope wasn't just a limited time sauce (San Marzano w lots of garlic), on my spaghetti. I would come back for just that sauce. I live about an hour from here, but I happened to be in the area, so I wanted to try it. I'm glad that I did. It's not Americanized, which is great!

Once again, we attempted to patronize this establishment. There is one dish that I knew my husband could eat that was low carb. So we decided to try ine more time. Each time we've come it seems that the staff is very distant and unfriendly. I ordered a special for the day, which included what was advertised as dayboat scallops, and jumbo shrimp. Clearly, the shrimp was not jumbo and very overcooked. I needed to cut it with a knife. The scallops, which is one of my favorite seafoods ever, was so gummy that I had to spit it out. It was melting as though it was not fresh. Not melt-in-your mouth as in delicious, but truly made me gag. I could not eat the $25 meal I had ordered. At no time did the waitress come to our table to ask if everything was OK. She waited until it appeared we were finished, and my food was pushed to the side. Then she came with the check. Clearly, this establishment continues to disappoint us. I think, this time, we learned our lesson. Enough money thrown in the trash.

This is one of the best restaurants in the area! Have never had a bad meal here! Some of our favorites are the baked gnocchi, chicken parmigiana, margherita pizza, pecan cranberry salad, burgers and chicken francaise. Love the rolls and pizza bread too! Pretty restaurant and service is always great!

I saw the overall review was a 3.7, so I wanted to be generous, as I was with my tip for something that didn't deserve 20% and never got a thank you from the bartender. So....first of all, we ate ate the bar, they're busy on a Friday night at 5, so you don't expect service as you would get at a table. On a high note, our grilled octopus & raw oysters were both excellent, the soup, pasta fagiiola was very good, but someone in the kitchen using lemon on the Salmon Alla Linda (should be Lemona) of my Swordfish Limona special, should get a hand slapping. That's all you could taste, even the pasta! I swear they must be going through gallons of Real Lemon, even if it says Linda or Limona, steer clear...it killed the main course. The ambiance is very nice, we love the outdoor patio during the summer months too.
