Saffron is an Afghani Cuisine that offers a truly authentic taste of traditional Afghan foods. I loved the huge variety and uniqueness of items offered on the menu! It's a hidden gem of a place that I'll be returning to whenever visiting Cleveland. We started with the Ash soup which was amazingly packed with noodles. It had tasty beef pieces, plums and a yogurt and herb topping. It was so delicious and not to be missed especially on cold days. We then had the various kabob plates; chicken, beef and lamb. The plates were generously portioned and the meats were both tender and flavorful. Fresh afghan bread was served with these as well as a fresh crisp salad. The baklava and tea rounded out the full meal. They offer different types of baklava; pistachio, almond, mixed nuts and they also have firni too. We want to come back and try the Mantu (beef dumplings), signature Kabuli pilau and the saffron tea Very friendly service and the chef is making serious traditional Afghan food.

Nice cozy hole in the wall restaurant. Impeccable vibes, nice decor, great friendly service. I ordered the Qabuli Uzbek Pulao and afghan burger. The Pulao is well seasoned and has a good amount of meat. The raisins and carrots add a nice sweetness. I was surprised by how much I loved the Afghan burger. It's not a traditional burger, but the combination of fries, sausage and egg is so good. Try this spot.

5 stars! I was thoroughly impressed with the delicious food here! I tried the Ash, Challo Kabab (both chicken and kobida), and Manto - each dish was a flavorful reminder of home. The authentic taste and quality of the food truly stood out. Thank you to the team for serving up a taste of nostalgia!

Wonderful authentic afghani food with great service. We really enjoyed the rice and kabob dishes the highlight was also the saffron tea. I recommend supporting this restaurant. It's in its infancy and will only get better with time and support!

I have been wanting to try this restaurant and today was the day! I do want to order and sit down next time but I called in and did pick up. There were two people working and they were super nice. I love how they have tables outside. The food was amazing! I know this place opened a couple months ago and is still new but they did great! Only thing that was interesting was the salad didn't have any dressing so not sure if that is normal? It came with a lime so I think that's it? And the Ash soup had some hard nuts? Pits? Not entirely sure but either or was still good. Never had ash before ! The Mantu was also delicious and the watermelon lemonade was so refreshing. Lastly we got the Saffron Platter and it was great to try different meat and the saffron rice! Giving it a four just since we aren't sure about the salad dressing and the soup nuts!

The staff were amazing. The issue was with the food. I've lived in both Uzbekistan, Pakistan and traveled extensively across Afghanistan and I can say the Palau was so bland. I believe the meat was old, as well. The restaurant was freezing, as I don't think the heat was on. The worst part was the food poisoning and/or norovirus that came after. Days of vomiting, diarrhea, body aches, ten pound weight loss. Some of the meat had a sour flavor. Not a single spice in the Palau. Never, ever again.
