I've have my own small catering business for almost 20 years, I have always got my chicken at Roscoe's. I have never had a problem with any of their products. The chicken is always consistent their seafood alwaysn FRESH frozen and my son was even able to order Kangaroo !!!! It was excellent. The help is always friendly and always able to answer any questions. I really like Amber with a big smile and a great attitude.

Haven't been to Roscoe's an a few years but remember fifty years ago when they still slaughtered the chickens behind the counter and you'd see them flopping around on the floor. Those days are over thanks to the FDA but the store hasn't changed much (a good thing). The store is spotlessly clean, the employees are friendly & helpful, and they carry your purchases out to the car (a nice touch). The seafood looks fabulous; the bacon & smoked meats are tops, and the steaks excellent; but... I just bought forty pounds of chicken wings ($79.95) and they are low quality. They came in a sealed plastic bag from the slaughterhouse so it's not Roscoe's fault but there are lots of broken bones, deformed man-handled wings, pin feathers, undersized, etc.. I get better (much larger too) at Rulli's on South Ave for only slightly more. Hopefully they'll taste good...UPDATE: The wings in their thick plastic bag were soaking in a bloody watery icy broth that smelled vaguely like fish. We washed them one-by-one before vacuum packing them and cooked a dozen or so. I use salt, pepper, and a spicy dry rub before grilling but the fishy taste & smell remained. They're not spoiled or rotten, but the fishy smell & taste is definitely a turn-off and cannot be washed away. Sorry Roscoe's; I really wanted to like these, resume shopping at a Y-town landmark, and feel bad about wasting $79.95 plus two hours of washing, cleaning, & vacuum bagging; but these wings are going in the trash and I as a customer am gone.
