I went to this place recently, hoping for a fun night, since the previous times I have been there it was cool. Well, I'm not sure if it changed ownership or not, but this bar has become awful. If I could give it zero stars I would. There was a female bartender who was rude, condescending, irrational, and provided horrible customer service. When a patron brought this to her attention, she instigated another patron to pick a fight with that person. I CAN NOT emphasize enough how unprofessional this female was. 95% of the bad grade is based on her. I would recommend to anyone considering going to this place to choose to go to literally any other bar in the area until things change. This place will not help you relax and escape the craziness of the world today, it will only make you feel worse about things. If the owner is reading this; please change, and fast.

Back in the day, I used it frequent this place a lot, solo, to relieve stress. I would always know someone there. I would shoot a few games of pool and throw a few back. One day I was gonna go and decided to stay home, someone was thrown through the front window, kinda mad I missed the show, but what are you gonna do..? It was my getaway when things got rough at the lab.I went with my buddy who lives in the apt building I lived in when I used to go there many years ago. Right across the hall, small world. Anyways, it's totally redone, complete renovation. It used to be awkwardly split into two rooms, they opened it up nicely now. A better selection of beers seems to exist now, things changed since then though. I like the crowd here, mostly punks, a few hipsters(these days, what's the difference?

I hope I'm reviewing the place I went to last night.. I definitely spent last night in a bar so why is this place called Richland Cafe. What I especially, most definitely like about this bar is that let you bring in outside food and I was able to bring in my Nashville style hot chicken from Chow Chow down the street. As Chow Chow does not serve beer or booze I recommend you come to Madison for Chow Chow's Southern Food and bring it over to Richland "Cafe" if you want a beer.I enjoyed playing a few rounds of Keno and watching the Golden State Warriors march 1 game closer for going down in history as having the "winningest" season in the NBA EVER. Unfortunately for the city I was visiting, (i.e.,, Cleveland) the Cavaliers lost to the Bulls that same night.

Used to come here years ago and had not stepped foot in here for the past few years but been back now and again recently. The moved the bar to the other side of the place and knocked out a wall. It a lil swankier but still has those beer special posters from the distributor promoting 2.00 Labatt or whetever. Every Lakewood bar has em, for the most part. Servers are always nice and fast. Very young crowd. Great place to stop off for a shot or a beer while waiting for your Cajun gyro to get done next door. Half in the bag...

I would go to the Richland a lot when a friend lived down the street. Richland is a nice bar. The crowd is a good mix of people who I don't really mind drinking with. This is one of the best bars on Madison. A good place to go when you are lonely, bored or want to get out of the house.

Nice place for what it is. Cheap drinks, no food, $1 pool table. Super creepy and disturbing bathroom though...

This bar is okay. I've been here twice and had pretty different experiences.. First time, we were on a bar crawl and loved it. It's really cheap, very divey, which I enjoy. The whole place is really big and open, which is great. We had a good time and came away with no complaints! I went back recently and was less pleased. The bartender seemed to have no idea what was going on.. She didn't know what was on draft and wouldn't turn off the juke box (which nobody was putting money into) to let us listen to a game that was on. There was almost nobody there and the people who were there were all watching the game so it just seems silly not to do what people want. On top of that, the music was really loud and was mostly country.. not really my thing. Still a cheap bar and a nice layout but not thrilled with the situation that night. I'm less excited to go back again.

I play trivia here on Thursdays. The House team always whoops my team's ass. Good prices and good beer selection. I like this bar.

Thursday night $2 all whiskey. Sunday night $2 every liquor. Every day $1 high life drafts. Not to mention fun bartenders and a solid jukebox that will usually not be playing top 40, which definitely appeals to me. My favorite bar in Lakewood, hands down.
