This place should be declared as the Republic of good eats. Winner winner chicken dinner! I got the Roasted Chicken meal with butter gravy and it was out of this world amazing. Recently I had a very negative experience at a famous chicken restaurant in Michigan, that starts with a Z, (#shamlessPlug, check out my page to read about it) and that place nearly ruined chicken dinners for me... but this place saved chicken for me. It was cooked to perfection and seasoned appropriately. The Brussel sprouts and teardrop peppers were unique and delicious. Had I not been following dinner etiquette, I would have gnawed at the chicken down to the bone and forgone utensils. But I'm a civilized human, so I used my fork and knife the entire time. For dessert, the cheesecake with fresh blueberry compote was the proper balance of sweetness and added a decedent texture. The cheesecake itself felt of high quality, with cheese to the equivalent of that sold at Grandpa's Cheese Barn. The cocktail menu offers unique drinks, including fine wines and dessert cocktails. I ordered some blueberry cobbler thing, and it was sweeter than a sugarplum fairy (I saw the nutcracker, so this makes sense to me.) Service was subpar, it wasn't bad, wasn't good. They weren't that busy, and our waitress wasn't near much. I always like my servers to be nearby in case I need to bother them. I always enjoy when they have dad jokes, which were lacking this evening. But that's okay, there's always room for improvement. Buyer beware - strangers might watch you as you eat. Directly across from my table, and through the windows, there was a bar facing our table where an angsty teenager watched me devour my chicken the entire meal. And her laser eyes kept focus on my dinner guests' prime rib and loaded potato. I was convinced she was going to swoop in like a vulture and steal our food. Also, the music in here is quite unique. I'm not sure if they were having technical difficulties, or if AlTunez himself was in the house, but we heard this song "Christmas Rockin'" a while three times consecutively in a row. I have to give them credit, it's a high energy festive song, but by the third time, everyone was at a loss for words. If you haven't noticed the song on loop, you did by the 3rd time. I would suggest giving it a listen, but maybe not three times. The restrooms in this restaurant are some of the best I have been in. They are large, clean, modern and stall doors go down to the floor to offer optimal privacy. There also many mirrors to ensure your outfit looks fire. Finally, this establishment is located next to Playhouse, and connects, thus it makes for a fine dinner location before or after a show. There was a big ass mural with a literal hand pointing to the "Theatre Entrance" yet when we tried to utilize this not so secret door, it literally said "emergency exit only." That's so faulty advertising. Overall, highly recommend. Just watch out for vultures.

Republic is a really convenient option when seeing a show at Playhouse Square. The decor is a very well done nod to its proximity to the theater district. Even though it was packed when we were there, the noise level was lively but not deafening. The beer list was decent with some tasty options.

Great place at Playhouse Square to get a bite to eat! Ate here for a late lunch, and the food was delicious. The burger was cooked to order, nice and juicy. Lettuce and tomato was very fresh, as was the bun too. The fries were delicious too. Substantial portions so come hungry. The server was friendly, helpful, and very attentive. Fun too! Our iced tea and water glasses were refilled before we had to ask for refills. Will come back here to eat. Looking forward to trying items on their dinner menu.

I have been keeping an eye on this place every time I go to see a broadway show. It's usually full and busy but was able to get a table. I was craving some comfort food, so I got the french onion soup and the mac and cheese. Service was timely and staff were great!

While out on an adventure in Cleveland we grew hungry. After surveying the area and Yelp, we decided to stop in here. The positive, Shaved Prime Rib Sandwich and Caesar Salad! Yummy! Average, the Seafood Bisque and French Fries. Actually, a scallop I bit into was still cool. It seemed our server had too many tables or just not experienced. There were periods where we were looking for her, especially when we were jonesing to leave. All total, better than 3 stars.

This was my first time visiting the Republic prior to seeing Hamilton at Playhouse Square. The experience was 10/10 from the second we walked through the door. The hostess and server was excellent and timely. Everything arrived prompt but nothing felt rushed. The food was incredible. The menu is nice and short but all the options sound so good which makes it tough to choose. Everything I tried was incredible -- brussel sprouts, grilled salmon, and caramel apple pie. The drink menu is great as well. The restaurant had a great environment, not too dark or too light and tables spaced out enough to have an intimate dining experience. Will absolutely return and recommend Republic to others!

Nice ambiance but over priced and small portions. Our group of six had various inconsistencies in meal portions, cold/under cooked, and poor bar services. Watched several other tables send food back or ask to speak with a manager.

Zero stars. We waited 45 minutes for our food. Come to find out the waitress never put in our food order to the kitchen. We left because we had tickets to the Nutcracker. We are still waiting for a call back from the district manager of Driftwood.Don't go to Republic restaurant before the show.

The service is shitty, you walk in they act like you are a ghost especially if you work for driftwood. I don't know if because we get a discount on our food they feel as if they can't treat us the same as a normal customer which is werid because we are still spending money .. and when I say they it really be the Caucasian worker, especially the blond emo one that always got a vape in her hand, like put it down and serve me you incompetent. The food is great though they just need to hire a whole new staff. And if the food wasn't great I would just say that and still give 3 stars but when mfs got attitudes as if they aren't at work that's what really pisses me off cause go work somewhere tf else that you can sit on your lazy ass and smoke all day loser. Andy is great btw make sure you leave him a nice tip.

Dined in before going to see Mrs. Doubtfire on a whim. The host was very nice and got us a quick table! Only had about 45 minutes to eat but Caitlin reassured us we would be fine getting to the play on time. Was able to enjoy meal with enough time to eat and a couple drinks each for me and my wife. caitlin recommended a great white wine and introduced my wife and i to a mule! caitlin was very attentive and a great server, kudos to her (we hope she wins!)!
