Every single time I am in the area, I make it a point to stop at the West Side Market. Even if I am driving through Cleveland, I take a quick detour so I can park in the lot, run in and spend 20 minutes going to all the vendors I know and love so I can get things I have come to cherish even though I am not native to Cleveland. Reilly's bakery is one of the finest places to visit when at the WSM. I have come to enjoy their baked goods. One of the finest things ever invented by them is the Cheeseburger Pastie. It is so delicious I basically can eat a handful of them as an oversized meal. This past week we were "in town" to go fishing in Port Clinton (about 70 miles away) but I had a friend drive by so I could get some goodies here. Sadly, at 4 PM on Friday, they were closed. So I didn't get my fix this past trip- but I will be back hopefully in September for some more fishing out of Lorain so I will be coming back...please be ready for me to buy an entire suitcase full of the cheeseburger pasties and maybe some Shepard's pie to mix it up a bit. Support small businesses!

I reilly reilly reilly reilly like this place. Call me, Carly?Wonderful Irish Bakery in the West Side Market. Full of absolutely delicious treats. They have all kinds of stuff here, and even though the Irish do not bake quite as well as the French in general, you will enjoy some of these old world treats. Especially the savoury stuff. My favorites are the shepherd's pies and the meat pies and the pasties but I still have to try a lot more. While you're in the WSM, get a Lemon Sugar crepe from Crepes Du Luxe, a Brat from Frank's, and some spicy jerky from J & J Czuchraj. Yes, I'm reilly serious.

Very rarely will I give one or two stars to a local business because I realize they are just trying to survive. However, I spent a decent amount of money here for a terrible product, so I feel responsible to warn others of my experience.Everything here looks great when you pass by and I had just got back from London and was sort of missing the terrible for you pies, pasties, etc. I couldn't resist stopping our group and insisting we did a little British style snacking. I regret that now ... and $40 later. What we got was dry, overcooked, microwave reheated food. Irish and British food is not the healthiest of fare and not known for it's overabundance of spices. Most authentic Irish pubs in Ireland I've been in use very little salt or seasoning and tourists gripe about the food's blandness. They at least got that part authentic here at Reilly's.We had Scotch Eggs, which are a typical pub snack across the pond. These were made with no care and they used a hard boiled egg which was cooked again while frying, then again in the microwave which made it hard and chewy. Essentially, that egg is being cooked 3 times over a number of hours in that manner. Usually, you soft boil the egg before placing it into the sausage mix so it doesn't get hard and chewy. The sausage exterior was bland and spongy. The panko breadcrumbs on the outside were dry and added to the dryness. It tasted like a chewy egg wrapped in cardboard pieces. No gravy or mustard was served with the cardboard egg making it even worse. The pasties looked fantastic but were also dry and bland. The ingredients didn't feel like they were mixed well and these too were heated in a microwave so the edges were chewy and overdone while the center was on the cool side. Not great. To make things even worse, the clerk shortchanged me when I paid. At that point, it was only a few dollars and I never planned to come back, so I didn't push the issue. A few pasties and scotch eggs cost us almost $40. The prices here are what you'd pay if you were eating fresh food from a pub but instead you get cold, dry, reheated shortcut pub food. I hate to give a local business such low stars but really, it was a waste of $40 plus the extra we were shortchanged so be careful if you decide to eat here.

You're in the West Side Market and there is food everywhere, almost literally. You have no idea what you want to eat and some of the food is raw, so you can't eat that stuff. So you walk by Reilly's Irish Bakery and there are pies and pasties and you're hungry. We talked to the woman behind the counter and asked what was the most popular. She recommended the Shepherds Pie and if I remember correctly, a Corned-Beef Pastie. The Wife got the Shepherds Pie and it was really good. It's basically a pastry shell filled with mashed potatoes and the Shepherds pie filling. I would definitely go back for that.I got the Corned-Beef Pastie and it was okay. For starters, it was pretty dry and it's a good sized pastry; approximately half of a 8-9" circle. The actual pastry was very good. For me, the filling had a little too much cheese and not enough meat.Overall, I'd definitely go back and try some of the other foods and I should have gone back for some of the sweet desserts as well. Definitely worth trying. We did notice that they use Celtic Deli Paper and complimented them on keeping up their branding/theme. The woman behind the counter told us that it was actually coincidence that they were using it as it's what their supplier provides. Just the luck of the Irish, I guess.

Reilly's bakery is delightfully charming. I have a soft spot for Irish culture and love stopping by when I am craving a bite that will take me back to my adventures in Ireland. I recommend trying a variety of offerings, they are all wonderful. With anything from the West Side Market I recommend putting some thought on how you reheat the food you purchase (in response the negative review below.) Some Items taste MUCH better in the oven or better yet the air fryer is a perfect choice. This past weekend I stopped by to pick up a quick gift for a late Saint Patrick's day get together and purchased a bag of the green peppermint chocolate scones. Although they were not fresh out of the oven, with a quick 8 minute reheat they were AMAZING. I highly recommend giving this spot a try, it is very authentic and endearing.

My husband and I purchased 2 corned beef & cabbage dinners to-go the day before St. Patrick's Day, March 16, 2024. They were the worst meals we have ever eaten. We would have thrown them out or returned them for a refund (as one customer did while we were waiting in line), but we were too hungry to do so. The corned beef was tough as shoe leather, and the carrots and the 3 tiny fingerling potatoes were hard as rocks. Not even cooked. Never again. Terrible, and over $20.

The pasties from Reilly's were the hit of a baby shower we just had for my daughter in law. Food was excellent only surpassed by their commitment to the customer.
