Though we live in SE MI & visit the western burbs of Cleveland, always make a stop at Lake Road Mkt for their West Side Salsa. Absolutely fabulous topping on a Denver omelette!!!

Stopped in because I was in pursuit of a specialty drink that is only carried at one other store in the area. I landed on this market because it was bigger and I could do more browsing. First, the parking lot is huge which is a plus. There are also a lot of other little shops on the same street so you can do a bit of exploring and check out other shops which is always fun. Positives: there were a lot of fun items here that I've seen advertised online and have not found before. Niche brands can be hard to find, especially when they are on the health food side. I was impressed at the healthy, high quality food options available. They also have a ton of house made foods, seafood, and awesome looking meats. Also a good selection of local goods and wine. Lots of options that might be different from what you would normally find in a chain grocery store. Not so favorite part: a lot of the produce looked like it had seen better days. Mangos we're starting to shrivel, greens had brown ends, it was a turn off. When I first walked in I got hit with a smell of fruit- which was pleasant. But the closer I got I realized it was because it was about to turn. Fresh fruits and veggies often have a short shelf life anyway but I believe these were past the point of purchase. I'm not sure if it's always this way, but it was bad enough to turn me off to even contemplating purchasing anything in this section which was unfortunate. I will also say that some of the prices were high. This is expected for the specialty health food items I was looking for but I did feel they were marked up even a bit more- which I'm sure is because they are a small, local place. I'd come back here for specialty items or non perishable items but I wouldn't go out of my way to do so. It was fun to explore but between the prices and questions about freshness I'll likely stick with my usual stores.

Great neighborhood store. It does not have as much as a big box store, but it makes up for it in charm and great products. There is always a line waiting for the lunch meat counter and it has some prepared salads and such that are super popular. The produce area is wonderfully filled with ohio grown product.

An old school market. Small. Friendly. And no high prices. I got the chicken salad sandwich and it was very tasty. I also picked up half gallon of apple cider. It's almost like they made it on site. You have to get here. Not a big review. But you will understand why you need to be here. When you get here.

I love this market!! They are so kind and have amazing customer service! I regularly call in to see if they have items or to ask about deli items. We regularly get meat here (love their burger flavors in the summer!). I love they have cut up fruit and great premade salads and sandwiches to grab. They have a great variety of foods considering their size and they have Boar's Head meats and deli items. Quality food, quality service and kindness go along way in my book when choosing a grocer. Definitely check it out and maybe make it a go to for your real grocery items- fruits, veggies and meats.

As amazing as this place is, and how niche perfect their selection is, and how they may not have everything, they will always have something to get you home and save your meal, it's just mind blowing that for a place like this, in a city like this, in a neighborhood like this, there is zero bike parking. Nothing. Macgyver isn't locking up his bike within a half mile of the place. Get a bike rack and you're a 5. Get a street sign or a tree I can throw a u-lock around, you're a 5.Edit: it's not theirs, but the City Girl Donuts next door has added a nice bike rack. So 5 stars now

Best overall grocery experience based on friendly, helpful, locally hired staff, good produce, great deli, and varied assortment differing from the usual big box chains.

This family takes pride in their store. Always stocked with fresh quality produce. The deli carries high end meats and delicious pre-made dinners. They make their own cold pressed fruit juice called Fruit Vibe. The team is always trying out new seasonal flavors. Commander carrot (carrot apple pineapple turmeric ginger and lime) is one of my favorites!

Nice store with many well stocked options. It is small and family owned and they take great pride in helping customers and providing safe, clean conditions. They have a good wine selection as well and even ask if you don't see one of your favorites. I love it also because I am lucky enough to be able to walk/bike as long as my shopping list isn't too large. Support local stores.
