Red's Lakehouse

Service 1st, there were only 2 other tables with customers at 4:15 when we arrived. The host was not very welcoming. The server was even less welcoming. She was unaware of happy hour prices for draft beer. She had to go check to make sure I got the happy hour price. My wife ordered an entree with a side salad. It sat on the server station until both our meals were ready. I questioned the server about why the salad was not served prior to the meal, I didn't know you wanted it sooner was her answer. We started eating and I ordered another beer. It sat at the bar for about 5 minutes while our server was visiting with her co-workers. All in all, service was terrible, food was average at best, and prices were on the high side which would have been okay if service and food quality were what we expected. Not sure where the high ratings come from. It was a very Applebees experience. Not sure we'll be going back.

We are not locals but visit often. We were excited to try Red's. A couple of things were a little deceptive though. First-- it's not lakeside. No view of the water, just a patio facing the parking lot. And secondly, the menu online is not the menu served. That bothered me big time! And, it's a rather small menu. No kids choices either, so keep that in mind. I wouldn't call it family place. Ok, my review--the decor is nautical and well done, the service was fast and efficient, the food was good, and the restrooms, clean. We ordered the perch sandwich, very tasty, and also the chicken wings were good. However, when the menu says it comes with celery--it should. When the wings arrived, I asked about the celery and was told they were out. Why didn't the chef send someone out to the grocery store and buy celery? And why wasn't I told that they were out of celery when I ordered the wings? It's a small grievance,I know. But it still bothered me.Most likely, we will go back, we know what to expect now.

Oh, we loved this restaurant and bar. Music, plenty of parking, lovely setting, two floors, super friendly people, lovely staff, clean, and the perch sandwiches were great. The fried pickles were great. Not so big on the perogies. I will dash those off the list and choose something else next time, but it's a cute place to kick back, eat, and relax!

This is personal favorite. A friend took me here for dinner. I was presently surprised, not you typical tourist dinning. Was so impressed I researched the owners. They have a unique business model for which they have lived up to and more. Very open, plenty of seating, both inside and out. The menu items may seem nothing special but how they are prepared and the ingredients they use is what makes this restaurant different. I had the Chorizo Smash Burger and fries, nice kick, not over the top, gave the burger a unique taste. Wait staff is very welcoming. Didn't have to wait as a walk in, but you can make reservations. Had very nice dinning experience that was affordable. It's what you would expect when dinning out. I'll look forward to visiting again on my next visit to the Ohio lake shore. Plenty of free parking. Restroom are very clean too.

Food Walleye bites - they were awesome. Lobster bisque - so good!! Nice spice taste. YumLobster BLT - delicious!!!(yes we know there are no lobster in this water but still we ordered 2 lobster dishes) Gorgeous place - all open in the nice weather Clean, bright and white. Bathrooms were spotless Service is good too. All their perch is caught daily from Lake ErieNice place! Would definitely come back

The ambiance is amazing, so is the service, and the food was delicious!! We got the Cobb salad, burger, and pizza. Everything hit the spot. Also love how the ranch was homemade (or at least tasted like it) Thanks for having us!!

A much needed spot in Marblehead. Nice to see a trendy and vibey new spot opening up near the islands.

A surprisingly modern new addition to Lakeside Marblehead.Red's Lakehouse is located at on the south side of Lakeside Marblehead near, uh, well, nothing? I can't think of a new restaurant/bar over there in, uh, well, ever? The building is brand new and features overhead doors and openings all around, with a central bar and hostess stand flanked on both sides by ample dining space, and an outdoor patio on one side. It looks like your rich friend's uncle's 3rd cousin's lakehouse, clad in white shiplap and a massive liquor wall.Service was good and servers were in abundance. We mainly drank and ate appetizers so I can't speak about the whole menu. Drinks: wide bourbon selection including Old Forester, cocktail list was eclectic and we had Lakehouse Lemonade but it was lighter on the booze. Walleye bites were big chunks of walleye, maybe the largest I've seen, but it's definitely light appetizer for 2 at the most.Overall, Red's Summerhouse is a welcome addition to summer.

It'd been on our list to visit Reds since they opened but hadn't made it until last night. It was Veterans Day so it was a special occasion for me being a veteran. It was a 5/5 experience. It's a gorgeous building (you can see the service station it had previously been on a large poster near the restrooms). Ample parking. The staff were courteous and our server was awesome which is a post-Covid phenomenon any more. He was very attentive and when my husband ordered his entree, which was a special, he let us know that it was the "last one". The devices the servers use to place orders is able to update them to let them know an available quantity in real time. Upon hearing that I then decided I was ordering chicken paprikas. The kids split a pizza. Everything came out promptly, correctly, and was hot. My husband always gets cold fries so he was pumped he didn't have to ask for fresh ones! The pizza was amazingly good also. The paprikas was wonderful and had a slight twist on a classic dish that was spot on. Oh I forgot we ordered the pierogi appetizer. Upon seeing it was only an order of 2 for $12 we were a little disappointed. But after the first bite we were blown away. I've made pierogi for years and eaten them for decades. These are THE BEST we have found in Ohio. Reds serves these that are made from Pierogi Outpost in Sandusky. I placed an order with the company before finishing mine and we pick them up today to serve at thanksgiving! And last but not least, to the kind & unknown couple who paid our check before they left, thank you. It was unexpected and made a special night out really memorable.

Solid choice in Marblehead Ohio. Stopped in on a hot hot 90+ day to enjoy a cold brew and lunch. Draft beer from immigrant son (IPA) and Catawba Island (Hot Blonde) perfectly quenched our thirst. I had the perch sandwich and fries with gf bun. Very tasty sammie and I loved the salty fries too. Hubby enjoyed a pepperoni pizza--outstanding!Homemade taste--the crust, the sauce, cheese and pepperoni so good. Seems like a newer place, it is clean and nicely decorated. Very large space with outside seating options and they probably open the large windows on cooler days. Nice service too.
