Red Lantern Japanese Cuisine

Went to my nephew's first kindergarten concert with my mom and wanted to find a cool spot to go after within the West Park neighborhood. Red Lantern fills a void for Japanese cuisine in the Lakewood and west side of Cleveland area. The sushi, hibachi, service and everything else was great! The prices were more than fair and we greatly appreciated the evening. Voodoo Tuna always seems packed and popular, I would recommend this place for somebody looking for a change. Hope the business does well.

Food is pretty cheap and good portioned here! The restaurant is understaffed and the waiter was running to clean and serve the entire place himself while someone else was behind the bar and sushi area. I felt bad because they were working so hard but we were still in and out within an hour which was impressive. Great casual eats with many Japanese food options for a good deal.

The picture speaks for itself. A generous portion of vegetables, chicken, and shrimp, with fried noodles. The Miso soup was delicious! The food tasted fresh. My servers were very friendly. The atmosphere was laid back. I will return.

Stopped in while visiting Cleveland for the Browns game. Happened to be the reopening! Great sushi and hot sake! Reachyl (apologies for the spelling) was great, and handled the bar patrons, and seated guest! I had the Eel roll, shrimp tempura roll, and the chicken gyoza. Great food, and would definitely come back when I'm in the area.

I will start with the good things.. I called to place a pickup order and the girl was very nice. My order was correct, warm and packed nicely. The crab rangoons were very good as was the sweet spicy sauce they came with. I have a sore throat and wanted some rich yummy beef broth ramen but it was just a total miss for me. The broth tasted like seaweed and I paid 5$ extra for steak and got 2 weird cut fatty pieces. Was not a fan at all of the ramen which is a shame it looked so good. Wish the broth tasted more like beef and less like seaweed. Was pretty expensive and I ended up throwing most of it out. I would come back and try the sushi or hibachi though.

Went here for the first time recently. I remember the Red Lantern in its previous incarnation, so this was a refreshing look at the space. We sat at the bar to watch the sushi action and were warmly welcomed by the staff. We got salads and sushi, and everything was fresh and delicious. The boba tea hit the spot on a blazing hot day, too.

Ordered two ramens and one appetizer. Shumai dumplings arrived to the table steaming hot and were tender with a very tasty sauce. Both ramens were excellent. The #1 Red Lantern Bowl lived up to the name sake. The Pork Cha-Shu was perfect - like a thing charred slice of bacon. The #2 Tonkotsu bowl was also excellent. The broth for each was perfect - savory but not too salty. The server was very friendly and answered all our questions about the items on the menu. The inside is very modern with beautiful ceramic plates and dishes. Give it a try!

My husband and I tried this new sushi restaurant this evening. We're so glad we did. The space is a newly remodeled restaurant. The staff were so nice, friendly and accommodating. Alcohol prices were extremely reasonable with beautiful wine selections. Wine mark up was more than fair. Sushi was very delicious with reasonable prices. Selection was fresh. Ramen was generous and flavorful. Brought home hibachi for my son who said it was delicious. Hope this restaurant thrives at Kamms. We need a more good ones and we plan on visiting frequently.

EXCELLENT!!! They catered an event for us & it was FANTASTIC!! Everything was delicious & beautifully prepared. The owner/manager was so kind & helpful assisting me with the menu. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a place to dine! Definitely a gem!!

Sushi was mid - would not go back for the sushi but would def go back for ramen. Ramen was great!!! Calamari was not edible, do not recommend. Gyoza was good Service was great & friendly Nice atmosphere, better than I expected from the outside!
