Quarry Cafe

We drove out of our way to this little gem, after deciding not to wait 30 minutes for a table at another big corporate chain restaurant. Best. Decision. Ever. The woman who seated us was doing it all -- hostess, server, cashier, table busser. And yet we didn't feel neglected, because somehow she made it look easy. It didn't hurt that the food was absolute perfection, either. Perfectly cooked eggs, crispy home fried potatoes, well done sausage (as requested), and the best apple pancake I've had since I was a kid. We will be back next time we are in the Amherst area!

This establishment was a wonderful throw back to small town diners that used to be so common across the country. Staying in downtown Amherst, we could see the locals checking in each morning and decided to have breakfast there as well. The food was exactly as one would expect - quick, tasty, and very reasonably priced. The staff was friendly and efficient and the place was full of old articles about the town history. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience Amherst as it was and still is.

You go back to Mayberry in this home town breakfast cafe-diner. Welcoming and you can't eat for those prices anywhere else.

Quarry Cafe is the ideal hometown diner. It's about as quaint as it gets; fresh coffee, and the food is cooked with love. I like to come here when I have family in town because we get quality service for amazing hometown food. I feel happy knowing that every dollar I spend here goes right back into my community; I hope this place never goes away.

We just love Quarry Cafe. I spent several months in the area caring for my mother going through cancer treatments. It was the easy in, curb side parking she could handle. The food is good and very economical. I kind of miss the place since I'm back in Florida!

Servers are great especially Karen. Food was palatable and warm. Place was clean. And was attentive to your needs.

Each time service gets worse. We will not be back. Waitress staff can be nice at times but they need help. Last visit 07-23-21 the place was not busy but still took forever to just get drinks and then never ever asked for a refill on coffee.. seriously its a coffee shoppe! Had to beg for a second cup of coffee. Then finally took our order and when they finally came to the table 1/2 was brought out ( we were a table of 5) 3 people got "some "of their food the other 2 didn't get any of their food. Was told that she would bring toast in a bit along with the other orders..... 10 minutes later still no toast as we watched that very waitress go outside for her 2nd smoke break Come back in and take another tables order and give them their coffee and then served another table of 3 that had arrived 15 minutes after us their food and decided to clean some silverware all BEFORE giving us our toast and the other orders. so half our table had some of their food and finished before 2 in our table even got their food. When it was time to finally leave.... guess what, another smoke break for one of them and the other disappeared somewhere in the back. We had to stand at the counter and ask for boxes and paid and left. You can respond all you want but know this is a true representation of what happened. Some people swear by this place - go in and see for yourself.. This place could be good. be mad all you want say i'm not patient cheap whatever, but this is precisely what transpired. I know we are not the only one that feels this way.
