Primer Coffee & Cocktail Bar

Had a large Americano prepared by Nick. Very good and super hot. Made on a nice new espresso machine. Bottle of water and glass of ice (no charge). Definitely will be back when I stay in the area.

I met a friend for coffee around 10a on Sunday morning at Primer. It was my first time at Primer. I did drive by the turn in. I did not expect it to be part of a large lifestyle center development.It has been open for a while, but there is still tons of building going on around. The entrance did not say Primer, instead it had a Canvas sign. That was confusing. When we first arrived there were not many people but after about 30 minutes more people arrived.The decor was cozy despite the coffee shop being very large. There were not many pastry choices. My guess it is much busier as a cocktail bar in the evenings.

This coffee place is located inside of an apartment building, so it can be a little tricky to find. The building itself didn't have a sign for the coffee shop, as far as I could tell. When you walk into the apartment building, there is also a shared workspace there as well. So there were quite a few people there working and meeting. It was nice to see a hustle and bustle, but I felt almost like at a hotel conference or college campus or something!Ordering was a little tricky too, as you just go up to the bar an order. There's not like a designated place to order, as far as I could tell. So if the bar was all full, it would be really awkward to order for a coffee setting! There was only one person working, so service was really slow. Which I didn't mind, but I also wasn't there working! I wasn't quite sure where I could enjoy my coffee either, since I didn't want to be in the way of any of the shared working groups and meetings. My coffee was DELISH though! I had a hazelnut latte. It was so good! The barista was very nice too. And it's pretty cool that the place is a cocktail bar in the evenings too !

I purchased my typical espresso macchiato here. Presentation was average, but the flavor was good. What I loved about this place is the atmosphere and sitting spaces. They have a lot of good workstations. They have computer screens available for use. They have private meeting rooms available. Lots of big windows. It's a very inviting uplifting refreshing space. The barista was amazing. The barista was very friendly and talkative and inviting. She really cared about making a good cup of coffee or espresso. They seem to be dog friendly as long as you have a well-behaved well groomed pet. This facility is part of an apartment complex and then on the first floor corner of the building next to the pool area is the Coffee house. If I'm remembering, right the building itself is called canvas.

Beautiful, intimate feeling spot for a delicious cocktail. Great service, too. Would love to see a jazz trio in that space! Make it a Velvet Tango Room!
