Presti's Bakery

What isn't there to love about presti's! Whether you visit in the summer, sitting street side or in the winter bundled up inside the bakery, there is never a wrong time to pull a ticket and wait your turn. The array of cookies, by the pound or just a few, will blow your mind. Everything is fresh, house made and authentic. The counter staff are knowledgeable and patient, especially when you cannot decide between gelato or a coconut bar. So when in little Italy, go to Presti's and order a lemon bar, cappuccino or a slice pizza you will never be disappointed.

I read the reviews before coming. We had already tried the other Bakery in the area and were disappointed so we had high hopes this would be a different experience. While the pastries tasted a bit fresher that was the only positive I can say about this establishment. Most businesses want your business, especially these days. Here you feel like an inconvenience. Unless you have a number and are being served no one talks to you. If you need something afterwards, to ask a question, you have to wait in line again no matter how long that is. Everything is disorganized. No one knows what they're doing. This is Little Italy and an Italian Bakery. I would expect to be able to get a great Cappuccino. It was terrible. It tasted old, burnt and watered down. We tried twice to get a decent cup thinking maybe it was a fluke but it wasn't. The machine itself looked as though it hadn't been cleaned in awhile. Unfortunately, we didn't notice that until after we had gotten our Cappuccinos and drank them.We ordered several Cookies and Pastries. The Pignoli cookies were decent and chewy. The Lobster Tail w/Amaretto Cream was good on the outside. The inside tasted more like vanilla pudding than custard and not quite like Amaretto or even Almond flavoring. It was just ok. The German chocolate cake tasted like a boxed cake with shelf bought frosting.* Now for the really ugly about our experience. I hope that someone will pay attention and fix these issues as it's unacceptable and dangerous to people's health. It's hard having to write this in a review. However; I feel obligated to do so. There were various food items left out. Sandwiches, Pizzas, Fish and Chicken Sandwiches sitting on the counters up above on a shelf above the Coolers, that clearly need refrigeration. Pasta and Breaded Chicken Cutlets sitting in containers next to that.These items were sitting out when we arrived, stood in line for awhile waiting to order. While we ate and when we left an hour later. I have no idea if this is a common experience as this was my first time here.

Located in Little Italy of OH, this charming bakery has a lot to offer. From a variety of pastries, to pizza and sandwiches, and ice cream to finish off a sweet tooth, this bakery did not disappoint. Visiting the area, I had to stop at this comfy place to check it out. Plenty of seating inside and great for groups if you consolidate tables. It's a self seating restaurant and finding seats for our party of 9 was easy. They had a lot to offer whether you want a full meal or just a snack or coffee. The only thing that they can improve is the details of service. After they asked me for my order, they went back and got my order, then called me back at the "same" register to ring me up....all the same time while a new customer is at that same register trying to order and a second customer with food was also waiting to be rung up. My suggestion is ring us up after we give the order, then deliver the food at a "different"counter. This would eliminate the crowd at the one counter.

A great place to visit in Little Italy. Huge selection of cookies, cannoli and pastries along with savory items like pizza and stromboli. Plenty of seating for in store dining.

So many beautiful desserts to try. We opted for a cookie variety box and each one was lovely. I would have liked to have tried more. The food in the case looked delicious but we were eating elsewhere. Will definitely try the next time we're in town.

Our experience at Presti's was excellent. We really enjoyed the honey biscotti and the original cannoli, which had orange zest in the cream. The cappuccino with soy milk was also very good. The bakery uses a ticket counter system which was useful because we could just place our order when our number was called.

One of my coworkers brought a box of Presti's pasteries in to the office last week, and mentioned that the breakfast sandwiches looked great, so, naturally, we went for a visit after Saturday yoga. I had already sampled the pecan roll from the box at work, and it was very good - not too sweet, plenty of pecans. On Saturday morning, the place was hopping. You have to take a ticket like at a deli counter. There are 3 menus and a deli case to peruse while you're waiting (coffee, pastries, and gelato), all lined up across the wall, but not together, so you'll have to move around to see all of the options. I ordered a vanilla latte and one of the egg and cheese sandwiches. As I was paying, one of the staff was unloading the sfogiatelle into the bakery case, so I got one of those too. The coffee was super hot and on the sweet side, but it hit the spot. The sandwich was just OK - the croissant was good, but it since it was assembled in the case and heated in a press/grill, it was a little dry and needed something else. The pastry was great - the phyllo cracks when you bit it, an absurd amount of powdered sugar that gets everywhere, and a lemony creamy filling. We were able to snag a table by the window pretty quickly. We were impressed by the price of our breakfast - it was under $20 each for the pastry, sandwich, and coffee. For sure a fun place to visit again!

The Good:-wide bakery selection with beautiful presentation-love their late hours so full time working people can actually buy stuff without taking a vacation day for it...gosh, the number of bakeries that close at 1pm/2pm and all of Sunday...how do working peeps get to enjoy fresh baked treats?!The Bad:-super high prices. Higher than bigger city prices in Toronto, NYC, Philly, Chicago, etc. bakeries! -no prices marked on any product. This is such an a$$hole move of any business. Make it an extra step for the customer to ask for each item's price or just to sticker shock them when everything is scanned and they are not prepared for the total-service. The young man behind the counter was pretty rude and impatient. He refused to serve me without a ticket (it was my first time here and nobody in front of me so I wasn't holding up anyone) and then was curt when I asked him questions about a few of the pastry flavors-organization/logistics. Speaking of the ticket system, I know at busier times, a ticket system is the way to go (from experience at the Strip District at the Italian market) but then either place the dang machine RIGHT at the entrance facing customers to force them to take a ticket before entering the store or be nicer and prompter about reminding them at the counter. When I stopped by in the evening on a Wednesday, there were only 3 other customers in the store and they were already waiting for their order. There was no one in front of me so I went straight to the counter to give my order. The worker there interrupted my order and told me to get a ticket even though he could have just served me since there were literally no others ahead of me...by the time I grabbed a ticket and went back to the counter, a small crowd of people had gathered before me...womp womp. -no parking because it's Little Italy and parking is always a nightmare-taste of their items is only okay. The cream puff was good but it's almost $7 and not very big. I'm longing for German Village's giant cream puffs that could feed 3 people for only $5 in Columbus but this is NOT it.

Heaven has a Presti's Hands-down the best tiramisu on the planet. Light as a cloud. Italian cookies and biscotti so scuola vecchia that you just don't see them in bakeries, an endangered species already. They do sandwiches and breads and pastas, but gli dolce are what I'd travel half way across the country to taste. Coffee is good. It's counter service and always a mad house in there. It's part of the experience!

I've heard a lot about Presti's Bakery since I've moved to Cleveland. I decided to make the trip after an exhausting work day. When I walked in, it was a little confusing if I need to get a ticket number to get my order taken or if I can just speak to the one of staff members. As I browsed across the large variety of pastries, cakes, and cookies (and a few savory items), one of the staff members behind the case took my order. I got a slice of cheese pizza, tiramisu, raspberry thumbprints and raspberry linzers. The slice of cheese pizza was honestly depressing. It mimics a low quality cheese pizza chain -- the sauce was great but the crust and the cheese was giving lunchable pizza vibes. It was $2 dollars but honestly...wasn't even worth it for me. I would rate it a 1/5.2 raspberry linzers and 2 raspberry thumbprints were $4 total. I would say kind of expensive for how small those are but hey if they were good, I would still buy it! Unfortunately, I'm not a fan. I was expecting a almond based cookie or shortbread cookie with raspberry filling but I got a weird lemony taste with a raspberry filling. It's not terrible but definitely unexpected and not my favorite. Personally, 3/5.And for the most reviewed item, the tiramisu. I don't know what authentic tiramisu necessarily tastes like but out of all of the tiramisus I've had, this was definitely in the top 5. The mascarpone was so creamy but didn't feel too heavy. It wasn't overall sweet or too bitter, honestly the ideal combination of flavors. 5/5 in my opinion. Overall, Presti's didn't live up to the hype. Out of all the items I've had today, I would only really come back for the tiramisu. If I do come back for whatever reason, I would probably try the artichoke pizza but very unlikely.
