This place is incredible. Found it via a Google search because when I am down in Akron visiting my mom I like to make some good dishes and get her some good meat to stow away avoiding the typical sketchy grocery store mystery offerings. Wow have I been impressed. It's close to the Goodyear airdock. My third time now. I prefer the old school butcher quality control. Their beef comes from a local farm and obviously no middle man. Pretty much any cut you can imagine. You want something else or a cut bigger/smaller? They will make it happen. I took home $45 worth of meat which would be at least $60 elsewhere. 5 lbs of nice and leaner ground beef, a 3.5 lb arm roast (short ribs attached), knockwursts, smoked andouilles, Polish sausage, ground pork, goose liver, etc. A steal! I'll be back around Christmas I'm sure for another round.

This store is an odd throwback to what things must have been like in the 1950s. Old men with paper restaurant hats are slinging giant sides of beef around on massive chains and slicing meat apart on giant bandsaws. Everything is rolled up in white paper and stuffed into brown paper bags for you. The brick building has a sense of pride like it has weathered many storms. They take credit cards, but it feels like they just discovered how to do it. You feel like you don't quite belong in here, but you are definitely welcome. And there will always be other customers there, no matter what time of day you go in - I guess that is a good sign. The operation is definitely clean, but keep in mind that as with any butcher shop, you might find the smell in the air a tad acrid. The prices seemed fair, and the meat was fresher than I could get at nearby grocery stores.

If you just drove by without knowing anything about this place you probably would not stop. From the outside it looks awful. Gravel parking lot, concrete block with bad paint, dirty looking windows, and an entry way that is not inviting. But the reviews are right. It is an old fashioned meat market with lots of cuts you cannot find in supermarkets. People are friendly and the prices reasonable. Where else to find slab bacon? A pile of St Louis ribs? Freshly butchered meats, nothing in pre-packaged trays. And you can get custom butchering as well. I deduct a star for the failure of the owners to appreciate that the way a place looks matters.

Pressler's has been supporting our annual Sugarbush Pancake Breakfast at the Chatham VFW for years. We order 100's of pounds of sausage and bacon every week for the month of March. The number of positive comments and compliments we receive every week is amazing. Folks love their sausage recipe and we can't thank them enough. Delivery is always on time and as ordered.

Old fashioned butcher shop where you can get things the big box supermarkets won't or can't carry. Go mid-week if possible. They are busy on Saturday! Beef, pork, veal, lamp, duck, chicken, etc. I am partial to beef tongue. Bought four on this visit, fresh, not frozen. They carry some smoked products as well as items for dogs. Some spices and condiments as well. The display cases contain a nice variety and it all looks so fresh! Definitely worth a visit. I've become a regular.

My in-laws come here ALL the time for their meats and various other products - including the dog bones. I have been the happy recipient of prime rib and various types of sausage from here, all of which have been quality. We also buy their rub by the pound, which I use to make baby back ribs here at home in Columbus.

We've been buying meat from Pressler's for YEARS! BEST smoked meats anywhere! We ship their smoked kielbasa to our friends in Oregon several times a year! We've tried various types of smoked sausage from other shops and markets from time-to-time; but the ONLY smoked meats in our freezer now come from Pressler's! Across the board, their fresh meats and sausages are unbeatable, too!
