I stopped by here a couple of Sundays ago with my parents, wife and twins. We happened to be visiting Port Farms on this afternoon and I got excited whenever I noticed that Poverty Knob Farmhouse Ales was right next door. This brewery is located in a big barn like building with super high ceilings. It has both indoor and outdoor seating and on the day that I was there they had live music as well. On this day for my beer I ordered directly at the bar but for my food I ordered from the QR code that was at each table. As I often do whenever I visit a new brewery I went with a flight here. At poverty Knob you got to choose 4 different 4 oz pours for $12. I ended up choosing the midnight lager, spruce almighty, obstructed view and brown eyed girl for my beers. First up for me was the Brown eyed girl which was an American stout. It was smooth with a hint of sweetness at the finish. Second was the Obstructed view hazy IPA which was a true ipa with lots of strong hops coming in at the finish. Up third was the spruce tip IPA Spruce almighty. It felt more like an English ipa as it was mild and sadly I didn't get any spruce tips flavor from it. Last but certainly not least was the schwarzbier named Midnight lager. This beer had some sweetness at the start with those roasted malt flavors coming in at the finish. Out of the bunch, I would choose the midnight lager and obstructed view as my favorites. Then for food, my wife and I ordered a chips platter and a pizza. The chips had a drizzle with bacon, blue cheese and scallions while our flatbread had arugula, honey and prosciutto on it. While I was expecting to like the flatbread more, I ended up liking the chips more. The shareable portion size was absolutely massive and I appreciated the pungent blue cheese with the bacon and balsamic drizzle. Our chips were super crispy as well which helped. Then our flatbread was also good and I enjoyed the salty/peppery/sweet combo from everything that was on top.The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I enjoyed most of my beers here and thought that our chips were excellent.

Service was great at the bar with a very friendly atmosphere. Good beer, wine and food options. Finally a reason for the younger generation to visit the Waterford. I hope more business follow the example set by Port Farms.

If your going to the Port Farm knob brewery from Erie- and want to find a beer to fill your growler - you will not be able to. They do not offer growler fills. The dumbest policy and worst business model. How do you spread the word to people that like their beer if you can not take home a growler. Just dumb business. Do not go there.

Overall pretty good. Beer is decent. Nothing outstanding for a beer guy like me, but definitely a nice variety. Bartender was painfully slow. The space is very nice and has a bar, lots of seating, and a fireplace. Some games like foosball and some hockey are a nice touch. The food was the highlight. Cuban was delicious and homemade chips a nice change from fries. It's a 3.5, but I'll round to a 4.

First of all it is way out in the country, which I am sure is beautiful in the day light. We were there on a dark night in mid December. The building was modern and had a nice decor. There were games like foosball, and hockey on the floor scattered throughout, which I thought was a nice touch. There was even a bin of board games to play while you wait. There were quite a few craft beer selections, including seltzers. They were interesting flavors and they tasted good. You can pay cash for the beers. The food menu was limited, but offered enough choices to satisfy most people. You can not however, pay cash for the food items. Hopefully that changes. The method of ordering involved scanning a QR code, and I was a tad unfamiliar with the process. But the food was very good. The place had a fun, trendy young vibe to it and we will definitely be back on a sunny summer or fall day to take in the country scenery.
