Polansky’s Meat Market

I love Polansky's! Have been coming here for many years when I'm in the area. I live about a half hour away but when I'm around I'm always sure to stop. Staff is always helpful and friendly. Atmosphere is just a small town country market which is what I grew up with as a kid. Their smokies are TOP NOTCH! So good and available in like 8 different flavors. Huge selection of fresh meats and cheeses. They also have a freezer section that offers all kinds of goodies including the old Fiestada pizzas from school!

Polansky's Meat Market has a great selection of beef, poultry, pork, cheese, etc. The items are always fresh! Their stewing chickens make the best chicken soup ever! Just great stuff! So good to have a local, long time family butcher!! Prices are reasonable too!

Old fashioned meat marketIf your looking for a butcher shop that still does everything the old fashioned way this the the shop for you. It's an unassuming out of the way building. So watch for the sign when driving. Plenty of parking. Upon entering the market on the right hand side is a few freezers with food products and shelves with items to compliment your meat selection. There are no fruits or vegetables. The other side of the store has a meat counter with a variety of chicken, beef, and pork options. I got a variety of chicken, bacon and pork. The bacon was delicious. The only confusing part for first timers to the market is that they keep all your meat behind the counter until you are done selecting and then they take them all up to the register.

Whenever one reads reviews of the best NE Ohio paprikas, the same half-dozen places or so always come up (and most are in Parma). Someone recently gave me a quart of Polansky's and it is by FAR the best I've had since my Grandmother passed decades ago. We will be making many trips to Amherst in the future for sure! Just FABULOUS!!!

This is my favorite meat market close to home. Their meats are fresh and reasonably priced. My favorite is the beef tenderloin for our special occasions. They cut them to order if you buy a whole tenderloin and grind the extra into the best ground burger meat. They also have a deli department for pasta salads, potato salad, and cubed cheeses.

Friendly service, but I feel their deer processing cost is a bit high. Also, wasn't too happy when the person bringing my order to the car didn't have a mask on.

As far as butchers go - it's a one-stop shop. There's no limits to what you can purchase at one time and the staff is happy to assist in loading your purchase into your vehicle for you. Have a large order like I did? Call ahead and they will have everything pre-packed and ready to go. Excellent service keeps me coming back!

Great hidden gem for fresh cuts of meat. An old style butcher shop. Fast friendly service

Great selection, quality meats, but service is not the best. I had a few items to purchase, less than 5 small items, placed them on the counter, the female clerk would not check me out saying I had to wait for other customers with their large meat orders. The customers told her to let me go ahead, she refused which puzzled everyone, so I left. Clerk had no common sense much less respect for the customers. My first and last time visiting this business.

This review relates to a December 2019 experience. I feel obligated to do my part to reflect the reality of this place, especially since my parents informed me that they still shop there.The short of it: Polansky's steak gave my wife and I E. coli--a very bad, very fast onset case.I suppose this can happen with any butcher. But, so you're aware: it happened here.
