Ready for the Great Outdoors? Pioneer has a camping theme throughout, from the canoe photo opp, to the stacked cords of firewood, to the grilled meats, to the cast iron skillets that come out bubbling hot...you'll feel like you are on a camping trip where you don't have to rough it. I dare not say glamping, nothing pink nor neon to be found, but rugged tables, rustic knives, and grub that you might serve round an open fire.It was crowded and loud. There was a large group playing tabletop Jenga, we were next to the pop-a-shot that was constantly in use, but we went with the flow. We started with Pioneer Cauliflower Bites that were batter fried and came with Pioneer Sauce (red and spicy) and ranch. These were crisp and seasoned and the cauliflower was tender inside.We shared the Campfire Steak and Fries, which had a good flavor but was slightly overcooked (all weekend our meat has been overdone). The Crispy Brussels were crispy, smoky and charred just right. The Mac and cheese was amazing, rich and bubbling and super cheesy with crusty cheese on top. (I think this is Pioneer's best dish). We finished with a skillet cookie, topped with a scoop of ice cream with molten chocolate sauce. Food was ok, server was overworked covering several large tables, and some dishes took a long time to come out. The camping theme is fun and the wings and burgers looked good. There's a large patio and Airstream trailer outside that looks like a fun time in nicer weather.

I made a reservation at Pioneer to watch the Browns game with my college friends. Starters Including the Buffalo, chicken dip, and fried pickles made for a great start to the game..... if only we had a team. I also got a burger which came with caramelized onions and sweet pickles. Atmosphere is unmatched. Patio complete with cornhole and food truck makes for a fun place to hang with friends. I tried an orange cream soda cocktail as well as a pineapple express. They make a mean drink.

Came here as part of the 2023 Cleveland Wing Week celebration. Wife and I shared a few items including crispy Brussels sprout appetizer, some dry rub wings and a Pioneer smashburger.Atmosphere was super-lively with both indoor and outdoor activities going on along with many TVs with sports running continuously. We sat indoors, but with all the garage doors open it was airy and fresh.As for the food...Brussels were hearty, wings were just okay as neither of us really cared for their dry-rub preparation (or the sauces) and the Pioneer smashburger with grilled onions was good but fries were undercooked.May have to give them another try to see if the food quality was just an anomaly that night.

Stopped by to grab and drink and were surprised by the size. There is plenty of seating inside and out with some fun games inside to play. We ordered a couple beers. There wasn't a huge draft list but we were all able to find something we could enjoy. We didn't look at the food menu but even if you're only looking for drinks, this is a nice place to stop by.

had a great dinner at Pioneer last night. We had the pioneer wings which have a nice heat and tang to them. They're very tender and have a smokiness from being on the wood fire.We ordered the steak fries, mac and cheese with pulled pork and bacon toppings, a side salad, and the brussels sprouts. The steak and fries were delicious. Fries were crispy and quite salty. The macaroni and cheese had a wonderfully rich, béchamel sauce that stuck to all the pasta. There was a generous portion of pulled pork and bacon on the cast-iron skillet that the pasta came in. The brussels sprouts were a little overdone for my taste, but still very delicious.The service was great. It's a sports bar environment so be prepared for a bit more noise. Great energy, great food, great vibes!

Came on a Tuesday night with less than 3 tables occupied and was immediately approached by a rude gentleman behind the counter. He said that if we have more than 7 people, we would only be allowed one bill. That is their policy. We were then going to split up our party and the same gentleman said that would not be allowed to do that. That left us with either leaving or getting one bill. Our one friend ended up leaving Pioneer, so that our table would be less than 7 people, which is honestly ridiculous!! I have never heard of an establishment turning customers away. Our server Lora L was very kind, so that's where this 1 star comes in. I gave Pioneer a second chance at their food and was again not blown away. If you're looking for overpriced bar food, this is your place.

Pioneer is in a perfect location directly across from the west side market. The restaurant decor is that of a camping theme. Server Ben was very nice and did his best to accommodate my diet needs. The restaurant honestly doesn't have many options for vegans. I got a basic house salad with no bacon. It's served with an herb vinaigrette. The vinaigrette was unlike any dressing. It was so thick almost gelatinous it wouldn't even pour out of the container. It would be quite tasty if it was an actual vinaigrette. Highlight of my visit they carry Athletic NA beer. I love having an option in a can. Give a try if your diet isn't restricted!!

Refused me service. Like straight up didn't know these places existed anymore. I was not rude, was dressed fine, was with a group of people and made no rude comments. We had two kids in our party and I think they just didn't want to serve us. Management refused to speak to me about it later. I will never ever go here. Shame on you, Pioneer. I hope you permanently close for your bigotry.
