As a second generation Taiwanese immigrant, I am pretty critical of Taiwanese food. I decided to give Phusion Cafe a try because my friend spoke highly of it. The interior of the store is a bit sketchy, but the food is very affordable and the service is crazy quick. My boyfriend and I got our food within ~5 min of ordering. We took our meal to go, so the popcorn chicken wasn't as crispy anymore, which put a damper on our dining experience but of course was not their fault. The braised pork was a bit too salty and I felt that the zhajiang noodles could have used more topping (more sauce + meat), but overall the portion sizes were good and the flavors were pretty authentic. The seaweed that came with the braised pork was delicious. I couldn't get enough and would order a side of it on its own. Would recommend this spot and will likely be back to try more menu items!

Food is decent. The taiwanese chicken was my favorite, 10/10. The beef noodle soup was ok, could have used a little more flavor. But the beef itself was so tender. The Taiwanese cold noodle was not too great. A little bland and all the noodles somewhat clumped together. We also got their lychee and passionfruit drinks. Strangely, they didn't have ice? So our drinks were lukewarm, no ice, and still a bit frothy. Also, customer service was a bit strange, as the person at the front didn't seem to know answers to questions I had about the food, very quiet, and just felt awkward overall.I'd come back probably for takeout and try some different things.

I have to now make this inclusionSo I don't get a bad contusionSo when in OhioI think you should try, ohThe boba and food here at Phusion!I want to avoid the Con Phusion, and write a review of Phusion Cafe in Cleveland. This is no longer my favourite place to come and eat, or get Boba for that matter, although the food is pretty damn good and pretty cheap as well.I brought Barbie here because of good memories for me, and we both agreed: The Boba is very disappointing. In the old days I used to like it more, but since it expanded into its new fancy location I've noticed that the drink standard really doesn't get it done for me on any level.Having said that, they do make an effort and I've had much worse boba in my day as well. So you can come to your own conclusions as to what you think of it really. It used to be 5-star quality, and service and popularity are still 5 stars, but with 3 star boba, it balances out to 4. I still wish them all the luck in the world though.Original review:What to get: Any of their Bubble Teas, but order it less sweet unless it's the Milk Tea.What not to get: ConPhused by their menu. It's pretty basic. Like your boyfriend. How to improve: Add Brown Sugar Milk Tea to the menu! There is some ConPhusion about what good Bubble Tea is and how important lovely service is. I'm big into Bubble Tea and I don't care too much about service as long as they get my order right. But for what it's worth, the younger girl working here (maybe the daughter of the owners?) is so friendly it hurts. Literally I get shooting pains up and down my groin area (both sides) from her obsene in-your-face bubble-tea-providing friendliness. As for the tea itself, it might be the best Bubble Tea in the CLE, but that really isn't saying much at all because this city does not have the excellent options of nearby Pittsburgh or even Rochester, and don't get me started on the bubble tea heavens of Cali, NYC, Toronto or Houston. It is really nice though, particularly by Cleveland standards. The milk tea is pretty basic and bland but then so is your boyfriend. It tastes good and that's what matters (unlike your boyfriend).I've also had the Taro and Lychee which were both a bit too sweet, but can be ordered with less ice - so I suggest you do so. They were really good, though, although again - I have yet to find anything here that would make me rush back and knock over customers to demand to be served my favourite bubble tea instantly. Because that is totally my usual type of behaviour. Especially when I'm around your boyfriend. But really, you won't get better Bubble Tea in Cleveland (I've tried them all), and the service is wonderful (if the younger girl is there, especially), so stop by Phusion and end the ConPhusion about who has The Land's best BT.I mean, ConPhusios liked it, so it must be good. Anyway I have to go. I have to catch a lightning bolt at the clock tower so I can go back to the Phusion.Which will go something like this.Doc: Unfortunately we never know when or where good Bubble Tea is going to strike.Marty: (Pulls up the page for Phusion Cafe) We do now.Doc: Great Scott! This is it! If we could somehow harness this Bubble Tea. Channel it into the Boba Capacitor. It just might work.Marty: Whoa, this Bubble Tea is heavy, Doc.Doc: Marty, next Saturday night, we're sending you Back... to the Phusion!

No utensils with delivery really sucked. Scallion pancake was fine. Came with mystery spicy almost fruity chili sauce. The pork belly stew rice bowl was a couple chunks of stewed homogenous pork belly which was disappointing over rice unable to be eaten much due to no utensils included!! Peanut butter chicken came w weird side of green beans and was over rice. This was basically breaded chicken with a bit of peanutty sauce. It needed more sauce badly. Sad.

I came to Cleveland for an interview from Houston (second largest chinatown in US), so I was not expecting much in terms of Asian food scene. However, as soon as I found a Taiwanese place, I knew I gotta check it out. Upon entering, I could tell the shop owner was Taiwanese from his accent, and we hit it off real well from the start. He was very friendly with customers, and he even joked that if I don't have money to pay cuz i'm a poor student, I can do the dishes. Onto the food. I got the braised chicken thigh rice. It was pretty standard taiwanese set meals with some ground pork sauce over rice, veggies on the side (asparagus in this case), and a braised egg. Good portion size in meat and rice, and owner offered me more rice if I needed it. It may not be the best thing in the world, but it tasted homemade to me like how my mother would make it, so I was very surprised. The milk tea tasted very much like ones I would get for breakfast in Taipei on the streets. The curry beef pancake was very flavorful, and I loved the sauce. Overall, 5 stars for service and the home-made feel. It definitely was not 100% authentic or the best taiwanese food I've ever had, but it was comforting and got my Asian food fix. Will definitely come back if I return to the city!

I love Taiwanese food and was super excited to eat here. They didn't have the braised pork belly (they said something about it being a seasonal dish) which made me sad! Instead, I opted for the braised pork with rice and an order of the popcorn chicken. Braised pork with rice was basically minced pork with rice. Wasn't really what I was expecting, but oh well. As for the popcorn chicken it was nothing like traditional popcorn chicken! Taiwanese popcorn chicken is coated in five spice and is juicy and crispy. They use a different type of seasoning and batter here. Again, not what I was expecting when I think of popcorn chicken.

First time to visit. I was pleasantly surprised to find this hole-in-the-wall, home-style Taiwanese restaurant. Ordered the braised pork belly plate. Was nice to have sides of green beans, napa cabbage, seasoned ground pork, and a hard cooked egg. The pork belly melted in my mouth and was braised in a flavorful yet mild sauce. The owner was nice, and also proud of his establishment. Next time I'm in town, I'm coming back.

I like their chicken quarter very much. The reason I give them a 3 is their popcorn chicken. Their popcorn chicken is the worst popcorn chicken I ever have so far. It was so hard and looked very weird. I tasted the breading more than the chicken. I was hoping to taste the five spice flavor, there was no to little flavor. My friend and I couldn't bring ourselves to finish up that popcorn chicken. However, the chicken quarter was pretty good value and yummy.

I might be a little harsh, but when a Taiwanese American feels let down by a Taiwanese restaurant then you can expect some serious criticism. Was the food authentic? No. Was the food good? Err, I'd say it was mediocre. The popcorn chicken had the wrong type of breading and seasoning. Not bad as chicken nuggets but definitely not what they claim to be. Cold noddles had very one-noted sesame sauce and weirdly topped with seaweed. I tried to order boba tea but they had no boba :(

DON'T COMEListen guys, maybe what I'm saying is unbelievable to you. Do not come to this restaurant, the food here is not safe!!! The pork has very visible hair on it and even the waitress confessed that she wouldn't eat that stuff. I've only been here twice and every time I've eaten here my stomach gets really upset afterwards!!! The food here is not fresh at all, I've had leftovers here before and it's awful! I don't know where those 5 stars come from, I really can't believe it.
