Pearl Coffee Company is a staple coffee wholesale and supply company that has served Akron, Ohio and abroad for over 100 years. I discovered Pearl a few years ago through word of mouth and my employer where Pearl Coffee was sold and served. This is a review of my personal visits to their place of business on Broadway. In the last 5 months I've bought a pound of coffee every several weeks. I usually showed up on a weekday shortly before closing. I've tried a single origin Ethiopian, their Pumpkin Spice blend, and their Diana Blend. For my experience purchasing coffee and asking about available coffee it seems Pearl primarily roasts medium to dark coffees. The Diana Blend is their lightest roast. I usually drink single origin light roasts from microroasters and their Diana Blend is more like a medium roast. The Diana Blend is a really enjoyable blend and it's no wonder it is their best selling. It's consistently good as well. I think they have over 30 different coffees, from Pumpkin Spice to single origins from Ethiopia. I like the variety. Whole bean and ground coffee available. They also sell syrups, some tea bags and other season items.Buying at their Broadway location is easy and simple. When I first visited I didn't know what I wanted and they were able to offer me a couple coffees based on my preferences. I've stuck with the Diana Blend because it's good and right now it's $7.50 a pound. I believe you can order ahead and pick up at the store. I've seen orders sitting out. The staff are very nice and friendly.Walking into the store is like walking back into history with the pictures and newspapers clippings on the walls telling the history of Pearl Coffee and the old coffee equipment on display. Their connection to the local community and relationship with their patrons is evidenced by the many pictures of their patrons on the walls. Their is also a little section in the back with other coffee decorative items, I believe. I sort of remember wandering back there while waiting.Try some coffee from Pearl Coffee. I recommend their Diana Blend.

I believe they've done an amazing job and will always buy my coffee and syrup from this world-class roaster. This coffee is noticeably more reactive and foams up a lot in the Aeropress, it was similar to the reaction in Blow when that guy is testing the purity of the drugs, it was that exciting to watch brewing. The bloom was beautiful to behold before pressing my aerosol.After tasting it, I thought I used a paper filter, but it was only the mesh screen(prismo attachment,) how clean it tasted. I'm very happy to have a great company like Pearl right in my backyard!Great customer service, coffee should be sold on Amazon all over the world in my opinion as I am proud when I can support local business.

Discovered Pearl Coffee at Acme, and a friend took us to the shop in Akron. Such a nice place! Very thankful for their delicious coffee and to be able to support a locally owned business. Relieved to be weaned off of Starbucks!

Picked up a bag of their Seattle roast at acme. Great flavor, very pleased.

Best. Coffee. Ever. The ladies are very nice and helpful. Their prices (even when shipped) are better than the coffee prices where I live. The quality of the coffee is only one of the reasons they've been in business over 100 years.

We have been buying our coffee from Pearl for the past 20 years, and I can honestly say their coffee is the BEST!! They have it all~French Roast, Italian Roast, and 100 other varieties. We also love just their regular Diana coffee which many restaurants carry. They are more than happy to take your order, grind it to your specs, and let you know when it'll be ready for pick up. We do like to go in and browse through their huge selection. Customer Service is Perfect too!

Can't say enough good things about Pearl! Local business with outstanding service, very reasonable prices, and truly excellent coffee! If you like darker roasts, their Italian Roast is absolutely MAGICAL. Check out their shop or pick up a bag at Acme, you won't be disappointed!

Next level flavors of coffee. Took a hot cup to work with me and literally was getting asked about it by whomever walked by. I need a flavor in my cabinet at all times.

LOVE THE PEARL!! My wonderful husband ( then boyfriend ) turned me onto this gem back in the mid nineties and I have been going there ever since. Love that it's family owned.
