Always love Pacific East. Their sushi tastes really fresh. Today I tried the Ichiban roll for the first time and loved it. It has smoked salmon, eel, cucumbers, avocado and fish roe wrapped in a larger roll with the seaweed on the outside. Lovely combination that I don't see often and it was really tasty. I also got the spicy tuna roll which was delicious. The tuna was chopped with the spicy mayo mixed with it inside the roll instead of on top. Pork gyoza was good. Kind of too soft but still tasty. The inside is super big although I haven't been in a while. Parking is usually kind of annoying if you are just going in to pick up there, but if you're going to sit down of course there's the nearby lot.

If you ask me on a sushi date and don't take me to Pacific East- I assume you don't love me! Seriously this restaurant has the 3 A's : Amazing food, Affordable menu, and Attentive staff.1. I'm here twice a month at least - I attempt to try new things each time and I'm never disappointed. This occasion that was the Shrimp Avocado salad with a homemade house freezing g- chefs kiss! Extremely fresh and beautiful presentation. The pink lady is a staple for me and also a good choice if you like cooked rolls with a little flair. My partner had the Snow mountain for the first time and will try again .2. I can come here for dinner or lunch and the staff is the same- quick with the order, refills, and smiling the entire time. For a restaurant to be considered a favorite for me it has to be consistent and over the past year that I've lived in the area I've received the same service each and every time.

I've only been here once while visiting Cleveland, but I must say I really enjoyed my sushi and sashimi! The spicy scallop roll was one of the best i've ever had, it was just the way I like it- lots of scallop meat, not too minced, and not over-sauced with a ton of fillers. It was fresh tasting and the kind of roll that set the bar for my future spicy scallop rolls! The ramen was also decent but probably not the best the town has to offer. Pacific East is between 4 and 5 stars for me, but for the spicy scallop roll I will go with a 5... I also enjoyed the uni and unagi and will definitely be back the next time i'm in the area and have a craving for sushi!

Overall food was pretty meh. Nothing special or made me feel like I would crave it later. The sushi rice was way too sticky/mushy. The unagi don was plain and unsatisfying. The chicken katsu wasn't bad but could've used something more. Restaurant itself was nice but don't feel the need to return.

Pac East used to be one of my favorite restaurants to go to in Cleveland but slowly it's become unrecognizable. Their sushi quality has gone down the drain but despite that, it's still the only thing I would even remotely recommend getting here. My friend got the gyu don, and we were unpleasantly surprised by what sat in front of us. The beef was flavorless and rubber like and they had used frozen vegetables for their dish. There was absolutely no flavor to the dish whatsoever and I am shocked that this was even served at a restaurant. Service is amazing and I won't detract from that, but I cannot believe this type of food is allowed to be serves.

I was browsing on Google maps for Asian restaurants in the Cleveland area and was surprised to find this restaurant with both Japanese AND Malaysian cuisines. I was eager to try both cuisines because they're some of my favorites (I have Malaysian family), and I've never seen anything like this before. Like with any huge menu, I had trouble deciding what to order because I wanted to try everything. I mainly ordered Malaysian dishes this time, plus the East roll, since I could hopefully come back one day and try other things. The hamachi kama is recommended, but I didn't want to wait because it takes longer to make. The mango chicken and rendang chicken came on flat plates that didn't make sense because the mango chicken was goopy and spilling over, and the rendang chicken was watery. These dishes are why I can't give 5 stars. I'm used to rendang being more "dry" like a thicker stew or curry. It seemed weird for the dish to come with raw lettuce and tomatoes, reminding me of Mexican restaurants that do the same (but it's for salad at Mexican restaurants). Since the rendang was so watery, there wasn't as strong of a flavor. The serving sizes for the beef stir fried noodle and mee goreng were very generous and came on huge plates. They both had the right amount of flavors. The mee goreng was slightly spicy, but in a good way. The east roll was also huge, but it's on the pricier side anyway. It had all my favorite sushi roll elements - fried/tempura, eel, and sauces I'm guessing are spicy mayo and eel sauce. Make sure to let it cool down first, or be careful eating it right away because it was really hot throughout!

I love me some great Malaysian food! Shame that this isn't it... It's been a minute since our last visit. Service was faster, this time. They close at 3:00p. That will get them to serve you fast.Food remains bland, and tough. The beef satay was so tough that a piece flew off the stick after it detached from some sinew that stuck on it. The nasi lemak is about the cheapest and worst presentation of it that I've had. Dry chicken. Very little of the sambal. The roti Chennai bread was fantastic. The dipping sauce? Tasteless and watery. Parking is a problem. It's a Cleveland thing.Bar? Yeahhhhhhhh, sorta. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Fool me twice? Won't be back.

I had a lovely dinner here about a year ago where I ordered some of the best Toro Tartar I've ever had in my life. That meal and ambiance for dinner was easily a 5 star experience. Today, a year later, I went back during $10 Coventry week and ordered a Toro Roll for carryout. Basically, I'm having the meal I had a year ago but in roll form. It was noon and during my 10 minute wait, there were a couple of diners and one other person waiting for their carryout. I looked inside the bag and was immediately a little disappointed honestly. The sushi pieces were a LOT smaller than I thought they would be!! For $10 (even more without the special), I was expecting big pieces. In order to redeem itself, the sushi had to be fantastic! Was it? Well, yes and no. Toro sushi consists of fatty tuna and roe, wrapped in rice with the seaweed wrapper on the inside. The fatty sushi was very fatty, as you can see the fat striations in the picture. The tuna was very tasty and indulgent. The rest of it was just fine. I would have liked more roe sprinkled within, personally.I do plan on coming back again one day to try their lunch specials. I'm a massive fan of ginger dressing salad and miso soup!
