On the Rise Artisan Breads - Van Aken Market Hall

Bread is good. Market halls is great. But trying to contact the service people at the Van aken location is not possible. They have no phone to call when wanting to know what they have in stock. Absolutely out of touch, unprofessional and annoying for customers who don't have time to just stop by and not get what they want. I've I live local and loves to support the mom-and-pop shops like this. But not being able to call and see if you are out of some type of bread is frustrating. It would be nice if this was changed.

Such a great little spot at Van Aken! We stopped by to get some breakfast to accompany our studying. We got a breakfast sandwich, a croissant, and the mango white tea. All were so good! The staff was friendly, took our order quickly, and had our food out hot and fresh! Overall great for a quick breakfast and I'm dying to come back to try some of their other baked goods!

I was craving a nice sourdough loaf so I drove to Van Aken just to get one from here. Fortunately, they had one last loaf in stock. It had the crunchy exterior I love and a soft middle. The taste wasn't as flavorful as I expect in a sourdough, however.

Picked up a breakfast sandwich this morning. I added sausage to the egg and cheese sandwich, and got it on a croissant instead of the sesame seed bun it traditionally comes on. The croissant was so flaky and buttery!! The sandwich came out hot, very hot, and held its heat until the last bite. There was a generous pile of eggs on it, and a good amount of cheese. The sausage patty was the full size of the roll, so it was present in every bite! I would love to try some of the other croissants they make! They also offer a variety of other breads.

I came here a few days in a row to get something for breakfast on my way to work. The scone was absolutely delicious! I just wish there were a few more substantial options for breakfast with the great bread and pastries they have. That being said, I went each day before my work while I was in town and thoroughly enjoyed the cranberry currant scone!

I was more than happy with the roast beef sandwich I got here. It's late, I'm tired...I got the sammy like lunchtime. Roast beef just like on the menu, didn't ask for anything different. No changes.It was great! I will come by just to get a loaf of their super crunchy French baguette! Posted a pic. Again, I'm sorry. Late. Tired. But best REAL sammich I gotten anywhere in a long time.Do not insult this by comparing it to some generic sub shop. Soooo gooood!

Love On the Rise -- their bread, sandwiches, croissants, and cookies are all excellent. My favorites are the cinnamon raisin bread and rosemary focaccia. Service is always friendly and the bread is so fresh.

Great bakery with awesome sandwiches! There bahn Mi can be made with tofu or pork, I got the pork which was extremely tender and juicy, the pickled carrots and daikon were crunchy and vinegary that cut through the saltiness of the pork and richness of the special sauce which was some kind of elevated mayo, there was also cilantro for some fresh herbs, and jalapeños for spice. The baguette that it was served on was so good though, it is what made the sandwich, crunchy and golden brown on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside, and it had the aroma of freshly baked bread, there entire stand here looked and smelled so good, that's when you know it's very good quality and fresh.

Jennifer cookie with oatmeal, pecans, and chocolate chips was deliciously thick yet soft. Very good.

This is a good spot to go for baked goods. The raspberry flavors are especially good. Rising star is nearby for coffee and there's ample seating in the new van Aken district.
