This place was Old School... Don't expect any modern amenities, nor modern lighting, nor heat. Glad I didn't use the facilities! But the food wasn't half bad. The salad bar was decent. Most of hot food was hot, and most parts of buffet were a mess but that's because of the clientele! No Old School manners evidently. Couple items were not edible but some were yummy.. fried fish & tortilla soup!$12 is decent price, but if you don't like a few items then you're not getting money's worth. Staff was real friendly- Old School hospitality!! Likely to try again if menu is Me-So-Hungryyy 'friendly'.

After my experience with Old Schoolhouse Catering last weekend, I knew a review was in order. I should mention that I was not on the planning end of things, just the eating end of things. And from where I sat, this business was top notch.Not only did OSC provide a complete meal with all items made from scratch, they also had an interesting variety of classic offerings, which added a special touch to the afternoon. Homemade soups, baked goods (hello macaroons!), and sandwiches stuffed with delicious meats. They made me a believer in marble rye bread! I haven't stopped thinking about it since.Hire these guys for your next event. They will brave the snow & ice for you!

Old School House has been a staple of good ole home cooking in Litchfield OH for years. We have been enjoying it since our oldest daughter, now a teen, was just a babe. The Friday night buffets are huge, delicious, and the lowest price meal of its kind you will find in the area. Everything is made fresh and from scratch like, Momma used to make, and oh so delicious. They have a great fresh salad bar with soup, about a dozen entree meals which cover the spectrum from their fantastic fried fish to their pasta carbonara to a fantastic chicken paprikash that my grandma would have been proud to serve. We have also used them to cater a few events and they always arrive early with piping hot delicious food. If you are in the area, you will want to try out school house!

My favorite home cooking in the state of Ohio! They are undergoing a restructuring as I write this as far as the restaurant is concerned. (Oct. 15), so I'd call ahead if you're planning to go for dinner on any night other than Friday at this time....but the Fri night buffet is beyond fabulous. Affordable, abundant, and tasty. Great salad bar, two soups, about four entrees, plus breads, veggies, and side dishes. Usually have a Prime Rib or steak special for an extra $6. Everything is low priced for what you get. Their catering business is very steady. It doesn't get any better than this. The owners (a beautiful family), are almost too nice for words. I love these folks! Its like going "home" when we come here. Just WOW!

11-1-24It's a $17 dinner buffet that opens at 4pm. Overall I would rate the food at 7.5 out of 10, of which the sweet dressing slaw to be the star of the show. The beef, pasta, fish, sausage entrees were tasty, warm and replenished regularly to keep them fresh. 2 soups tasted home made and were good. Then comes the austere decor, rated a 2,..it's an old wooden schoolhouse from the 20s, I'm guessing, and you dine in one of the classrooms last remodeled in the 50s--tables, chairs and church pews salvaged from a diner of the same era. The unmarked entry way off the gravel lot was unwelcoming, littered with discarded kitchen equipment and boxes. Hmmmm‼

Went for the Fish Fry.Super nice people, it was our 1st time.Nice variety of fresh vegetables and cooked.The fish was great and loved the Tarter sauce! It's very unpretentious.

We have used Old School House to cater for our workshops and a couple of company events. We have been very happy with everything we have gotten from them. Not only is their food great, but they are reliable and their portions are generous when serving a group. Thank you Old School House Catering for coming to our rescue.

This is a good place for old style buffet choices. The food is pretty good and the service is always great. They could use some newer menu items and a little more spice in their dishes, but for a decent homemade buffet, it is cheap and pretty good.

The Old School House catered our wedding this past August, and they did a great job! From the time we did the wedding tasting all the way through the day of our wedding, we were impressed by how comfortable they made us feel! They handled everything, and we didn't have to worry about anything related to the buffet! Reasonably priced as well!
