Honestly this place isn't too bad. The food was just average. I had a steak wrap & she had a grilled steak salad. Both were fine, but nothing to rave about. The wine was just okay to me, but that's up to the taster. Service was very courteous & professional. No problems there. The place itself is nice, but forgettable. There's a lot of places to eat here in GOTL, you might want to look someplace else...

This place is fun, but mostly for the ambiance. It's a very casual winery with an amazing location right on the waterfront side of the GOTL strip. Just about everything here is open seating/first come. They were definitely staffed for a crowd, with about 20 servers on the patio. The kitchen is more like a snack shack, outside and behind the patio. We tried the signature wine slushies and they were decent, almost sticky sweet, but fun for a beach drink. The fries were also ok, nothing special and we did not finish the basket, so, there's that. There was live music, plenty of tables with shade and everyone was having a good time, so this is more of a fun stop.

If you come here you have to ride the ferris wheel. It's so fun and the views are amazing. During the summer months there is also usually live music and lots of outdoor seating. They obviously have lots of wine but also a couple beers. The food was pretty good. Fry basket portion was huge and the Pretzel bun on the chicken sandwich was nice too.

The Old Firehouse Winery is worth visiting mainly for the ambiance. When you approach there are a couple cute farm house-esq buildings and a ferris wheel. I wasn't brave/ drunk enough take a ride on the ferris wheel. It looked pretty old. The winery itself featured a lot of outdoor seating under umbrellas. After checking the yelp reviews we decided to eat elsewhere, but did share a plate of flavorless fries. My friends all ordered a frozen wine slushie. It was pretty refreshing, but also very sweet. You could also take a wine slushie and venture down to their pier or sit overlooking the water on the lawn. With a lot of other beautiful winery options at Geneva on the Lake I feel Old Firehouse is either a one time visit or skippable.

My friends and I decided to take a day trip to Geneva on the Lake...it was a great day until we decided to go here.I truly thought you could never mess up wine, but I was wrong. My friends and I were literally coughing/gagging after tasting this wine and all 3 of us got a stomach ache after we left... we had to go home. Our tastings came in tiny plastic cups - perfect for one sip...which we couldn't even finish a sip. Out of about 10 wines they give you to taste...not a single one was good. We kept trying them, thinking one of them HAD to be good. Our server never came back to check on us after she brought us our tastings so we couldn't even get water or food if we wanted to.The only good thing about this place was that it is next to the lake so it is a beautiful view and the weather was nice this day. The inside with all of the fire badges was pretty cool too! They have some from all over the country and it was fun looking for your city. I hate to say it and I really don't like giving bad reviews, but there are many more places/wineries you can go to around this place that will make you happy. If I only save just one person from going to this place I'll be happy.

Fries were so bad that it was laughable. They had absolutely no taste. I liked the wine slushie a lot, and the patio area is a cool place to hang out. I'd recommend grabbing a drink inside then walking down near the water and imbibing there.

This winery is a beautiful spot to grab a bottle and sit on the expansive patio, listen to some live music, and take in the view of Lake Erie. My friends and I enjoyed a bottle of the peach wine, which was semi-sweet and a bottle of the apple ice wine. The ice wine was very unique, and of course, very sweet. Wine - decent. Service - decent. The food was another story. Specifically the chips and salsa. What are you guys doing over there? The chips tasted like stale cigarettes with a sprinkling of tomato dust, and the salsa arrived in the smallest plastic cup ever! The rueben was tasty, though. But, c'mon, how can you screw up chips and salsa? Dang it! We sent our order back. If you're allergic to yellow jackets, avoid this place at all costs. They have ZERO pest control outside. I know it's outdoors, and it's nature and blah, blah... Obviously, they've never heard of using yellow jacket traps. It wasn't that bad at other bars on the strip, so no excuses. Try harder! 2 stars for the chips and salsa, and lack of pest control.

Plus sides: The chicken sandwich is good. Besides the food being okay, the ambiance is great, and they frequently have live music. In addition, the inside and outside areas have great views of Lake Erie. Our waitress was phenomenal and offered solid recommendations. She was also quite knowledgeable about the wine and food selections. The old firehouse memorabilia is also a fun decorative touch. Downsides: The wine from this region can be pretty acidic and have a tang that is a bit of an acquired taste. In addition, the wine is quite sugary and can be a bit overpoweringly sweet, even their drier wines. Their fries seemed to have been done in old oil. They tasted a little sweet, like funnel cake. I would recommend substituting for their tortilla chips.

Oh Firehouse. You guys take a beating on here huh, I'm sorry! Honestly though, there's nothing that BAD about this spot, but not enough to really set them apart from a purgatory experience. Music was...live, and the vegetarian options were there.I would love to see the place freshened up a bit and given a new vibe! They took down their iconic Ferris wheel too, so maybe it's already happening?

This is a great place. Is it Nappa valley, no, but it doesn't pretend to be. Decent wine at a decent price in a great atmosphere. These people that leave these brutal reviews make me shake my head. If you don't like it please don't go back, that leaves more room for those of us who love it. Have fun in Nappa , and remember to bring your wallet.
