I can't believe I forgot that The Mustard Seed serves hot lunch in the grocery area! Not only is this one of my favorite wellness grocery stores, but their hot bar, fresh salads, soups, and grab-and-go options make it easy to eat well on the go. Their upstairs restaurant is great for brunch or date night, but the downstairs food section is a hidden gem for a quick, nourishing meal.Huge shoutout to Janine, the sales associate, who helped me find exactly what I was looking for--she was so kind and caring. With amazing food, wellness products, and staff like Janine, I could eat here every day!

Super cute cafe above a market. We sat and talked for hours with the staff always around to help. The latte and food wasn't bad but it also wasn't good.

We came to meet my family here and we had a great time looking around and finding new treats for the house. I stumbled upon some really good new wines and I'm so glad I did!

Mustard Seed has a pretty solid reputation for being terrible, but I've never felt the need to review them until now.I've been a customer for a long time, especially when I lived in Highland Square and could walk to the market. They are overpriced. Their employees are generally incompetent and rude. More than once, an employee has launched an argument with me. The name of the game is to avoid Mustard Seed at all costs and do everything I can to find what I need somewhere else.Today, I was in Fairlawn and decided to grab some food for my bunnies. What a mistake that was!I took two cantaloupe, two honey dew, and two dandelion green bunches. All of these items were priced by the item. I walked to the register and told him what I had.He demanded I put the items on the conveyor. He told me I had to put the items on the conveyor and then bag them again.I stopped putting my greens on the conveyor belt over a year ago. All it does is make the conveyor belt wet (even though veggies don't require misting no one will stop the practice). The conveyor belts aren't a food safe surface, it's a pain to unload and rebag. And it makes a mess for everyone. But I have never been directly accused of lying before.I told the guy what was in my bag. He demanded to see the items. I said, "So you think I'm lying about what is in the bag."He said, "Yes I do."So I threw it all on the floor and walked out. Here's how I steal from stores : Put items in my bags and pockets and walk out. Here's how I don't steal from stores : Walk to the register and detail every item in my bag so I can pay for every item in my bag. Here's how companies are losing profits to theft : Employees. It is a fact of retail that shrink is caused by employees. Grocery stores aren't targets for theft, especially organic grocery stores with overpriced produce. Furthermore, the people least likely to steal from grocery stores are customers. Every manager in retail knows this, so allowing employees to straight up accuse customers of theft is not only terrible customer service, it's also a sign that the employees are entirely untrained and incompetent.Anyway, a visual inspection would suffice. If a visual confirmation is absolutely necessary, looking in the bag would work. It's a reusable grocery bag, not a black hole.

I was home visiting and went to see a reggae show at the Highland Square Mustard Seed cafe Friday night. The food has always been fresh and healthy. We both ordered the ginger lime stir fry bowl with salmon. Our meals came out smothered in sauce. The vegetables were soggy and the meal was inedible. We ordered fries extra crispy instead. The fries came out soggy so we sent them back. Meanwhile, one of the staff was cleaning tables and put his bus tub down on our table to clean the table next to ours. We were very disappointed and most like won't be back to eat.

Large selection of progressive food items but at lower prices than Whole Foods! Super great choices on items I previously only saw online/Amazon ranging from vegan everything to all sorts of sauces, spices, frozen and fresh goods. Lots of to-go pre-made food items which have all been super delicious ranging from a sweet and spicy salmon to vegan avocado pudding. Must try! Upstairs you can eat inside or outside.

So unfortunately we ended up at the smaller store (which we did not know existed). It is nice, but didn't have what I had gone to get. As a neighborhood store it was great, the cafe on the other hand was great. spacious and served tasty lunch items. I recommend it for a wonderful leisurely lunch with a friend or spouse. They had a coffee tea bar, can's remember if they served beer and wine since I don't drink.

Lots of tasty-looking deli food, lots of vegetarian and vegan options (no gluten free desserts - ah well). Some good deals on local, fresh-looking produce. Supplements, toiletries, everything. Check it out!
