This was our second winery stop of the day, and as we pulled up to what initially appeared to be an herb farm, we weren't confused at all--it actually felt quite fitting for the experience. The photos we'd seen showed a greenhouse setting, so we knew we were in for something a little different, and as seasoned winery visitors, we've come to appreciate the charm of unique, off-the-beaten-path locations. The setting gave off a laid-back, organic vibe that suited the wines perfectly.Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by a friendly lady who proudly wore her Michigan football allegiance--right in the heart of a winery run by Buckeyes fans! That contrast sparked a fun conversation, adding to the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Shortly after, we had the pleasure of chatting with the owner and winemaker himself. He was incredibly generous with his time, sharing insights about the various wines we were about to enjoy and offering fascinating details about where he sourced his grapes. It's always a treat to hear directly from the winemaker, and his passion for the craft was evident in every word.We each enjoyed a flight and sampled all of their wines, and let me tell you--every single one was exceptional. But for me, the Cabernet really stole the show. It was bold, rich, and perfectly balanced, offering the kind of depth you hope for in a great red. I was genuinely impressed by the quality, especially considering the winery had only been open for three months. It's clear they've hit the ground running and are producing wines that can compete with the best. One of the highlights of our visit was meeting Karen, the owner's mom, who was an absolute delight. She took the time to chat with us, sharing more about the winery's plans for the future. This is just a temporary location, as they're planning to move the operation over to the barn area in the future--a move that sounds like it will only add to the charm of this already wonderful spot. The atmosphere, the wines, and the people here are all top-notch. It's the kind of place where you can easily lose track of time, enjoying great conversation and even better wine. Don't let the exterior fool you--judge this place by the quality of the wine, and I guarantee you'll be back for more. We certainly will be. Cheers!!
