Mohican State Park Lodge & Conference Center

Stayed mid week with my wife before Christmas. The place a fairly empty. That's kind of nice; however, that means they cut back on services. When we checked in, we found out that Boxer's was going to be closed but the dining room would be able to make anything that was available in the lounge. That'll work until it doesn't. There was only one server in the dining room for each service. The first day it worked out okay, the second, not so much. Our room update was nearly complete. Seemed we were missing the balcony sheer curtain. The lodge was clean and well kept even though there were still workers there daily. We understand there will be closed from one February until mid May. Hopefully will be able to get in there before and after for comparisons, before we leave Ohio.

Better than I expected. I was thinking this place would be a dirty old motel disguised as a lodge but surprisingly, it wasn't terrible. Construction is in progress so be prepared to run into problems every turn. Wires, broken outlets, holes in the wall, out of order for this and that. Nice idea to upgrade but at the expense of guests trying to enjoy the lodge is unacceptable.Food is very limited so come prepared. However, check the fridge works as mine was barely working. Adequate for a night. Pizza is delicious from the bar. Beet and orange salad from dining room was fantastic. Banquet food was disgusting and very poor choice in nutritional ratio. Lots of carbs, no or limited protein and quality was left to your imagination. Patio furniture were disgusting with bird droppings all over the balcony and furniture. Beds were clean except for a stain on the sheet but I pretended not to notice. Smaller towels were clean but the larger towels were beige or dirty light brown with yellow looking stains. Sink in bathroom is too small to hold toiletries and makeup. The little glass shelf above the sink does not help. Had to use the sink on the counter with the coffeemaker instead (much better idea). Overall, three stars for the pizza and view but not much else.

Laura, the general manager, emailed me with a sincere apology for the front desk clerk's poor service. She refunded me 50% of our stay back to my credit card. Laura acknowledged that it's difficult to get the rooms ready before 4pm when multiple wedding blocks are scheduled and everyone wants to check-in early. I do understand that housekeeping does the best they can.

The beds suck. The chairs are hard. The coffee tastes like mud. The dining room is overpriced and the food is not that good. I wouldn't personally recommend this place. The staff is friendly and the view from the dining room is nice. Two stars is all I can give this place.

The food at the lodge was OK. Can not believe that their is so many great food places 10 miles away. Perryville and Other small towns have much better food. Work at Ohio State Parks system and their lodge food was great. Do not know what happen. Advice, bring food from other place and eat on deck in back of lodge.

My family booked two rooms for Father's Day weekend. This is the email my sister received within a few hours of booking her room: "Hello, my name is Ian, I am writing from the Mohican Lodge regarding your upcoming reservation with us for this Saturday 6-20.Unfortunately, due to a glitch in the reservation system, you were allowed to book a room type that was already sold out 2 queen beds.The only room type we have left available for this Saturday is a room with a single King bed.If you would still like the room we can upgrade you however it would be an increase in rate. From 2 queens to a king the rate of 188.99 would change to 215.99.As we are nearly sold out I can't get the King for the same rate as the queens but I can bring it down to 200 instead of 215.Would this work for you?If you have any further questions you can respond to this email or call us at 419-994-5411. We apologize for the inconvenience.Thank you for choosing Mohican! -Ian"Are you kidding me?! They can't honor the same rate for a "glitch" on their end???Bad form, Mohican Lodge! We just passed by and had a late lunch in the bar. The staff members were nice but we waited a long long time to get drinks amd food. However, the food was fine. I did not expect a lot so it served well for me. I ordered a hot dog with french frise. The total was around 7. The place was clean and had a good.view. If you come in the summer or fall, the view would be micer.

We come for breakfast a couple times a year here. Today's experience wasn't that great. No eggs on the buffet. Bacon wasn't cooked very well and pancakes were cold. If you're going to have a buffet, then you must keep up with it. Very disappointing

We are not sure what has happened with their kitchen staff but the food is less than a 2 star rating. Came for a 3 day conference and each meal wasn't fit to eat. They poured chili powder over white rice, burnt any meat they served, nothing was labeled for dietary needs people ( which they said it would be), food was cold and the list goes on. Sitting here tonight and my Philly cheesesteak sandwich was dry and over cooked. Ordered Cole slaw and got fries. Our chicken sandwich was cold and overcooked.

Be very skeptical of this organization. I just received an email that my reservation made for next month was canceled. I never notified them at all that I wished to cancel, but somehow it was done by another individual! I am uncertain if they released my personal information as well!
