Cleveland has a lot to offer. Mitchell's is a definite treasure. Friendly staff who offer the best scoop of dairy (or non-dairy) ice cream. Did try a sample but settled for one of my favorites, blackcherry with dark chocolate chunks. Multiple size choices for dish or cone. Sundaes, shakes, malts. Take a pint or quart home or enjoy a cake or pie. Don't think you can miss between the flavors or how it's served.Great place if you happen to be in Cleveland. Ambiance was quiet shop with a train that is on a raised platform. Bringing the kiddoes? They have window seats just for them!

Can't pass on ice cream in the winter, especially if it's from Mitchell's! They have such a wide range of homemade ice cream flavors, with seasonal ones like cinnamon, egg nog, and amaretto cookie! I was craving something refreshing so I went for the lemon black raspberry yogurt, which was slightly tart and had sweet berry swirls, and the wild berry crumble, which had yummy pieces of pie crumble in every bite. I liked how both flavors weren't overly sweet and yet the flavor profiles were so accurate. There was plenty of indoor seating and pints available for sale in their freezers. I also liked how the tables had mini vases with fresh flowers!

This was some GREATTT ice cream! I was told that Mitchell's is a strong ice cream staple in the Midwest, and I'm really glad I had the chance to try it! All of the flavors that I sampled were so good that it made it hard to decide which one to get. I ended up choosing the pralines & cream and the coffee chocolate chunk. I was just so happy to eat it. The service was great! There were so many seats, both downstairs and upstairs. I thought it was neat to be able to see their kitchen area where they make the ice cream fresh everyday! Will definitely be back in the future :)

Mitchell's Homemades Ice Cream is a charming little shop nestled near all the museums and sites, making it a perfect stop during a day of sightseeing. The variety of homemade flavors is impressive, and the staff is incredibly friendly--they even let me sample a few before I decided on the perfect one. The ice cream itself is rich, creamy, and full of flavor, clearly made with care. I thoroughly enjoyed my treat and will definitely be back next time I'm in the area. Highly recommend for anyone looking to satisfy their sweet tooth with something truly special!

This is like the Jeni's ( or Johnson's) of Columbus or the Graeter's of Cincy. Everyone told me I had to try it since it's a Cleveland staple. There was a long line. Mostly parents with kids. The weather was warm so I wasn't surprised by the line! It moved quickly. You can see them making the ice cream behind the counter. A huge window showed the workers making everything. Pretty cool! And there's a train going around the entire ceiling too. Nice touch!I ordered a junior size ( the smallest cup) of Oreo ice cream, while my friend got the same size of the s'mores. To be honest, the ice cream wasn't anything special. It was just like any other ice cream place. I think Graeter's is better. I don't get the hype but I'm sure locals stand by their brands. When paying for the ice cream, they ask whether you're eating inside or not. I wasn't sure and the woman and the register said to just say to go. I didn't get this at first but turns out you get charged extra if you eat inside, kind of like a cleaning fee. Weird.

Now playing: ice cream made fresh.Mitchell's Homemade Ice Cream is the star at this theatre. There was a long line when we entered but we were entertained by perusing the menu, the seasonal flavors, the friendly staff, and the line moved quickly. There's a viewing window where you can watch the ice cream being made, crumble being baked. There's a second floor where you can view the entire production. My cookies and cream was delicious and creamy with lots of thick chunks of cookie. I liked knowing that it's freshly made, with local ingredients, and you can see it being created (even after 7pm)!

This place used to be a live theater, and they transformed it into an ice cream parlor. It's very neat how you can see them making the ice cream in their glass enclosed factory area. I enjoyed watching them. The employee who served me was very nice and friendly. She said that samples were allowed so I had two of what was popular at the parlor. I chose the wild berry crumble flavor and got one scoop of it. I didn't see a line when I went but I did see one as I passed by it later on the same day. There's plenty of seating indoors and some outdoors. Restroom on the top floor and two on the main floor. Overall, the line will move fast and it's very clean where you would dine. They do have tap water if you're thirsty too.
