Stopped in on Saturday and we're just in time to join a tour. Tour was $15 and included 4 tastings during the tour and then tastings of flavored spirits after. The tour was very informative and it was great to hear how an Ohio distillery is doing it. Both employees were super helpful, giving us suggestions about other things to do while we were in Wooster. Lovely building, I love how it's been repurposed but still pays homage to the previous users of the building. Great drinks, wish I could've tried a cocktail but after the tastings I was feeling it- definitely want to come back.

Did a tour here and had a couple of cocktails afterwards. The staff is so incredibly friendly and prideful of the distillery. And the building is absolutely stunning. I'd definitely recommend taking a tour- they're only $10 and you get to sample their spirits and see the beautiful room that they excavated where they keep their fermenters and still.Their cocktails at the bar are fabulous. Tried the watermelon mule, the dirty cherry coke, and the cinnamon coloda. The coloda was the best, but they were all great. Very reasonably priced too. Their bottles that are for sale are also reasonably priced as well. We ended up buying the rye whiskey because it was the spirit that we liked the most on the tasting, but also because it isn't distributed and we aren't local. Despite not being local, I would totally drive up here anytime for a cocktail. They have a super cute patio and you can tell that they've put a lot of love and time into making their facility enjoyable. Loved this place.

Gem of a business! We were in the area and happened to see that this was near by and we ended up with a tasting and a tour. They were super knowledgeable and the building's history was super cool too.Loved the tasting (we had a pickle one... it was deliciously weird and gross and delicious.. haha exactly what I was expecting!) and they also had really great flavors too.We got to sign a barrel and can't wait to come back in years to come for that too!!

I seen that they had a distillery in the town that we were staying at and said that we would check it out on Saturday. We met someone at the Blue Barn Winery the night before and they suggested that we do a tour of the distillery and I signed up for the tour.We arrived on Saturday for the 2 PM tour and guess what we were the only ones on the tour. The guy did a wonderful job. He started off and explained the history of the building and where the name of the distillery originated from. The distillery name originates from a coal mine in the area from the early 1800's, and then another business in the early 1900's and eventually here we are it's a distillery. They opened up 8 years ago, and been in the building for 4 years, but only have a manufacturer license at the moment. You can only sample tastings, but no mix drinks etc; because they still do not have a liquor license. It's disappointing because it's a great place. The tour begins and he tells us about how each of the different liquors are made. He said for the Gin and Vodka that they only use 4 of the 12 area spacers in the still when making the Gin/Vodka, but for Rye and Bourbon they will go to the top, distill, and go back through again to keep the flavor. We tried all of the whiskeys in the back except for Cinnamon and Peach, which we tried up front and will get back to.Vodka: I'm haven't been a vodka person since I drank 13 shots in 30 mins when I was 21, yeah not a smart move. Anyhow this Vodka had a nice tangy sweet to the point that I could drink it.Gin: This had to be the best GIN that's I've ever had. I've had a few Gins and like a christmas tree liquor but this one was really good. Wish I'd purchased one, but purchased 3 bottles of other products, so maybe not the best move to purchase it all. :) Rye: This was really good. It had a nice taste to it. Easy to sip on without ice.Bourbon: This is the second, if not the best bourbon that I've had ever. It was a great taste.Apple Whiskey: Yum this had a nice apple taste, not real bold but right to the point. Loved it...We tried the Cinnamon and Peach and they were both terrific. Probably the best Cinnamon that I've had before. First time I've gone to a distillery besides Liberty Pole Spirits in Pittsburgh, PA area that I liked everything I tasted. Overall I highly recommend this place. It's going to be a great place. Lots of future in this business.

Minglewood has been open for a few months now, and I'm so glad I finally got a chance to visit. I arrived just as the last tour of the day began, (45 minutes before closing. Take note!), so I guess I had to skip just to the tasting part. For $7 I got to sample the 5 spirits currently on sale. Going down the line: Vodka - Crisp. Fresh. Doesn't taste like rocket fuel! Ohio is doing some great things with winter wheat based vodkas, and Minglewood does a great job with this vodka. Gin - I hate gin. I'm not a gin guy. I don't like when my mouth tastes the way a taxi cab smells. But the restraint in using the juniper and pairing with the herbs and citrus make this a really accessible gateway gin. If you want to build your way up to those hardcore British pine-dare gins, this is your way to go. I'd drink this in a G+T any day. Rye - Of the spirits, this came off as the most harsh, but also the most complex. Maybe it would benefit from a little chilling or a bit more water, but there was a lot of the burned hay notes when I drank this. It's still really good, locally produced, and hits you with the spice on the finish. This is not a pedestrian Rye. Bourbon - Oh baby. I love bourbon. LOVE bourbon. It's my thing. Is this the most incredible bourbon that I've ever had? No. I'm a snob in this area, no apologies. I like longer aged bourbons, and this one has 2 years under its belt. However, comparing this to other young bourbons, I'd prefer this 9 days out of 10. (I'd name the brands it beats, but I'm not looking to hurt anyone's feelings.) If you're not a fan of smoky, deep bourbons, this is for you. You're going to get a lot more of a syrupy, vanilla, toasty finish. Call it a "table bourbon." Cinnamon Whisky - This was last in the tasting. Save for the gin, (which was a pleasant surprise), this was the sample I was least looking forward to having. I went from pleasant surprise to hidden gem with this one. I had visions of Fireball and all of those gimmick cinnamon spirits in weird bottles. This is not those things. This is like if Fireball straightened up, got a haircut, and got a real job. It's cinnamon whisky for actual adults. It's got a cinnamon kick, but not a bludgeoning or burning. It's magnificent. I drink it over ice, and it's smooth and wonderful and flavorful. I bought a bottle on the spot. There are additional notes about Minglewood here. They've got a great story, a really cool building, and plenty of space to bring friends for the tour / post tour sampling. I'd tell you the story, but I'll defer to the pros. In the meantime, visit and mingle!

We had a group of important clients in town and Mark and his team made us feel very welcome. The process and product are exceptional in quality and taste! This is a gem and Wooster is proud to have such an attractions in downtown! Personally the Bourbon is top notch, having lived in Louisville KY for several years I would easily place it on par with Woodford, Basil Hayden and others...
