Messina Pizza & Bakery

Yum! I'm picky about pizza but I enjoyed this place. Small mom and pop shop so if you call in be prepared to pay for your order over the phone. I also feel like pizza has gotten pretty expensive lately, but I got a medium with two toppings and it was 15 bucks a good quality pizza so I felt like it was worth it. Are usually kind of person which this pizza had so I actually wish it just had just a tiny bit more sauce. Overall, I would definitely order pizza from them again.

Great lunch option in S. Collinwood with delicious Italian staples on homemade bread + triangle slices with homemade sausage + salads put together with lil Italian extras such as pepperoncini & green olives; all rounded out by a wonderful selection of fresh baked breads and sweet delights! Yes, they have coffee too! Tho I wish they had espresso Definitely deserves a stop if you find your self in Collinwood. The waiting area has a few tables and is filled with posters, paintings, propaganda recounting Italian history along Ivanhoe.

Spectacular subs!! Took home Easter Bread. Delicious! Thanks for the little bit of history.

Great service and OMG the best pizza I have had in Cleveland. Had a veggie slice and my eyes rolled back. Can't wait to try the bear claw!! Would show a pic of the pizza but it's in my belly!!!!

Random location for a bakery and pizza joint. $2.50 for huge cookies. Peanut butter cookie was good and soft. No where to eat in. Card minimum $7.50. The chocolate chip cookie was way above average with a soft but not totally falling apart texture and a fresh flour taste that was great which is hard to say when cookies are so ubiquitous.

Stepping in the door of this place, I'm filled with nostalgic memories instantly. I grew up in the neighborhood and went to St. Joseph elementary which is no longer open anymore. On Friday's, our teacher would allow us to bring in money, partner up into groups, and order pizza. We'd probably break up into 4-5 groups and get a sheet pizza for each group. It something you looked forward to as a kid. I came in here last week to pick up a pizza and the smell immediately took me back to the eighth grade again. I recently read a high review for the baked goods decided to give the cookies a try as well for the first time. I wasn't disappointed by the addition. He only issue with the cookie is that it's so huge that I couldn't finish it in one day. The next day it was not as soft, but that's expected. Additionally, while I waited for them to to cut the pizza, I took some time to look around the restaurant at the pictures on the wall. There's so much history captured in the photos inside the establishment. Really gave me some soprano type vibes lol. They have some really old photos of the annual parade that holy redeemer does I believe for the feast of assumption. This place is a staple in the Collinwood area and a must try.

I love this bakery but for its pizza. This quaint place is excellent for delivery to local businesses and their pizza is my favorite here in the Cleveland area. I have not been a fan of reheating pizza or eating it the next day but this one is just as delicious the next day as it is right out the oven. Their prices are reasonable and they are very friendly. I love that the toppings aren't taken over by they sauce, in fact, there isn't any !

This old neighborhood bakery has long withstood the waves of white flight and urban decay that have decimated the area for decades. That being said, the family remains steadfast in their commitment to quality baked goods, which rival any other Italian bakery in Cleveland. The cannolis are especially savory, made fresh every day with a nice crisp she'll and sweet ricotta filling! If you're near Collinwood, I highly suggest that you try this timeless classic!

From Orlando & visiting family...a friend treated us to Messina pizza. All I can say is that they make a yummy pie. One of the best, I've had in the Cleveland area. Definitely recommend their pizza because of quality ingredients they use from having eaten one.

I was looking for some particular Christmas cookies, (the white ones with the cherries on them) and someone pointed me here. I was coming down Ivanhoe, and thought well lets try...Sad to say they didnt have them, so I bought some cookies, and a Pizza instead (yeah that was a stretch).Did anyone see the movie Rattioullie -sp-? Do you remember the scene near the end where the critic ate the dish the rat had made, and To put it mildly... one bite took him home?Well thats what happened to me... this pizza took me back to a long since closed place we used to go to on Buckeye avenue. I had not tasted anything like it since. Eating this pizza was a tearfully, enjoyable experience.Since that time I have spoiled myself with Oatmeal raisin cookies, Peach puffs, and apple turnovers as big a boomerangs, and stuffed to the flakey pastry gills with Apple filling.This was dang near a religious experience...Im getting another pizza tonight on my way home.
