Occasion: Visiting my daughter and can't resist a European style marketI really wanted to like this store. It was full of interesting products that looked very diverse and decently priced. So why only one star?I am a disabled person who has a service dog to help me. As soon as we walked in the door, the woman who owns the shop fought her way through the crowd to get to me and demanded to see my dog's registration papers to prove she was a service dog. Oh, boy...I politely explained to her that registration is not a thing for service dogs and shared with her the 2 legal questions that businesses are authorized to ask dog handlers, and volunteered my responses. She insisted that she knows better and that there is a registry for service dogs and she will need to see Piper's registration to allow us to remain in her store. She even went so far as to tell me she'll call the police and have them tell me there is a registry for service dogs. I let her know that's not necessary I'll find and correct the police if they're incorrectly stating ADA requirements. (this happens more often than you might imagine.) I confirmed with her the location of the police in WSM and went to find one. I did get her to accept my ADA card though, so that's progress. After the lady harassed me about Piper, I didn't have much of an appetite for her wares. We left feeling trampled on and violated.Note: I did seek out the officer. Not only did the officer understand ADA requirements, he offered to go with me to correct the woman. I told him that I would never patronize her store now so I'm not interested in accompanying him, but I appreciate his effort to prevent her from discriminating against the next dog handler that enters the premises. He chased me down in a crowded market later to tell me that he'd had a conversation with the woman and she now understands ADA law. Would I recommend? not if you're disabledWould I return? not on your lifeService Dog Grade: F. Denied access and required police correction. I have never filed a complaint re: ADA before today:(

What a great little shop! My senses were on overload from the moment I stepped inside. So many wonderful cheeses, imported chocolates, spices and more! I was not sure were to begin. I found some imported bucatini noodles and was so excited. A restaurant from back home makes and amazing mac and cheese using bucatini and I plan to make some now for my family! I also picked up an imported chocolate for my daughter that has a toy inside. I had these when I visited Europe years ago and it was fun to be able to bring one home to Rhyan! We could have bought one of every cheese in the joint but we restrained ourselves and chose two to start with - a double cream Gouda and one called Dubliner that is supposed to be somewhat like a cross between Swiss and Parmesan. Our plan will be to try new ones each time we go. I think this could very well be one of my very favorite things! The staff was really wonderful, too! I loved their friendliness and felt like a valued customer. A++ visit!

Love this store! They have the highest quality imports from all over the world- Goji berries from the Himalayas to Stroopenwaffles from the Netherlands to Ginger oil from Thailand. I bring my out of town friends here to drool over the cheese selection. I'm a vegan and I live for their jams, unique breads (Flax and rye!), and CHOCOLATE sections. They have all the seasonings you need for sale by weight. Everyone who works there is super knowledgable and helpful. I cant believe these guys didnt have a million reviews.

No trip to the West Side Market is complete without a trip to the Mediterranean Imports store. This place rocks. They have one of the best cheese counters in the whole market, which is saying a lot, since the WSM is almost the only place to get amazing cheese in Cleveland. They may not have as many artisan micro-creamery cheeses, but the selection is still staggering, and definitely the best value. One cheese that I haven't seen anywhere else at this level of quality is called "Delice de Bourgogne." It's the best triple cream cheese I've ever had. Pick up a loaf of their multi-grain bread to go with it, and you have an appetizer or desert that will not be forgotten. The other imported fare such as chocolates, oils, dried fruit, have all been excellent and reasonably priced. The staff is helpful and patient with the sometimes large crowds. If you haven't been there, go!

Although there a couple of choices for buying cheese at the Westside Market and they are all very good, the selection at Mediterranean Imported Foods is more extensive than anything else I've found in NEOH. As a closet cheese connoisseur, it quickly became apparent to me the people behind this counter know their product. They answered all my questions and had the hard to find cheese variations I like in stock. After learning my preference, Ed made a couple of other suggestions which provrd to be outstanding and will become part if my cheese repertoire. Just when I feared pride in your work, becoming a true craftsman and providing outstanding customer service with high quality products had become a lost art, Mediterranean Imports at the WSM has restored my faith. Highly recommend for unique cheeses.

Asked for a suggestion of a cheese to accompany our dinner that evening. Helpful young man recommended an aged gouda and gave us a sample of it. We loved it and ordered a chunk of it. Bought another creamy cheese and some misc. items. Opened the paper-wrapped cheese when we got home and were surprised to see a chunk of old, nasty, hard cheese of a different color entirely. The creamy cheese was the same that we had sampled at the store. The store had only one other custormer at the counter at the same time as us. NEVER again will we go to this store in the market. I knew you needed to beware of the produce folks bagging up fruit/veges that were getting old, but I never thought this vendor would rely on such tactics. Live and Learn. If you go here, make sure you're getting what you asked for.

My Grandpa used to take me here to get Lebanese food. We would always buy the pita because it is soo fresh and cheap! The spices and the pre-made Kibey is really good also! If you like Middle Eastern food this is the perfect place to stop and buy the ingredients you would use at very good prices! The people that work here are soo friendly! I miss coming here.
