If you enjoy Irish food... don't come here. If you've never had authentic Irish food and love soggy and salty food...this is your jam.Service was slow, tables dirty and zero offers for refills.Just. Meh.

Visiting the area and decided to check out this Irish pub. Place was not busy on a Monday night and had a nice atmosphere. Service was so so as we waited forever to get our drinks and it was eventually served with our appetizer. The portions are huge and the food was good. Loved the shepherd's pie but easily could have shared it with someone. My husband enjoyed the perch wrap very much too.

Friday afternoon on Labor Day weekend. The place was near empty.Why? Food was just ok but over priced. Wine was way over priced.We were at the bar and 3 foul mouthed drunks wandered in for drinks.One of the dining room waiters looked like an unmade bed. No shower, no hair brush etc.

I got the fried bologna sandwich and it was amazing. Fried egg, pickled red onions, melty American cheese and house mustard. It was our servers first day and she did a good job. Classic Irish pub interior. Give them a try!

McCarthy's is a corner lot staple in downtown PC. I have been coming here with my Army friends for years when we are in the area for training at Camp Perry.They have a very large selection of adult beverages. On my most recent visit, I tried a banana flavored cider and it was delicious.My most recent meal was the shepherds pie over fries. It was a lot of food. I found it to be way too salty so I don't think I would order it again but their shepherds pie on its own is super good. The service is excellent. I have always had a good experience here even if the food isn't always top notch. I will be back again next year!

This is one of my favorite spots for a quick beer and sandwich. Typically you can get pretty quick service at the bar, which fully fits the pub vibe.Plenty of beers to choose from, a fairly lengthy menu and during the day it is kid friendly. Don't skip the Eileen's Dip either, great with the pretzels.

This place was fun and the food was good! Traditional Irish fare that was hot, flavorful 'stick to your ribs' comfort food. The rye bread was on point! Great ambience and décor. Friendly attentive staff. Very good Guinness!

I had a great perch sandwich and the service is friendly. But on the menu is a car bomb burger. Personally I find that offensive and in Ireland saying things like that is not acceptable. I hope they change the name. I had gone with 1 star but that's not fair given that the place is otherwise fine, so I revised this review.

There were 5 members in our party, up from Dayton for fishing. I thought I'd researched pretty good and McCarthys was also referred to one of us but we were all disappointed! I always love to try a Rueben when on the menu and the menu picture represented the Rueben as an awesome sandwich but was so disappointed!!! The meat was sparse and the flavor was ok at most. Would not recommend to a Rueben lover.Our daughter in law also was very disappointed in her Rueben.My brother said the perch was ok. My husband said his chicken was ok, nothing exciting. The homemade chips actually "Needed" the sauce for flavor, and that had to be purchased extra. Our son ordered the grilled cheese burger. He said it was ok but felt the pizza place across the street that they ate at the previous night, was better than McCarthys. The best part of our meal for me, was the "Shepherd's Pie" loaded fries. I was looking for a wow factor from McCarthys and was really disappointed. I took photos for social media but haven't posted yet. I didn't even bother tagging us at the restaurant. Our waitress was nice. I did give her my thoughts on the sandwich lacking meat. She said she was sorry, that's it. I personally will not go back but suggest trying for oneself as the experience could be different.
