Master Pizza Lakewood

I visited the Lakewood location when I was in the area because I had a major hankering for pizza that needed to be quenched asap! I had never had pizza from any of the Master Pizza locations so this was all new to me. There was an art festival going on with tons of food trucks so this pizzaria was essentially dead and sort of surprised I came in! Haha, I've never had that reaction before! I didn't have a good idea of what kind of pizza I wanted other than I wanted a single serving pizza so together with the crew, we came up with the small Popeye pizza with added old-world pepperoni on top! 25 minutes later, a GORGEOUS tiny little pizza was ready for me and it took everything in my power to not eat it all in the car. (Look at the picture and tell me that's not the most photogenic pizza you've ever seen!)For a chain, this place makes a killer, specialty pizza! It was a bit overpriced for the size at $14 dollars, however. I would have also liked more veggies on top, but I'm a fanatic for veg. I'm not sure if this place would be a good deal for lots of large pizzas if you were to have tons of people over, as that would cost an arm and a leg. But I'll definitely give my more local Master Pizza here a try one day and wolf down some tasty thin-crust, maybe with extra sauce and veggies as well. Complements to the friendly staff as well! I hope they see this and know how much I appreciate their help and conversation!

I love the pizza here. I got the Chicago Tavern style crust for my pizza. I also got the cup style sausage topping which I've never seen before. This pizza was really good. The sauce is sweet too which I love. Definitely give this place a try.

I've been ordering from Master Pizza for several years and it's been consistently good. A couple of times, they forgot to give me the dipping sauces that I paid for, but other than that, the pizza is not greasy and is always hot when it arrives (Angelo's is NOT). Would recommend!

I was so looking forward to this pizza! I saw the owner on "Best in Dough" and he won, and the pizza looked amazing! I was thrilled to find out he had a location less than 2 miles from me. I have a very small budget for takeout, and since this was going to be a little pricey, I saved up and looked forward to this treat!I was able to use a coupon, but my medium pizza was still nearly $20. I added a small salad as well, and my total bill, with the delivery charge and tip was $35.I wasn't sure which pizza to get, but going by the description, I got the Detroit . Supposedly, so rich and thick it would feed 4-8 people! I wanted a pizza deep in toppings. I even ordered extra sauce, pepperoni and sausage. We were hungry!It finally arrived, and so disappointed! I basically got a large piece of unflavored, dense bread with very little toppings. It was cut into 8 pieces, and each square had a small piece of sausage, 2 pieces of pepperoni, and a dollop of sauce that even when spread thinly did not cover the top of this abortion. If I only wanted bread, I was set. But I wanted cheesy, gooey pizza! I've had more cheese on a breadstick. Worst $30+ I ever spent. Will NEVER order from here again.

Pizza was amazing! I wanted to try something different and stumbled upon Master Pizza while out and about and decided to place and order for pickup. They were running a deal for a medium 1 topping pizza for $9.99. Sauce was delicious, too!They also have an app to order from your phone. I had some issues with it which was frustrating, but finally got my order to go through after 4 tries. LOL.I will certainly be back!*Note: if you are picking up the pizza, the entrance is off of St. Charles Ave past Panera, not Detroit.* Google maps won't get you there!

Looks good. Tastes bad. We got a pepperoni and pepper pizza a few weeks ago. There are 3 aspects of pizza: Crust, Sauce and toppings. Master pizza has failed in all areas. Crust: crust was undercooked in the middle and bland. It tasted kind of like a half cooked bisquick biscuit. Sauce: lacked any assertiveness to stand up to the crust. Toppings: yikes. These were bad. Real bad. The pepperoni lacked any distinguishing feature but greasy. The peppers were tiny bits of confetti that got lost in the slog of donkey cheese. This pizza is not good. Maybe they spend too much time on the pizza acrobats and not enough time on the taste of the pizza. I would equate this to private label Giant Eagle oven pizza. I think this probably passed for good pizza in Cleveland in the 90s but there are much better options now.

This review is for anyone who is gluten free- but loves pizza! This past year, I started having some issues with wheat and grains- and my gut. Oof. While the celiac diagnosis might be forthcoming, I started cutting out gluten. It kind of sucks- but I feel 100% better! That said, Master Pizza is behind the Panera Bread- Detroit and St Charles. It's tiny, and but friendly. Now we talk gluten free options for pizza! Holy hell! They have 2 options here- cauliflower crust AND deep dish. WTH?!!! Deep dish- and gluten free?! Hoo boy! I am a regular customer here and I tried both options- and both are awesome-- but deep dish is my go to! I usually get the deluxe, all the stuff! Now, I also enjoy the cauliflower crust- it's thinner, but great as well. I'm really happy to be able to eat pizza that doesn't mess with my insides. Note: as with other places, they do use gluten for their other pizza's. If you are a true celiac, they do advise you that they create other pizzas in the same facility with gluten. For me, this doesn't bother me- but a true celiac may have to pass. That said- I am thrilled I can still enjoy pizza with a crust option that is tasty and on my health plan.

Detroit Style Pizza is always a good choice. They have some other interesting pizzas that look good but stick with the pizza here.

What a massive disappointment. I used to work at Master Pizza when I was a teenager and loved it. The kids wanted me to try something different today, so I chose this. We paid thirty dollars for three different things. Parmesean bites, the dough is heavy, it's missing a spice and it was doused in butter. The dough on our "Cleveland Style Pizza" was hard. And the sauce has NO FLAVOR. The Pepperoni was burned. And the same thing with our Detroit style crust. It's basically tomato sauce they put on top. Very sour, no spices. I guess this is a different sauce then is on the pizza. I didn't see that listed on the website. So if you are going to order this pizza, be prepared to have a very sour taste on top.I called to relay how disappointed I was, and got a "sorry" you don't like it. Soo... I have never written a restaurant review. But felt compelled in this case.

Bridgette is the best worker and deserves a raise !! Always so happy and helpful I really appreciate her !! Plus the food is always so fresh and delicious!! Wish I lived closer so I could get this pizza more often !!
