Mary's Diner in Madison, OH, is a classic diner experience done well. From the retro vibes to the quick, friendly service, it feels like stepping back in time to when diners were the heart of comfort food.I kicked off my meal with a cup of broccoli cheese soup, which was delivered to the table almost immediately. It was thick, creamy, and packed with cheesy goodness--a definite highlight that sets the tone for the meal. For the main course, I went with the Open-Faced Hot Turkey Sandwich. The turkey was tender and juicy, blanketed with savory gravy that hit all the right notes. The mashed potatoes tasted homemade--just the way I like them--with a few lumps for authenticity. This was my second visit to a Mary's Diner, and both locations impressed me. With hearty food, quick service, and spotless surroundings, it's an easy favorite.

Your typical diner experience, and I say that with great admiration for a classic diner! My husband and I love a good classic diner breakfast while traveling. We were greeted warmly when we entered and you could tell it was the type of place that hosted regulars and groups of friends. We ordered: Corned beef hash meal, hash browns extra crispy and a biscuit. I love a canned corned beef so note, if that's not your thing I totally understand but this is a diner staple to me. The biscuits are SO GOOD! Clearly made I house- I recommend getting one! (Or two) My husband got the big mouth breakfast, he loves a classic pancake breakfast and this did not disappoint. If your looking for a classic diner experience, Mary's is what your are looking for!

Cute retro diner. We stopped by and I got breakfast (served all day), and my hubby got lunch! All of the food came out nice and hot! The decor is really cute and the Music was played at a perfect volume level!! Loud enough to enjoy, but you could easily have a conversation without having to yell!!!One thing that impressed me was the fact that most diners never season the hash browns.... Mary's diner finally gave me very well seasoned potatoes! Yay!!A very nice gentleman went around and greeted guests at every table and thanked each one for stopping by.So we will go back when we are in the area. Good food and good service- win, win!

Great Pumpkin Cappuccino! Great atmosphere! Great service! I didn't care for the dish I ordered though. Corned beef sandwich. Also did not care for their fries. Dry and overcooked probably out of a bag of frozen fries. The sandwich was a tough cut of meat and thickly sliced and didn't taste like corned beef.

This is a brand new and much larger location for this wonderfully nostalgic diner. The decor is heavy on the red, but it works. It's very cozy and inviting with all of the fun and vintage inspired signs and artwork. The service was friendly and prompt. The menu was huge with many daily specials. The prices seemed a little bit above average for a diner. Not too many vegetarian options, mainly just in the breakfast section of the menu. I may have overlooked some items, though. I ordered the mozzarella sticks to start. Yes it's a common menu item for a lot of places, but they need to be made right. In this instance they definitely were awesome! I also ordered the bella melt. It was one large grilled portabello mushroom topped with blue cheese and roasted red peppers on a slightly toasted bun. It was tasty but became a soggy mess quickly. I wouldn't order it again. The fries that came with it were very good.My hubby ordered the strip steak. It was done to his liking and came with a decent sized salad, mashed potatoes and gravy. He said it was pretty good but not exceptional. I also ordered an unsweetened iced tea. I had to send it back because it was really watered down. I was shocked by that, especially at a diner. The desserts sounded tempting, but maybe next time. Overall, I would recommend checking this diner out. It's a great family friendly atmosphere that caters to everyone and Grandma, too.

While their prices continue to rise, their quality continues to drop. They stopped serving butter with breakfast and only provide cheap margarine. It's a diner, I know, but food doesn't have to taste like it's made with strictly GFS or CISCO Foods ingredients, especially at those prices.

Not too bad. Nice clean restaurant. Can be pricey and some of the food tastes bland. Staff is really helpful and polite. The original diner was really tasty but seems like it's not as pleasant since they are expanding to different cities. It's not bad but nothing really seems to stand out. Wish the food was a little tastier for the price.

Fair warning--you won't get as many wings as you expect. Madison may not be as good as the Geneva Mary's Diner. I've eaten at the Geneva location many times (I like the food there), but I live in Madison, so tonight I decided to order takeout from this location in Madison. I ordered 3 pounds of Buffalo wings. When I picked them up from the restaurant and the box seemed very light. I don't usually double check things like weight or count my wings, but they seemed so far off from 3 pounds I decided to use a postage scale to weigh the box. The wings (including the takeout box) weighed 1.3 pounds. I called the restaurant to see if the measure things differently, and they do--they weigh the wings before they cook (they lose weight when they cook), but, she added, they don't weigh anymore and they count out 16 wings for 3 pound orders and 8 wings for 1.5 pound orders. That's a big difference and about half what I expected, especially since the wings were not very large. The wings were really gross tonight. Ordered them from Geneva just a couple weeks ago and they were great. Not sure if a fluke or if the Madison location isn't as good as the Geneva location. I won't order from the Madison location again. Disappointed.

New menu, raised there prices ok I can understand that. But food quality has gone down since the original Mary diner. Try Mary's double hamburger for example two very thin panties lettuce and Cheese special sauce. Not even close to what used to be at Mary's.oh and No rolls for dinner any more too expensive for them. hummm!!!! Well at least I know how they are building more restaurants.

Outstanding service, outstanding facilities, outstanding menu selection, and reasonably good price point. I had a decent fish fry with the exception that I do not care for the kind of french fries if they serve. They would be better to serve crinkle cut fries, which would be more in tune with the decor in seeming of the restaurant, rather than the coded seasoned pieces of potato slurry, that they present.. the other members of our party enjoyed great meals had a chance to sample their chili, which was very delicious too.
