Well my favorite pizza shop is back (I think they returned several months ago) and they have managed to wow me again! Tonight it was their Hawaiian pizza. Hawaiian pizzas can be hit or Miss with me. I'm never quite sure what to make of pineapple on pizza - and if onions are included that is a big Nope! for me. This one, I'm happy to report, was perfect! In fact too perfect. I ate a slice beyond the number that I usually have. (Relax- it's not crazy gluttonous- just the average 2 to 3 slices). First the temperature. Mark and Philly's is approximately a 12 - 14 minute drive away. This pizza stayed hot and fresh all the way into the kitchen and throughout dinner! The crust- crispy, and not greasy but not dry - chewy-delicious! The toppings - real ham alert! This had fresh cubed ham- not the dried out thin slices I am accustomed to seeing on a Hawaiian pizza. Bacon - perfect amount. I don't want to be overpowered- and I wasn't. The bacon was a nice sprinkling of real bacon - not dehydrated bits. And the pineapple - again, the perfect amount. Not swimming in its own juices but not dried out pineapple leather either. Just right! The thing that drew these flavors all together though? The sauce! I can't begin to tell you what it's made from but it tastes like a perfect light tomato sauce- thin and again not overpowering. I highly recommend the Hawaiian pizza at Mark and Philly's! Or any pizza really - just get there! These people know what they're doing!! Delicious! Okay I see keyboard cat coming out to play me off now...

I ordered a large Sicilian with pepperoni and sausage for takeout. I'd definitely recommend this pizza for just novelty sake. I don't know any other place in the area that makes a pizza like this that tastes good. The staff were very friendly, genuine, down to earth, and welcoming. They made me feel like I was in their family kitchen. Overall, the pizza was delicious. The baked cheese on top and slightly crispy crust on the bottom were tasty and reminded me of the baked Italian dishes from a local Italian restaurant many people could name. The cheese was milky, stingy, and thick. Thick! Lots of cheese! The sausage was spicy but I could barely discern the flavor the pepperoni. I tried to discern a flavor in the red sauce and it just seemed like a normal red sauce. I think there were a few tomato chunks in the sauce. The dough had a very soft doughy texture, probably because it was buried under so much cheese.

From the business name you can't tell it's a Pizza place but I'm sure the name is well known among locals. We are so happy to have stumbled upon this little pizza place. From the outside it seems like it's been here for Long time which is great! Ample parking in front of the store. I didn't see any tables inside that you can eat at. I think this is take out and delivery only.We got a small Deep Dish Sicilian Pie Pizza. My picture doesn't do it justice I should have taken some from the side but my fingers were covered in pizza goodness! It was cooked perfectly and filled with pepperoni, ham, bacon and sausage with melted cheese on top and the crust was chewy and crunchy. So much flavor and so filling. We ordered a small but because it was thick I could only eat 2 slices. The wings were excellent as well and coated in a delicious BBQ sauce. The sub was really huge, tasty and stuffed with fillings. A great deal for $8.50. We waited about 20 min for our order and it was well worth the wait absolutely delicious!

I don't like giving negative reviews to local places, so I have debated posting this for months. Before I personally stepped into the shop, I would have given the food a solid 4 stars. However, when I went to pick up a pizza I was shocked by how filthy the interior was. The kitchen is open, and I could clearly see what looked like years of caked-on dirt and grime, including spilled food on the floor that was clearly not from earlier that day. I was so grossed out I couldn't eat any of the pizza and we have not ordered since. I'm sure other restaurants I enjoy have similar kitchens, but I've never seen it with my own eyes like I did here. It was entirely off-putting, and thats why I ultimately wanted to share my honest review.

Very disappointed. I almost feel like I got conned into give them money. I ordered the fish bucket for $35. When I got home and tried the first piece; I found that it was cheap frozen, mostly breading and fish mush that they make kids fish sticks out of. We got two sides that came with the fish. One was their anti pasta salad... it was slop! Pasta and a bunch of Italian dressing... no meat; no cheese. Obviously the owners are just trying to put out the cheapest product and make the most money. I will never order from there again and wish I could give a no star.

We have been getting pizza here since the mid 90's. While we now no longer live in the area, we will still go out of our way for a Mark & Philly's pizza.

Let me spin you a yarn... My husband and I had a long day at work and decided pizza, jojo's, and fried chicken from Mark and Philly's was the route to go. We placed an order and it was delivered precisely on time. Fantastic driver and delivery. However.... We open the pizza box to discover a frightful sight. The pizza was extremely undercooked. Now, I'm no stranger to undercooked pizza as someone who use to frequent Papa John's.. But there's a limit. The best way I can describe the pizza was runny, or maybe gluey. My husband calls the establishment and explains that the pizza is undercooked. However, Philly says that is not possible since there oven reaches 500° and I quote, "If you're that concerned, finish cooking it in your oven". We were flabbergasted. Dumbfounded. Speechless. My husband and I make eye contact and stare at each other for a minute before deciding that we need to visit this pizza shop to confront the owner and get our money back. We pull up to the shop and walk inside... I can't even begin to explain to you how nasty, disgusting, and dirty this place was. The red brick was brown. Cobwebs on the ceiling were black and chunky. The floors haven't been washed in years. The cash register and office ceiling tiles were yellow and covered in layers of what I can only describe as a mix of dust and grease. Just horrid. If you do not believe me, please do order pickup and not delivery.Anyways, my husband sets the pizza on the counter and asks if Philly can put it back in the oven to cook it the rest of the way, considering we're required to cook this to completion ourselves... Now, my husband was being a bit of a butt and really only said this to start some banter... However, and I cannot stress this enough, SHE PUT IT BACK IN THERE OVEN!!! Keep in mind that a few of these slices had bites taken out of them. We're watching this all unfold and in the background Mark is making fried chicken without gloves. This would not be an issue if not for the fact that he was also touching pizzas, jojo's, subs, salads, and whatever else they had back there without washing his hands. When our pizza was "finished" he still hadn't washed his hands and touched our pizza. He also put the pizza pan that our contaminated pizza was on back in a box that he had originally pulled the pizza pan out of. I guess this was the "clean" pizza pan box. If you can consider anything in this place as clean. We left without any fuss. At this point, we were just side eyeing each other with confused and mortified looks. We were halfway home before saying anything and the only thing that was said, and I quote, "I cannot believe she actually put that pizza back in the oven". When we got home and assessed the pizza, you would not believe what we found. It was still raw. Please just be careful ordering from here. I have never felt so ... Well since it's only been a few hours, I can't even describe properly how I feel. Disgusted is definitely a good word for it.
