I am really surprised to see such poor reviews for Main Moon. Since the most recent one from 2019 was good, I am going to guess the older ones were perhaps under different ownership. I got takeout via DoorDash tonight and the food was some of the better Chinese I have had in the area.I got the pork yat gaw mein soup that was excellent. This is a New Orleans inspired soup that is found in very limited places outside Louisiana, one of which is Pittsburgh. Only a couple places here have it and it was the reason I picked Main Moon as I wanted to try it. Huge portion for $4.95, it has great flavor, Creole meets Chinese! I also got spring rolls that did not travel well and were quite greasy and a delicious Singapore Beef. Also a big portion so I have plenty left for lunch. My only complaint is they were a little stingy on the rice for the size of the entrée.

The other reviews seem a little harsh to me. Granted, I've only ever been here once... pick-up with no order in advance. Price was reasonable and food was prepared in under 10 minutes. I ordered Bourbon Chicken and white rice. Sauce was a bit different than other places, but not "bad." Inferior in my opinion, but still okay. The amount of chicken included was HUGE, the vast majority of which was good quality (a few bits of gristle). Rice was as good as anyone's. I wouldn't order this dish again because the sauce wasn't my favorite, but price and food volume/freshness will get me back to try something else. They can't be considered that bad by the local population, as their numerous delivery people were constantly coming and going while I was there, and their phone rang non-stop.

Been ordering take out from here for a few months now and food has been great. Good sweet and sour chicken, nice white rice, usually have leftovers too. Usually takes 10-15 min until it's ready for pickup. Depending on how much you spend they give you a free something. I usually go for the free 2 liter of pop. Can't speak on the past reviews but I think they've improved since those. Haven't had a bad experience yet. Been going there since summer and will continue to.

Considering they deliver, which is great.. I'm not mad at it? But... the packaging was super messy and overflowing.My husband described it as slimy while my daughter described her orange chicken as odd tasting and I agree.. I got the Mongolian beef and it definitely wasn't Mongolian beef but it was ok? The taste was really generic and no where near as good as House of China. Next time I will definitely drive and pick it up from There!

Mixed feelings about this one.Pros: cheap lunch, ton of food. Enough food to split. Quickly made. Lo mein good.Cons: food wasn't very good. Bourbon chicken had 5 or 6 pieces that were inediblely hard. My dog had trouble eating them. Sauces weren't as good as other Chinese places around.

I generally dont complain, but tonight I ordered and there was PORK IN MY FOOD!! I haven't eaten meat in years. It was really upsetting. Why would there be meat in a no meat order?!

Can I give it less than one star??Just ordered delivery the other day. Arrived about an hour late. No silverware or chop sticks. (Love eating Chinese with my fingers, don't you?) General tso chicken had absolutely no spice to it, actually tasted sweet. Beef and broccoli (was supposed to be shrimp and broccoli) had no taste just some bland brown sauce. Hot and sour soup...tasteless with a pool of red grease floating on top. And finally the boneless ribs came with some unknown meat cut up in fingernail size. Oh and by the way they were the color of the red Yelp banner. Hope no one who gets these is allergic to red dye number 40. Called to complain and the "manager" said NO REFUND ! We must talk to driver because he was the one who took the order. Which was bull sh*t. I talked to a female when ordering. He gave us the driver's number to call and guess what? He never called back. We MacGyvered some eating utensils and ate what we dared. NEVER AGAIN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love their sweet and sour shrimp. It's filling and with the price. Plus they don't gouge you on their cans of soda, even on GrubHub. I suggest that you get a side of general tsoas sauce for whatever you order. For only 50 cents, you can't go wrong.
