For my money, this is one of the best places to get freshly baked strudel in Greater Cleveland.Like always, when I walked into the shop, I was met with the delicious scents of strudel baking in the oven and the friendly smiles of the staff.I got a half-strip of apple strudel for $9, and in my humble opinion, it was worth every penny. Since I went to the bakery early in the morning, I snagged strudel that was fresh out of the oven. Upon request, the staff cut up the half-strip for me and topped it off with some powdered sugar. As the strudel was freshly baked, it was warm. And oh, it was so freaking scrumptious. When you take a bite of the apple strudel, it's easy to see why it's the bakery's most popular flavor. The apple pieces were sweet and juicy, and the pastry was perfectly flaky. The filling also had some ground nuts, which added a nice juxtapositional texture to the soft apples.I shouldn't have eaten the half-strip by myself, but it was so delicious that I couldn't help myself. When my box was empty, I was stuffed. In addition to being delectable, the strudel was very filling.

Today I went with some of my longtime friends on a purely Cleveland adventure: Studel Quest! Our quest began here. They had a constant line and staff was so friendly. Explained everything about their recipes and process. The difference between the Hungarian and Polish approach. I am kicking myself for not taking pictures. When you walked in, you smelled fresh baked goods. It smelled like Solon Home Bakery circa 1980. From the counter, you could see the work space in the back piled high with at least 100 fresh apples about to be Strudel'ed. They had so many flavors! (Over 20!) And at the end of the quest was judged to be superior strudel.

Wow, this place was amazing! I found this place close to my hotel and I couldn't be happier. The strudel was on a different level. I stopped in early and think I may have been her first customer. She was so nice and welcoming! It was co to see her and her mother working on the pastries and her son was helping out too. Obviously an amazing family business. After showing me her process, I decided to go with a half apple and a half cheese. She warned me not to close the box as it just came out of the box and it would soften the flaky layers. I did exactly as told and ate on the strudel for 3 days. Eating strudel warm and fresh out of the oven was a religious experience. So flaky and light. Both flavors were outstanding! I absolutely enjoyed my strudel along with my visit. This place is highly recommended!

Great bakery. If you don't get there early in the day--I didn't--you'll have to take your pick of whatever pastries are left. Nothing in the strudel category but pineapple and raspberry, but I got both and they were great. What really blew my socks off, however, were the baklava rolls. Probably the best baklava I've ever had. Service was firm and kind. Standard family bakery ambiance. No seating in or outside. Nothing but baked goods!

Amazing strudel! Was in the neighborhood of Lydia's and so glad I stopped and made a purchase. As so as I walked through the door, I was greeted. I could smell the deliciousness of fresh baked pastries. I also noticed how hard everyone was working. I never had Hungarian strudel before and I HIGHLY recommend that everyone tries it. It's very flaky! The horns were really good too! The staff person who greeted me took time to explain their flavors of strudel and horns, as well as their other baked goods. Wish this bakery was closer to wear I lived. Good thing I like road trips!

I've had strudel many a times, some of it good, some of it even great. But their strudel? Just perfect. Crisp, warm, balanced and full of flavor without being overly sweet.I wish we were local and able to stop back to try all the flavors - but can't recommend the cherry or apple enough. And I also want to thank the gentleman working behind the counter for the friendly morning discussion.Pro-tip, don't close the box (helps keep the strudel crisp)... And eat it fresh.

I was fortunate to walk in just as they pulled out an apple strudel. The young man that helped me was very friendly and helpful. He told me I would love the strudel and he was right. Delicious!
