Legacy Restaurant & Grille

A lovely restaurant with very good food. The Lake Erie perch, prime rib and filet mignon are some of my favorites. One of my top-choice local restaurants.

This was my first visit to Legacy. I met several women friends for lunch. It is a beautiful dining room, that overlooks the golf course. Their menu has a nice variety of salads, sandwiches and entrees. I had the Rueben and chose a salad instead of fries. I have eaten a lot of Ruebens and this was one of the best. Our waitress, Linda was nice and very attentive. I will definitely make a return visit.

Atmosphere - The restaurant has a large bar and a bunch of four tops. One side is floor to ceiling glass that looks out to an outdoor patio dining area. The restaurant has a club feel to is and the bar patrons are loud enough that conversations are difficult.Service - Decent. Our server was pleasant and attentive.Food - Decent. The menu is pretty limited, but there are a few specials as an addition. I ordered the braised veal only to learn shortly after that they were out of it. It drives me crazy when this happens. First of all, with so few items on the menu how difficult should it be to maintain a reasonable inventory? It was roughly 5:30 pm when we ordered on a Tuesday! There is no excuse for this. Secondly, any decently managed restaurant would ensure that the servers are made aware of any items on the menu that cannot be filled! I then selected the pork and stuffing special. The pork was tender and flavorful.I liked the stuffing as well, but for some people the chorizo sausage included in the stuffing may be a little too spicy. Overall Value - average. The prices were not cheap, the restaurant loud and menu limited. I have no interest in returning.Advice - the restaurant was offering a limited selection martinis for $6. I ordered a dry vodka martini and my wife ordered a chocolate martini. My martini was so bad I returned it. My wife was served a white chocolate (they were out of regular chocolate! Amazing!) and it was warm! Stick to wine and beer!

We came as a party of 6 and were quickly seated. We all decided to enjoy a happy hour martini. $6 sounded like a good deal, but when they came, we realized you get what you pay for. They were small, not good vodka, and weren't cold. The atmosphere inside is nice and overlooks the golf course. The menu has everything from salads to sandwiches to entrees. I chose the turkey pretzel sandwich, which was turkey, cheese, tomato and a honey mustard sauce on a pretzel bun. The sandwich was served hot and was very good. It came with fries which were hot and good as well. Everyone was pleased with their meals and service was excellent. We all had dessert and the sorbet was good and the creme brûlée was larger than normal. Overall, excellent service, good food and decent prices.

Our good friends took us for a nice early dinner here at Legacy, where the trees were beautifully covered in snow and this picturesque golf course had a wonderful view. We started off with some tasty beverages - the blood Orange Moscow mule was a big winner. Winner winner chicken dinner, which is actually what I ended up ordering. The gents had Manhattans which were poured strong but with just the right amount of cherry juice and topped with Luxardos. We started with the Fried Brussels Sprouts which had a sweet chili sauce on top that was absolutely delicious. The Sprouts themselves were cooked to perfection, still soft but also crunchy, which is critical. The bread was soft and plump but very chewy with a super nice butter spread that complimented it perfectly! For our entrees, we all picked something different. I had the Chicken Gruyere which had gruyere, bacon and onion on top of basmati race and served with MORE Brussels sprouts! The cheese sauce was divine and chicken cooked perfectly. The rest of the group had Surf N Turf, Chicken Picatta & Shrimp Scampi. See the pics for the turn out. Everyone was impressed with their meals and it was radio silent for the first three or four bites lol.Dessert of course couldn't be passed up and we selected strawberry cheesecake and creme brûlée which had the perfect crunchy texture as it should. The cheesecake was rich and stacked adorably, with a nice drizzle on the plate. Ugh. So good!!!I hope to be invited back by George soon!

I have always received a great meal for all the years I have been coming Legacy. The filet mignon was perfectly cooked and melted in my mouth. The salad was excellent and the waitress was very attentive.I will definitely be coming back.

Extremely rude staff. Staff was disrespectful and mean. Food is ok but not great. Mostly an older crowd. It looks ok inside but would not return.

Fondly surprised. Service was great, food and atmosphere was terrific. I'd go there, again.

Service was very good especially the bartender. However, the food that I ordered basically sucked. It was a seafood grill mix with risotto. Little or no taste plain bland rotten. Generally, when I have a seafood that is grilled, there's some sort of sauce that goes with it such as lemon butter or something. The fish was dry as a bone not worth eating. I guess I actually expected it to be cut off in some sort of a bowl with the sauce and the risotto. I have had some good meals there, but this one was not so good.

This is a lovely restaurant. The wait staff are super polite. Nice menu with small late options. The setting is relaxing with a golf course view.
