We finally made a point to make it to La Plaza for lunch. It's been highly recommended and we were very excited. I am originally from New Mexico and have also lived in Los Angeles so people are quick to tell me how "authentic" La Plaza is. Which, it is. But I have also encountered some pretty solid tacos in Cleveland which has been a pleasant surprise...But, back to La Plaza. It seems to be continuously busy and bustling with a decent amount of seating inside and outside. I don't really understand why there aren't any prices on the menu other than they don't want you to realize how expensive it is. And, it is. Six tacos with chips, guacamole and a couple of sodas cost as much as two meals at more formal sit down restaurants. So, it doesn't feel like a great deal. The food was good but honestly less delicious once you realize that it's overpriced. The restaurant is clean and friendly. But, it's also pretty loud and chaotic. So, for me, it's just kind of "meh". The prices are high and the atmosphere isn't relaxing and it's just not worth the bother. The carne asada is really good but not much else to write home about.

The most authentic tacos you'll get in Cleveland. Sadly because of their popularity, prices have gone up over the years, but they've also been able to expand their seating area and separate from the actual grocery store. Parking is a little tight in the adjacent parking lot, but street parking is usually aplenty. Pass through the small outdoor patio and enter an array of aromas. The menu has grown, but my advice is to focus on the tacos. Efficiency is their specialty - you order, they hand you your receipt, and you get your food in short order from the counter. No small talk or schmoozing. These are traditional Mexican tacos - double corn tortilla with a heaping serving of protein. Chicken tinga? You got it. Carnitas? Obviously. Lengua? It's yours. The best part is being able to customize your salsas at the salsa bar so you don't have to pick out all the onions or cilantro that someone might inadvertently put in. It does make it a little inconvenient if you're getting things to go, since you have to pack up all these little cups of sauce and toppings, and the tortilla shells don't hold up well for too long so try to eat these fresh if you can. The vegetarian options for tacos are pretty limited, but buy a baby-sized burrito filled with beans, cheese, tomatoes, and rice and you'll be pretty satisfied. Occasionally they'll have a rich soup like Posole that'll warm you right up. Guac comes in a hefty tub and pile of chips that you'll keep eating until you're stuffed with sodium and corn. Plenty of first-come-first-serve seating inside, with a few outdoor tables that have seen some better days. Some of the seats outside are falling apart so be careful when you sit down.

Best Lengua tacos that I have ever had! I LOVE THIS PLACE! The toppings bar is excellent. I stop often. Perfect place to order food, sit down, and eat.

Hailing from Chicago I had a plethora of fantastic taquerias to choose from and now I'm realizing just how spoiled I was. I have no idea how this place has such a high rating. I tried the steak burrito, pastor taco, chorizo taco, and pork tamales. The steak was decent quality but the flavor was not there, and they put way too much rice in their burritos. The tacos and tamales were edible but nothing I'd ever order again. Also, they forgot to put one of my tacos in the order. I don't see myself coming back.

Really great unexpected low key tacos that are delicious! Love the fact they have the toppings area accessible and you can just go and add any toppings you want to your tacos! It is also really cool that on the back side of the restaurant they also have a supermarket that is connected and you can just visit and purchase whatever you need, very convenient for sure.

This is not a fancy place (it's connected to a grocery store and I wouldn't say super clean), but it's got amazing food. It's fast casual style, so there's no table service. The tacos are quite customizable with the free salsa/topping bar: it's got sour cream, different salsas, guacamole, lime, etc. When I went, they were selling chips for $3.50 for a large container - not bad for fresh made. And they taste great: they're a good thickness and not salty.- Al pastor: the tender pork was seasoned perfectly. It's probably the best taco here that I tried.- Carne asada: the weakest one - it seems like they overcrowded the beef while cooking, because it was tough and watery. The seasoning was mediocre and nothing special.- Barbacoa: melt in your mouth tender and delicious, but quite fatty and heavy. Great in small doses, but eating too much would make you feel gross.- Chicken tamale: it was pretty good - the texture of the masa was soft and consistent, and meat was seasoned well.- Horchata: not too sweet and had the perfect balance of flavors. Good enough for me to go back here the next day ti get another horchata for a snack! If you want delicious, authentic Mexican food, look no further!

All you could want from a taco spot: delicious, no-frills, and attached to a supermarket. I got three of their vegan cactus tacos with rice and beans (they also had a vegetarian option with avocados and other veggies--ask the staff, they're very helpful). The salsa bar lets you serve yourself pico de gallo, sour cream, limes, pickled onions, and a variety of salsas and sauces. Perfect if you're a toppings fiend like myself! The tacos were pleasantly packed, and the double-wrapped corn tortillas were the perfect texture. I'd never tried cactus before, but I'd definitely get it again! Their horchata was the perfect creamy beverage addition to my meal. My friends also really enjoyed their al pastor/carnitas tacos, and we're itching for an excuse to come here again.

Fantastic authentic street tacos in the taqueria at front of store. Very overpriced (like $4+ per small taco) but authentic and very good. Burrito too is massive and very delicious. Very casual just a few tables in fromt of a walk up counter not a full service restaurant or anything. U can also find authentic mexican bakery, meats and veggies in the grocery behind as well. Grab my tortillas there not the gringo walmart chemical ones. Very much worth a visit if ur from anywhere clsoe to mexico and looking for street tacos type stuff. Just bring ur wallet. They opened another location in Amherst!!! Far west foodies, ur welcome! Lolz
