Amazing! A hidden gem in an unassuming area, connected to a Mexican grocery store, La Mexicana is definitely for the locals. I came with my Mexican friend who said these were by far the most authentic tacos in the Cleveland area. Everything, including the tortillas, are freshly made to order. I tried three different types of tacos and they were all scrumptious. The best part is that they are almost all only $2 each! I've already been back since my first visit! Highly recommend.

These guys make the best burritos in town! I always get the potato and cactus (napoles) burrito. Each comes with a container of flaming hot sauce. Use with caution if you're not used to the heat. The Mexican grocery store has everything you'll need to make your own burritos, tacos, whatever. The produce is cheap and usually nice. They have a butchers counter and have a case with fresh baked Mexican pastries. Lots of candies, spices and sodas to choose from. The staff is very friendly as well. It does help if you speak Spanish but not absolutely necessary. I highly recommend visiting this location! Oh...and there's a state liquor store on the other side of the building!

Food was fair. Menu is certainly Americanized. Not authentic but also not bad. They had plenty of tables of people but all Caucasian, not one table of Hispanics. My carne asada was bland and I had a jalapeño added when being cooked. No seasoning added. It was a ribeye steak at 1/4" thickBeans and rice were fair. I would not return

It's located in a grocery store and has an extensive selection of tacos and burritos. I got Al Pastor & Chicken tacos....just wow!! Authentic street style tacos with delicious salsas on the side. I make sure to stop by every time I'm driving past Painesville. Highly recommend it!!

I've been stopping here whenever in town for the past couple of years and they never disappoint. Affordable prices & super flavorful food. We always order food and then shop around the market while waiting. Worth the stop if you're in the area! I don't eat meat, so I always get the potatoes and cactus (papas con nopales) which comes with rice and beans. They have plates that come with sides but they also have tacos, quesadillas, etc.

I love to cook and am a foodie. The lunch counter here can't be beat, the prices might not be super cheap but it's within my Price/Portion/Quality index. These guys crush Chipotle and are on par with any sit down restaurant you can think of.Since I also love to cook the market itself is awesome because it carries Hispanic products that you won't find in most supermarkets. The place has everything from fresh baked goods/bread to meats to Mexican Hot Chocolate mix.To me it's well worth the 20 minute drive to shop and eat.

Pretty sure the chicken was boiled - it defiantly was not grilled. Also, if you enjoy burnt cheese with your food this place is for you. Should have gone to Taco Bell right down the street....

Absolutely delicious!! This is more of a grab and go place. There is a table where you can eat, but this is not a traditional restaurant with seating. Plan on ordering at the register and taking it with you. Even with a little line, it goes quick and I love watching them cook/assemble right in front of me. I have never had better tacos or burritos!!! They ask if you want onions and cilantro on the tacos and they are so generous with the amount they top them with. And watch out for the salsas, they pack some heat, but are so worth it! If you are near Painesville, this spot deserves a visit. And don't be discouraged if you don't speak Spanish. There's a huge menu by the register you can point to! That's how I ordered the first time so I didn't sound stupid ordering :) And the nice woman taking my order smiled and nodded.I'm not sure what our friend Stu is talking about in a previous review. I've never been in there and NOT seen plenty of Hispanic folks. I'm usually the only white chick! That tells me we've stumbled upon a good spot with close to authentic food!!
