While it lasts It is Germanfest/Octoberfest (hopefully Friday). We mark our calendars and go early (5 pm dinner 3 pm happy hour)The weinerschnitzel is pounded and tender. The german potato salad has large red potato chunks and inch size pieces of bacon, nice tang of light vinegar and sweetness. I also love the onion rings (homemade) and they are regular menu item. The german chocolate is fresh, moist and not cloyingly sweet. Great value..

First time guests and we picked a good night to stop by. First, they have a really nice outside eating area. Tables are spaced well, although I am not sure they were cleaned in between patrons. The first thing we heard was live music, which was something we have been missing since the pandemic started. Ronnie Clinton was the performer and was excellent. The menu is casual, with sandwiches and salads, appetizers and pizza. It was $5 burger night, but the prime rib dip caught my eye. I upgraded from chips to fries. I wanted a Yuengling beer, but they were out, so I settled for a Corona. Food came out quickly and was hot and fresh. The bun was fresh and the prime rib cooked well, but it was large chunks which weren't appealing. Had they been sliced thinner, the sandwich would have been much better. The fries were similar to fair fries and were very good. The only real disappointment was the server. She wasn't friendly and made all 4 of us uncomfortable. She was efficient enough, but it just seemed out of character to have a server so surly.

Atmosphere - very good. Although located inland, the restaurant has a tiki bar feel to it. There is a good size outside dining area furnished with at least a dozen tables, most of which have umbrellas. There was live entertainment on the Wednesday evening that we attended, which was very good. Although the servers wore masks and there were signs stating that they are required of patrons, there was no enforcement. Food - very good. The menu is is varied and typical of a tiki bar type restaurant. I had the Philly cheesesteak sandwich and it was very good. The beef was tender, the roll fresh and it tasted great. Service - a little disappointing. Our server made no effort to make us feel welcome and we had to seek her out to ask for everything. Overall Value - Very good. We loved the atmosphere and the food. Prices are very reasonable. There are several restaurants in the Huron area with patio seating (of importance to us under Covid), but we will certainly return to this restaurant.

Place is definitely an out dated hole in the wall. Service was amazing. Not a large variety of non alcoholic beverages. Food was very dry.

i'm not from around here....but Kokomos makes me feel like a local. I've been spending a lot of time in Sandusky this winter. Not really a bustling town during the winter months. There are a lot of chains and a couple mom and pops' around here, but Kokomos really hit the spot. it is the old club house for a now abandoned golf course (Keys golf course). The vibe is 'your parents' friends who went to hawaii once in 1974 with that cool basement'. It is like a time capsule, and definitely a local hang out. Bamboo, tiki, 70's mashup. and I don't mean in a hipster sense...in a TRUE visceral sense. This bar has great food at great prices, excellent drinks, pool table, keno, tickets, sports tv, a dance floor - it literally has it all. I can't wait to go back. If you're willing to try something new, talk to some locals, and avoid the chains, this is your place!

Our first visit. Have to admit we were a little hesitant once we saw the place, but there were several nicer cars in the lot, so we decided to go in. On the way to our table we were greeted by other some customers, nice friendly folks. The service was fine, everything we ordered was very good, and the prices were reasonable compared to any other sit-down restaurant. If we're ever in the area again we would definitely return.

Always a great time! The staff is always super friendly and makes sure you feel welcomed! The patio is amazing in the summer time especially when the fire pit is on and running! Food always comes out hot and is amazing especially for the price! Awesome date night or family place to eat!

This place could not have had better vibes. If you want a trendy place to impress your friends that you've been to, you probably should be going somewhere else, and not leave your self important review. If you want an honest bar with good food and reasonable prices try this place. Our server couldn't have been more friendly and willing to do whatever you wanted to make your experience better.Sometimes you want just good food, nice staff and a fun, low-key evening. This is a place I would look forward to going back to.

Have been aware of this place for quite awhile - and finally remembered to consider it when we were looking for something low key and casual on an August night. From the outside the place can look a little disorganized. The patio was quite busy and nearly full to capacity. We went to the unobtrusive, slightly mysterious main entry located at the back corner and lower level of the building. Once in the place it is welcoming in a big basement family room kind of way; all kinds of visual things going on in a big space that feels welcoming and comfortable in a slightly mismatched but fun way. They're big on OSU decor and they're the home of the Huron Browns Backers. There was a Browns exhibition game that Saturday night. Seemed to be quite a few patrons watching the game. But they weren't overly loud and it was a nice casual atmosphere whether you were there for the game or not. So onto the food and beverage: They have an extensive specialty cocktail menu. On the food side they offer a little of everything. Many things are on the 'deep fried side' of options. So don't go expecting a real healthy choice for food. But if you can accept that it's a sports bar with food to match, you'll enjoy the choices. (You can make up for it with a big salad and fresh veg/fruit tomorrow!) We ordered a Maker's Mark Manhattan, Spicy Bloody Mary and a fruity/sour martini (don't remember the name). All we're quickly delivered; all we're well made and tasty; and the very nice bartenderess came over about 10 minutes in just to check on the drinks she had made. Our server, Marin, was as smiley and friendly and nice as can be; answered all questions; offered suggestions or personal favorites; checked back quite often - and was an excellent asset to outlet first time experience. Our Walleye Bites appetizer was great with our cocktails. An order of 10 freshly prepped chicken wings were excellent; crispy outside, succulent inside. A corned beef Reuben was pretty classic, generous and very good. A large lightly breaded Walleye filet sandwich was very good; lightly crisp outside; and fresh and creamy inside. Fries are hand cut and done well. Our only 'con' comment would be the apparent salt levels of certain items; overall delicious but slightly heavy handed on the salt - which may have been mainly in the breaded/fried items. Yet overall we really enjoyed the food, the drinks, and the excellent service by all. Plus, the entire menu is quite a comparatively good value for our post pandemic high inflation times nowadays. So that was appreciated too. The place is what it is; casual, unpretentious, welcoming, cozy, and a very pleasant experience. We'll definitely return!
