Favorite Asian market I've found so far! I moved to Ohio (youngstown specifically) just last year from Southern California, im filipino. Do you see my problem? lol the internet is great in that you can order any packaged thing you want but produce, specifically greens needed for Asian dishes, gosh now that is quite the adventure in this part of the world lol anyway im glad this place exists. Will be returning at least once a month

My new favorite Oriental market, they have a huge selection of frozen items including imitation crab, thin sliced meats for hot pot, a HUGE variety of dumplings, bao buns and gyoza, and a whole aisle of fresh produce. The prices are cheaper than most of the other oriental markets as well. Definitely check it out!

My favorite grocery stop, hands down. There used to be a different market in the same plaza, right next to B&T Japanese Bakery (and both are now closed). This market is better. We've had a few places pop up in the Kent area (the one market by the Walmart on 59 and the store that was inside Yummy Garden), and none have the selection or produce that I find at Kent Food Market. The owners keep the store well-stocked and tidy, and I'm always pleased with the brand variety for condiments/sauces and frozen foods. Every time I go in I find some new ingredient to try, and that enhances my shopping experience.

Recently opened Asian grocery store, the location is next to China City Restaurant. You can get your Asian Fix here without going all the way to Cleveland. I went in here to get some dry noodles and dumplings, they have very limited selection at this point, but enough to satisfy my cravings. They accept all cards!, so no need to bring bulky cash. Anyways, feel free to stop by, you won't be able to find everything you need, but at least, it's closer within the Akron/Kent/Rootstown area.

There is a limited selection in this market, but if you're looking for the basics, this place should suffice. I always pick up some produce here after eating at China City next door. As limited as their selection is, the vegetables here are very fresh and good quality, sometimes better than those at the bigger supermarkets in Cleveland even. It's really nice to have somewhere so convenient to shop and not have to go all the way to Cleveland. Also, the woman at the cash register, perhaps the owner, is really friendly! Definitely stop by and check it out if you're nearby.

I stop here every time I'm in Kent and stock up on soy sauce, bok choy (multiple kinds), and tofu. I try to buy as many of our household staples as possible from this mom and pop shop--gotta keep them in business. I recently asked the owner for a suggestion of which soy sauce to buy, and she showed me the one she uses at home. No surprise, but it's the best I've ever tasted. And the price beats Kikkomen's.
