Kelley's Island House

So good we ended up there two nights in a row. We were there after the high season and it was largely locals at the outdoor bar, so it had a friendly feel to it. We enjoyed lamb stew, Arctic char, chicken pot pie, and the chicken sandwich. They have a few nice local beers on tap to wash those down. Service is impeccable. Looking forward to going back next summer.

Great restaurant and bar not to mention the unique home made ice cream. Very friendly and kind service. Really welcoming.

We arrived here for a late lunch on a Friday. We were greeted immediately. Our waiter was very attentive and did not keep us waiting. We ordered cocktails and the cheese board to start. The cheese selection was really quite good. I wasn't sure what to expect, but they definitely put in effort and it wasn't slapped together. Our cocktails were really refreshing and they had some creative choices available. My husband got the chicken sandwich and I got the bison burger with fries. The sandwiches were both very good and their fries were noteworthy for fries!! We haven't been to Kelley's Island for many many years. The last time we were here we went to this restaurant and it was nice to see that it was still thriving and did not disappoint after all these years! Nice little gem on the island. Out of my 3 day trip to Kelley's Island, Island House was the best meal. *it is worth noting that we went for brunch only"We sat at the bar outdoors. The bartender was very attentive the entire time filling up coffee and water. I ordered the banana French toast and it was excellent. Light, fluffy, and filling. My girlfriend ordered the quiche and said it was delicious too. Her fresh squeezed orange juice was also very good, though understandably does not have free refills. Not many places on the island offer a breakfast like that, and none are that good for sure.

The village pump was packed last night so I checked yelp. This place had the best reviews so I figured I'd give it a go. I sat outside. The greeter was extremely pleasant. She indicated you pick your own seat. I picked one outside. Great quality furniture and umbrellas. I saw some locals I had met earlier. Ah ha! I found the good place here. The menu was a perfect size. I asked for a painkiller (they didn't have i) and the suggested a their Singapore Sling. It was a great suggestion and they said the lime juice was made on site. Great during great price. Next up I got the bison burger. I had never had bison before but I knew order one step more rare than normal. I got it with blue cheese. I got it with the seasoned fries looked like salt and pepper but it tasted better than that. The Bison was amazing. Perfectly cooked. A small portion but it was just the right amount of food. My server was a guy that just started working there a few days earlier. Everyone I dealt with was great and the food was super. Looks like I won't be worrying about the Village pump anymore. The Singapore sling was more refreshing than a brandy Alexander too.

Brace yourself in that there are not a lot of 'high end' dining on the island - way more casual than anything but this place is 'the' place if there was one. The burger is AMAZING with fries - very gourmet like. Their service is prompt, friendly, fun, sociable and people congregate. Impressive so much in that we frequented it twice during our stay on the island and happily so.

Best food on the Island by far! The staff is great too. I had the salad with fried chicken on top and it was great. The bison burger was very good too!

Sunday Brunch always amazing! Every time we visit Kelly's Island we have a couple nice meals here !

Service was excellent. Food and drinks were delicious. We had salads, burgers, roasted chicken (dinner) and the homemade ice cream. Went 2x-once for lunch, then for dinner.

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Kelleys Island House. The portions were modest which suits us perfectly as we are older. The food and service was excellent. The sauces for each of our dishes were perfect in their flavor, freshness and simplicity. My wife had the soup du hour which was a chilled Thai cucumber and melon and then piri piri. The shrimp came with a wonderful butter, lemon and garlic broth and perfectly toasted bread. I had scallops with squash noodles, mint, slivered almonds and saffron aioli. All was delicious and reasonably priced (especially for an island). Kudos to the chef and our server Natalie. We will be back next time on the Island!
