KB Confections Bake Shoppe

The staff welcomed us as soon as we walked in and were very friendly. This is a small specialty shops with several desserts. The treats were very tasty and looked as good as they tasted.

I've been going to the same bakery for special event cakes for years, but wanted to try somewhere with more trendy and consistent designs, since this was for a really special occasion! I browsed their website, which was super user friendly, and found a cake I really like. I called them (because you're not able to email them) and asked if the colors could be matched to the bridal shower invitation and if a few lemon slices could be added. They said yes, but were not able to give me a price. I thought that was weird but the girl seemed confused and maybe new, so I was just letting it go. I thought it would be about the same as the cake off the website.I came to pick up the cake and it was absolutely beautiful! So stunning! Everything I wanted! I went to go pay, and it was a lot more than I was anticipating, but what could I do!They have no handling instructions, so I treated it like the other bakery I've always ordered at. When I arrived at my house with the cake, I realized these two bakeries and their cakes are VERY different.I'm just to cakes having buttercream frosting, and them being refrigerated, which means the icing would be hard and wouldn't get easily messed up. I'm also used to the cakes fitting nicely into a sturdy box.However, at KB, the icing is soft whipped cream that will get destroyed even with the slightest touch. And the cake was on a doily, which made the cake slide all around in the box!!! And the box was so flimsy, you couldn't even carry the cake without damaging it. Needless to say, the half the cake was destroyed. I tried my best to fix the frosting at home.When it came time to eat the cake, it didn't even taste good either. Lacked a lot of flavor. And it was supposed to be a premium flavor: lemon curd !!!I'll be sticking to my other bakery from now on. Their lemon curd and butter cream are fabulous! And the boxes are sturdy. And transporting the cake is easy. The only thing KB did better was the beautiful decorating !

KB Confections is an absolutely delightful addition to Lakewood, Ohio.Their sweets and pastries are always fresh and delicious. Their employees are always friendly and helpful.The macarons are the best I've ever had, better than ones I've had in France.You can't go wrong with any of the items in the menu.The greenhouse area is a wonderful respite from the outside world , to have a beverage and something sweet. I can't recommend KB Confections enough!!

I actually have been a customer for years. My husband and I used them for cupcakes and a small cake for our wedding day back in 2016 and still use them to this day, like this past weekend for my birthday! Why do we keep going back? The amazing flavors, the GF and vegan options, and the wonderful staff that is personal and detail orientated. Highly recommend!!

What a disappointment! I read other reviews and couldn't wait to try there highly touted cupcakes and pastries. Well, much to my dismay, the cupcakes were dry and the icing was at least two inches tall. They were tasteless! I bought a variety as we had a couple over for dessert and they could choose which one they wanted.Priced at $2.95 each, I expected far better!NEVER AGAIN

So I tried multiple products from here for the first time on Valentine's Day. The cake pops were really good and moist and tasted like a better version of a Starbucks cake pop. The macaroons were also very good and came in different colors and shapes which I thought was cute. Unfortunately, we ordered 6 cupcakes and every single one of them was dry :( the frosting was flavorless as well and overall just really disappointing. I could see myself coming back to enjoy some of their other products but not the cupcakes.

WATCH THE CLOCK! The greenhouse venue is beautiful and perfect for a party of about 35 people. Everything was very nice until it was soured upon checking out. Our event ended at 3:00 pm and we had completed cleaning up....everything was in great shape. A couple of guests that had come from hours out of town were still chatting as they waited for me to pay. I was quite stunned to be charged $62.50 for going over the 3:00 pm end time by a few minutes. When I questioned why they would do that, I was just told "its in the contract". That really left us feeling taken advantage of after already spending quite a bit for the rental.

We ordered our wedding cake through KB. We were very pleased with how it turned out. It was four tier with three different flavors.The owner met with us 2-3 times to discuss our cake. Their prices were very reasonable.Honestly this was the best chocolate cake I've probably ever had. We also got lemon crème/vanilla cake and strawberries & crème/vanilla cake, also delicious. But the chocolate cake was the deciding factor. Can't say enough.Would highly recommend!

This is a charming bakery on the near west side of Cleveland. The macarons were outstanding and the cupcakes delicious! I ordered a cake for my sister's birthday and anticipate being equally happy, as you have a choice of 2 different buttercreams - one for the crazy sweet tooth and one less so. It is hard to find buttercreams that our family enjoys but this is pretty darn nailing it. There is also a great atmosphere at the shoppe with coffee and tea available and lovely seating. The service was excellent and I love patronizing small, locally owned businesses!
