Do you want to feel like family when you walk in? Do you want food that reminds you of what Grandma used to make? Kitschy atmosphere that makes you feel like you just belong? Look no further than Katherine's! The food was so good...for the stomach AND the soul. My server was incredible! She was able to take care of our table and didn't mind.my two year old who decided right then and there to have a meltdown. This is definitely worth the drive.

What a great place for breakfast! We found this gem after an appointment at Southwest General. Super friendly staff that seemed to know most of their patrons. Pleasant and welcoming vibe even though it seemed to be a neighborhood spot. I had the Denver skillet with choice of toast. Large portions and delicious! Not dry and overcooked. The peppers were so fresh and sweet! Coffee was kept filled and hot! You don't find service like this anymore. Highly recommend. Open breakfast and lunch. Counter seats available if you are on your own. Easy parking and close to the freeway.

I went with a co-worker to a late lunch (2 pm) and when we arrived there were only few tables taken (they close at 3 pm). We seated ourselves and the server came right over and gave us the menus and took our drink order. When she came back with our drinks, we placed our order. Our food arrived in about 5 minutes, and everything was hot and looked good. I ordered the open-faced veal cutlet, and my co-worker ordered the Philly steak omelet. The veal was a processed piece of veal, and it was what I expected for the price. The veal was served with mashed potatoes and gravy and a vegetable mix. The veal was on a piece of white bread. There really was not a lot of flavors in this meal, everything was very bland. I think this is because of the customer base they have, but it really could use some salt and pepper. My co-worker liked her omelet. Overall, this place was fine for the price. Breakfast might be better than what lunch was, but I was not upset with the meal, it just didn't blow me away, it was meh...If I'm back in the area, I might stop by for breakfast.

Came to this breakfast joint because it was recommended to me by a friend. This place is a family owned restaurant and is quite the busy one! I had seen that many people ordered the eggs Benedict and I just had to try it for myself and it did not disappoint! The hollandaise sauce was perfection! The English muffin was toasted, the Canadian bacon was thick enough so it didn't take over the flavor, and the egg was poached to perfection and runny. It was a cold fall morning so I ordered a hot chocolate and I was not expecting there to be whipped cream on top but I was happy it was there. There was definitely a lot of chocolate in there so the flavor of this hot beverage was very delightful! My 10 month old son loves their mashed potatoes and was eating it like it was his job. It was his first time having mashed potatoes in public so I'm very happy it didn't end up all over the table or on the floor. My husband liked their country fried steak as well since he polished that plate clean. The potatoes were a little under seasoned but nothing hot sauce and ketchup couldn't fix.Overall happy with our experience here and we can't wait to come back for more! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a mom and pop restaurant for breakfast.

Cute little diner that's been there forever. Food is good and the wait staff is helpful and very nice. I've been coming to Katherine's the last 38 years with my grandparents once a month and it never disappoints.

Had breakfast here recently with a friend. They are open super-early, a plus for the hours we usually meet. This is your standard-issue breakfast fare that you'd find at any diner. The prices here are incredibly reasonable for what you get, and they will cook your meal to order. I had my go-to meal...coffee, eggs over easy, well-done potatoes and crispy bacon along with wheat toast. Everything came out just as expected and our server was attentive with coffee refills and the like.I would definitely return here for future breakfast meals.

Stopped in Saturday morning for 1st time ever, after hitting Jaworski's meats next door, at least once a month for meat market.(great meat market)...So, Restaurant is nothing fancy but a nice local joint, packed parking lot. Plenty of seating, with a seat yourself policy. Our waitress Helga, was quick to table, very helpful & pleasant. She answered our questions & smiled. Which seems rare in this day & age... after questioning her on menu items, she recommended the eggs Benedict & I asked if the yolks are runny, her reply was yes. After our food was delivered & we started eating, she stopped & checked to make sure they were satisfactory. They indeed were & she stopped to check on us multiple times after that. The hash browns were kinda flavorless & ehh. Needed some flavor, ordered them crisped up which helped. The eggs Benedict was definitely the right choice on this day...Other breakfast was 2 eggs, 2 meats, hash browns & toast. Eggs were cooked as ordered, which is important. (Yolk was broken by us, before picture, it came out of kitchen proper) Same reply on the hash browns, for scratch made HB's, just ehh, bacon was thin slicedOverall, a decent breakfast they replied. This is a good little neighborhood joint, where old timers sit around reminiscing, family's gather or you just roll out of the rack & go get some vittles...Would definitely stop in again...

We enjoy trying different local restaurants for breakfast during visits with our granddaughter. The food was okay but the restaurant looked very dirty and shabby. If it appears that way out front, I can only imagine what condition the kitchen is in. Some of the other patrons (older men) were openly discussing their sex lives. Ewwww. Not something a six year old needs to hear. It's clearly not our kind of place.
