This club used to be great! I started going here when I was six or seven as my parents are still members. But I'm sad to say it's been going down hill. The grounds are still well-kept but the service has gotten really, really bad. Prior to last evening, I hadn't been at the club since around Christmas, where the service was slow. The waitress from last Christmas was really nice and apologetic and someone brought us a free appetizer, which was a nice gesture, but the wait was much too long.Fast forward to yesterday evening... a total dumpster fire when it comes to service. Now, a country club should have impeccable service. There was a time when the Kahkwa Club trained their servers well. And I have fond memories of the older servers being wonderful - especially during the fall/spring Sunday buffets (the waitress staff were all older ladies and they were great - they did their job very well and were friendly).Regarding yesterday evening, our waitress, named Nevena K (that's the name printed on the bill) was an awful waitress whose personality is even worse. I don't know what Nevena's damage is, but after we waited 15 minutes for water and my mom asked her where she had been, Nevena's nastiness showed full-force and she made certain to make her malice known by her use of extreme sarcasm in the tone of her voice. Although she had brought rolls to other tables, we weren't given any. And when my mother asked for rolls she made certain to bring us a basket with TWO ROLLS (for three people). Yeah... point taken. You didn't want to give my mom a roll because she got on your bad side. We spoke with Tom about Nevena's attitude problem and he stated we would be given a different waitress. Well, that did not happen. Instead, when our food was brought out my father and I asked Nevena for ketchup for our french fries - and we were not given ketchup; she never brought us any. After we finished our meal Nevena brought us our check, gave us one last dose of sarcasm and we left. My parents are considering canceling their membership after more than 30 years. Personally, I hope they do it as I've had much better service at Denny's. The garbage level of service we dealt with last evening was ridiculous and Kahkwa grill room management should be ashamed they have a member of their staff who speaks to members with such rudeness.

I'm very wary of Country Clubs. The first thing I think is that the food isn't going to be good. Sorry, but it's true. It's expensive dining, in a fancy pants place, with mediocre food. But that's not the case here! The artichoke and spinach dip was awesome, as was the homemade pita bread. It was really thick and plentiful. It was hard to stop to save room for the main course!I got the trout with risotto and baby bok choy in a creamy mango sauce. It was delicious and a perfect size... maybe almost too much! I was honestly really impressed with how good it was!The service was really friendly and attentive. Although, I'd hope it would be! Plus, it was pretty dead, so we'd have to have all the attention! I'm very pleasantly surprised!

Impressed doesn't even begin to describe how pleased I was with our brunch on Easter Sunday! I'm not usually a fan of buffets-they usually include overcooked/undercooked/cold food- however, this was a definite exception to the usual rule. They offered both breakfast and lunch items for brunch. The highlight of the breakfast options was the made to order omlette bar. I chose egg whites, mushrooms, cheese, and ham. It was pretty good-the whites were a tad runny but overall I was satisfied. They also had the typical eggs, bacon, home fries, eggs benny, pancakes, pastries, etc. They did have a carving station which I cannot comment on but it was a pretty popular table so I'm thinking the ham and prime rib was pretty tasty. They had a table in the middle containing salads, cheeses, and breads. On the same table there were shrimp and crab legs as well. I did not partaker in anything at this table but a pear salad with cranberries, gorgonzola, and nuts looked particularly yummy. I sampled a small piece of salmon from the lunch entrees and it was good, particularly the dill sauce on top of it. The absolute highlight for me was the dessert table! They had raspberry cheesecake and what I thought was regular cheesecake actually was angel food cake but, even though I normally don't care for angel food cake, this cake was super flavorful and delicious with real whipped cream. They had a ton of cake pops-I sampled chocolate with cookies and cream in the middle-and a sundae bar. I chose salted caramel ice cream (of course!) and topped my dish off with caramel sauce, chocolate sauce, and whipped cream. To drink I had a mimosa which was very tasty and refreshing! Service was decent, we were checked on every so often and her presence was never intrusive. They also had a bunny floating around for the kids and an easter egg hunt going on concurrently. I enjoyed both the company and the food this past Sunday and am looking forward to an opportunity to come back in the future!
