Jose's Landing

We were back in Canton on our way home from the scary, deep south, and I have to admit it feels downright civilized! It helps that we stopped by Jose's. I haven't been there in years, and they have made a lot of improvements. The outside area, looking toward the lake, is great this time of year. There was a breeze, and I just love the new (to me?) bistro lights. I was a tiny bit sad to find the pinball machine AWOL, but then I promptly forgot after (downing too many Chilled Fireballs and) discovering the super fancy iTunes jukebox. That kept me AND the hubby entertained, which is no small feat. You see, he likes country (which makes little sense given he's foreign and has only lived in the north), and I like to get crunk. Anyway, we both found lots to like, and no one even seemed to notice how incompatible our tastes are. Long story short. This was a great night out for me and the hubs. We got a break from the kids, we didn't blow a ton of cash, and we were only a *little* buzzed when we woke up the next morning. (Next time I'm sticking to three drinks!)

GREAT service! Many times when you enter a bar and you're from out of town you get "the look" like you don't belong. Not a Jose's! They welcomed us immediately and didn't make us feel like we didn't belong. Drinks were great and great price! Loved the karaoke, just wish it was a little more organized.Next time I'm in town I'll definitely be back!

A fun neighborhood place with a great view of the lake. Strong drinks st reasonable prices. Great service from the bartender. We will be back!

Fun, cheap, and diverse crowd from day to night. Signature shot is a storm cloud... evil but delish. Cash only but music/staff is great and the view is awesome from patio!!

Jose's has pride in being a Dive Bar. It is the only bar in Jackson that doesn't have food or a theme, like a Pool hall. It is just a nice bar to to sit on the patio, smoke a cigar and look over Lake cable. Low price drinks and beers!

Jose's is a fun little dive bar at the edge of Lake Cable. There's usually a pretty diverse crowd that shows up on any given night.They don't have an extensive beer selection...pretty much the basics, and it's cash only, which sucks.You're almost always going to have a fun time when you go and you'll probably meet some interesting people.

Fun place to go for a night out.. Karaoke nights are my favorite, especially on Sundays with 2$ cranberry vodkas!

My boss turned me on to this great little dive bar. Awesome place for the regular working class Joe to come in and unwind. The free, hot pop corn is a nice touch and just listening to the conversations provides great entertainment. Thanks for turning me on to great little place, Jeff!

Great dive bar on the edge of Lake Cable. Been a patron for over a decade and although the crowd has slowly changed over the years, the great prices for beer and solid service from the bar staff (Mike is the man) has remained solid. Weekend nights tend to favor the over- 30 crowd before midnight and under-30 crowd afterward. The bar is cash only, but there is an inconspicuous ATM in the corner for those without cash. No food outside of popcorn, but the local pizza guys normally drop in around 10 or 11 with food if you're interested.
