What a great place! And right on the water - the view was amazing, and they take good advantage of that with a very nice patio when the weather is pleasant. The food was delicious, and the portions were good sized, even the kids' meal! We enjoyed fried perch, fried walleye, and the crispy fries. They have a parking lot, but it was pretty hopping! Service was friendly and efficient.

Mixed feelings about this visit...we ordered perch, walleye and clams, the perch tasted salty, the clams were hard with heavy breading.The waffle fries were good, the yeast roll was soft and doughy perfect, the cole slaw was crisp and tangy with horsaradish.Warning: if you have seafood allergies beware that they dont use separate fryers so there is cross contamination in the fryers.You order at the counter, they hand you your drink cups to fill and they give you a table number..you find a clean table .they bring food to table. The server was not pleasant and I made a request for another portion of tartar sauce which she didn't bring. So I was a little offset that they sought a tip at counter when you placed the order ie 15, 20, 25 percent or your choice. Then really felt that I really didnt get good service...felt like I was eating fast food We also both had heartburn after the meal so this wasnt a good meal for us. It was 5 pm on a Sunday night. The dining was 80% full...the patio was empty as it was trying to rain. They do serve alcohol (beer, seltzers). Place was clean and well staffed.

4.2 dang good fish and chips. The perch and walleye was excellent. Hushpuppies and fried mushrooms all good. Great service plenty of room for our party of 12.

Solid cheat day eats! I was working in the area and Yelped local spots. Highly rated so I had to try it out. The line was packed to the door which is a good sign. Menu above your head and listening to the chatter from the locals, I decided to go with the Perch and Walleye combo dinner with Onion rings, mushrooms and a Great Lakes lager. I picked a seat outside since the weather was perfect! Sipping on my beer and listening to the sound of Lake Erie, pretty awesome not gonna lie. My order didn't take long to come out. The portions are generous practically cover the tray. First bite was the walleye. Perfectly coated and cooked, mild flavor and meaty. I really liked their tartar sauce! I preferred the Perch just because it was just lighter. I watched the mushrooms being battered while I was in line so I knew they were going to be the real deal. Huge caps, juicy and meaty. Onion rings the same. I think everything coated in the same cornmeal and FRIED, hence cheat day lol. $32 for everything and add in the outside lake ambiance, I picked a winner. I haven't had a lot of fried food in the last 2 months so I'm praying the 2 hour drive back to Columbus is uneventful lol. Definitely check out the Jolly Roger. You will not be disappointed.

According to a stranger on the ferry, this place is an iconic Lake Erie seafood institution. It was quite fresh and we enjoyed watching the staff batter it through the viewing window. It got a little busy when we arrived, but we didn't have to wait long. If I'm being honest, the perch was a little bland, but nothing that a little tartar sauce couldn't fix. Coleslaw was solid and fries tasted great. My "adventurous" four year old opted for a hot dog fish, and he gave it two thumbs up. It is counter service. They give you a number and then bring you your order. There weren't a lot of tables to pick from that overlooked the lovely waterfront, but that was okay. We walked outside after we finished eating. It was way too hot to sit out there to eat, but on a cooler day that might be fun too!

My wife and I wanted to stop in once more before we left the area. Must say that it was just as good, perhaps better, than the last time. There certainly was a lot more people as we visited at approximately 1:15 in the afternoon! My wife decided on their Caesar salad with chicken strips while I wanted their perch dinner and side of fried oysters although I really did not need the fried oysters. They were delicious! The perch dinner was huge and extremely delectable! We wanted onion rings to share instead of the french fries. The onion rings are coated with the same white cornmeal batter as the fish and the scallops. For some reason, the chicken strips in my wife's Caesar salad did not seem to have the same batter. An absolutely terrific lunch! It seems to be extremely popular spot to be!

I love this place! When I lived in Cleveland i'd sometimes take a drive over just for the joy of the fish. There used to be long John silvers across the street. I would eat my jolly Rogers fish and just laugh at them. This was some of the best fresh fish in the area. This fish is so fresh you might have to slap it. They are very proud in Northeastern Ohio, of their lake Erie certified perch. I thought that was pretty funny until I went to jolly Rogers and tried it myself. I implore you! Get over there and get fishy! Don't forget the fries or hush puppies. Leave me a nice note later telling me how much you appreciate me and how brilliant I am.Remember ... you can get ambience at home ... this is about the fish!

The interior is beautifully decorated. Warm and cozy with its fireplace and views of Lake Erie. The food is always excellent. Local delicious fish fried up in a light breading and a great selection of other treats like hand breaded onion rings. I've never had anything I didn't like in the past 20 years of eating here. They can get busy but the service is always prompt and friendly.
