Had lunch here today. I ordered a 3 Meat platter with 2 sides. And an iced tea. When I got the tea it was Lipton. Tastes as expected. There are only 5 or 6 tables and I got one that seated 2 people. I tasted the sauces that were on the table. The original was a thick molasses forward sauce with a finish that tastes like liquid smoke. The Sara's Spicy sauce was the same as the original with some cayenne added so you get a bit of heat at the end. The mustard sauce was very sweet with a mustard flavor. There was quite a bit of vinegar tang to it as well. The Slap Yo Mama sauce was a thin tomato vinegar forward sauce with a touch of heat to the finish. I got pulled pork, brisket, and smoked chicken. The pulled pork was stringy, crispy, and dry. The brisket was cut into pieces that reminds me of burnt ends. Was also very dry. I used a ton of sauce on the pork and brisket to make up for the dryness in the meat. When I ordered smoked chicken I didn't know it was going to be pulled chicken. That should be spelled out on the menu. The chicken was cooked perfect. Tender, moist and well seasoned. The smoke on all the meat has a burnt smoke taste. In a bad way.Green beans were fresh and were completely plain. I got the baked beans and those were very enjoyable. It's their own recipe and its actually very good. Mustard and brown sugar with some fresh veggies mixed in. I really liked it. The cornbread was also dry.My only advice to this place would be to figure out a way to cook your meats so they don't dry out. And smoke the food so it doesn't have a burnt ash tray taste and it would be much better.

You know...if you're really craving BBQ and nothing else will do, this place will do the trick and satisfy you for a while. The price for the 3-meat platter I had was very reasonable...just $15.99 and included ribs, pulled pork, brisket, two sides and a dinner roll. However, my love of BBQ doesn't stop with "good enough." When I travel, I want to find a great BBQ stop and it's tough when I've experienced places like Smoque (Chicago) and Buzz n' Neds (Richmond) and unfortunately, everywhere else gets compared to those, probably unfairly, as the choices above are destination stops.I'll second the thoughts provided by others here. The pork wasn't tender, but somewhat stringy, tough and chewy. There was none of that delightful pink smoke ring you like to see near the end of the bark...just shredded meat that needed sauce to improve it. Good BBQ should stand on its own, without sauce, but this wasn't it. Was it edible? Yes. Was it great (or even fresh) BBQ. No. It looked like it had been reheated a couple times. The brisket had very little taste, and only minimal smokiness, but was tender and the helping I got was better sized than most. Now the ribs - they were pretty good. Great baby backs should have a bit of pull from the bone, but the meat on this did slide right off. They were very tender and tasty, even though the house did put its own original sauce on it. Definitely a nice taste...best of the three meats. The sides were decent and the young lady that helped me tonight was pleasant. All in all, an ok meal, but not a BBQ experience you'd drive out of your way for. If you're in town, grab the ribs and wings. If I did, this would probably have been a higher rating.

I stopped by on a Business Trip to Norwalk. I stopped in and the cashier lady has no customer service skills. I asked questions she did not know the answer. She was not very appealing to a new customer. After a COLD customer service experience, I expected something different from the food. The presentation of the food was good, but the food itself is horrible. I ordered chicken and it was shredded and overcooked. The chicken was dry. The sauces are WAY overrated. Instead of slapping someone's mama, they need to slap themselves. Being from Texas I did not expect a similar fix, but this food was awful. Chicken needs to be served on the bone for BBQ unless I asked for gob of chicken. Stay away from this place. This place is awful. They should pay people to eat their food.

UPDATE: So I had to come back and revise my old review. I recently had the cance to eat a meal from Jimmy's and boy was I supprised! They completely revised their food! I was blown away by how much they improved. A comeback indeed!Old Review:The food is such a let down. I love bbq, but this is a poor representation. The staff, depending on who is working are friendly, and the restaurant appears to be clean. I so wanted to like this place because Norwalk is short on resturants, but the food is just so dissapointing.

There's not a lot to choose from in Norwalk other than fast food. This place wasn't as good as I had hoped but far from the worst. The prices were fair and so were the portions. If I had a craving for bbq again and I was in the area I would go again.

I travel a lot and one of my favorite types of restaurants is BBQ. There are some fine BBQ places popping up even in places like Ohio, but this is not one of them. They are friendly, the place is clean, but everything here is meant for sandwiches or burritos. The sandwiches are a little overpriced for what you get and the buns aren't toasted. The burritos are really good and the only thing I'll order. Usually, brisket is sliced, tender, and juicy. The brisket here is pulled meat, so you really don't know if it was ever brisket. Also, every time I've ordered it, it was very dry. The wings were great the first time I tried them when the place first opened in Norwalk, but later I thought they were way too dry. Bottom-line, if you go, just go for the lunch special and get the burrito. The other ingredients and BBQ sauce will mask the dryness of the meat. The cost will be more in line with the quality then too.
