Interbelt Night Club

The Interbelt has been a mainstay gay club in Akron for many years. The biggest crowds are oddly on Monday nights. It's always packed to the gills on Monday nights, which is always hip-hop night. But don't let the name fool you, it's about 90 percent white college kids. The music is blaring loud so this is a place to dance and party hard.The staff is on top of their game and very friendly. Security is also top notch inside the club, they're heavily armed and very professional. The security doesn't harass the patrons, they just maintain order and keep the peace. If there's a problem they are on top of it promptly. No security visible in the nearby parking areas so you are on your own out there.The dance floor is huge and open from all sides. Two pool tables, cigarette machine, coat check are all available. The outdoor patio and back yard is the really nice part. There is a huge covered outdoor bar, deck, picnic tables, and they even have a grill going if you want a quick hot dog to eat.The only drawback to this place is that parking is limited to a small rutted lot next door and a dark seedy side street that goes down the hill behind this place. The neighborhood is not the greatest, so go in a group or carry your trusted firearm of choice. Only problem with carrying a gun is they search people for weapons at the door if that gives you any idea of how the neighborhood is. There is a nice well lit free parking lot down the road and the bar offers a shuttle service on the busy nights if you don't want to walk it.The crowd is mostly gay college age kids from the Akron area. The crowd is about 50/50 male female, a few straight people, and some black, Latino, Asian, and mixed races. If you go in with a good attitude and don't act like a douche, the people are pretty friendly here.I can't say I've ever had a bad time at the Interbelt. It's definitely worth checking out on a Monday night.

I used to come here a lot as a young gay. It's been at least 5-10 years and I came back and it is TERRIBLE. I have so many great memories here and they have been destroyed. You walk in and the entire place is EXTREMELY bright. Like, lit. Literally. It's like they put floodlights on the dance floor. I can't believe there is so much light in here. The drinks are weak AF. I got a vodka cranberry with a splash of soda and all I can taste is soda water... AND IM A LIGHTWEIGHT! I rarely drink. It really hurts me to see that this is what the Interbelt has turned into. It's like a party in an empty SEARS with my dads stereo system in the corner with the lights on. Thanks for shopping, have a bad time!

Only use cash here because they will take your ID and lose all your shit. They are disorganized.

This place was crazy, I went here with some friends for a friends 21st birthday. I should say that I was a virgin to nightclubs before this bad boy popped my cherry. At first it was a little strange with the male dancers and everything but I soon got over that and had a great rest of the night nice selection of music and I got down with my bad self on the dance floor with a giant mirror. I was also waiting for the bubble party that was suppose to happen that night and it did not disappoint, though it made me very sticky. I got washed by some chicks so it's all good, my friend, although almost drowned in the bubbles, got crowned queen bubbulicious everything was good after we realized she was okay, and the night went on. overall good experience and guaranteed to give you an exciting night.

Everything I loved about the gay bar in my college town.. only bigger! This place is great.. 1 night of the week.. albeit a random night of the week.. but still great! The staff are always nice, the drag queens are awesome, and the DJ knows how to get people on the dance floor. I've never gone here with the intention to get wasted, so i'm not sure how the drinks fare in terms of strength.. but I'm sure they are heavy handed.

I always got in free on thursdays. Given its to loud for me to hear anyone inside which is fine cuz i always love going outside to the lil bar area to sit. Its relaxing and nice! People are very friendly here and i just always have such a good time when i go!

My friends and I came here for a bachelorette party and it was such a great experience! The bartenders were AMAZING and so sweet! And the drag show was really fun and interactive!!! I definitely recommend!

warningggggggg....do not go to this place, manager threw me out of the place because i asked for another drink since he knocked mine down and then out of anger threw what was left on the floor because i asked for another one. i called the police and he told them that i had to apologize to come back in, what a joke. avoid this place and call the police if they treat you like garbageeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

If no one told me this was a gay club I literally wouldn't have known. Went on a Friday and it was dead until midnight. Cover fee for $15 when the site said that Fridays were free. They only played Spanish music all night, not sure if it was a themed event or something but there was no variety. I could see the appeal if there was a drag show or music act but no fun on a regular night. Security hounded my friend and I and made us feel so uncomfortable, kept eyeing us down after we had already gone in (and paid more at the door than expected!).
